A Selfless Man.

 

I have wanted to write this for a long time, yet I didn’t think I could do this man justice. Now, well, I feel that it needs to be said.

 

So ladies and gentlemen raise your glasses and give a round of applause, for the most incredible man we all know as Comicfan, Wayne or just ‘Unc’ to me.

 

Every single day (internet allowing) he greets us with ‘hello’ and ‘have a good day’.

Despite the long hours of work his work day , looking after his dad, followed by his endless hours doing beta and editing work , on top of that doing so much more for GA. Then again, on top of all this he still has time to spend his time and money sending out cards and gifts to his friends. Always reaching out, always giving his all, selflessly.

He is extra special to me, we share a similar past, a past filled with pain and abuse, but he taught me to rise above it, and I am getting better day after day.

Personally, he has had so much bad luck. Firstly, his dad becoming ill, and he’s had to take care of his father. A lot of it from people he wanted to be with. Someone to be that special person in his life, spend some time with, only to be verbally abused or ignored.

Then after all this, there is his work, putting in long hours with constant shift changes. His car has given him a lot of trouble too. But what hurts him the most is not being able to keep in contact with his friends, here on GA and on FB.

 

He spends his money on essentials, but he spends his extra cash on cards, gifts and postage. He even goes as far as to include my friend, Kate in the loop to thank her for bringing the packages he mails out to me.

 

So you see? Unc gives his all, to reach out to us and give of himself and his time freely.

 

 

AND Unc, one last thing to add, with Stuby by my side, I will still snog your face off!

First of all dammit! I am already out of likes, and the day just got started. But that is ok, because anyway, like does not suffice here. I love this.

 

But most important of all is, you are absolutely right. Wayne has become such a great friend to me, and I love the cards that I receive from him. One little line from someone can bring sunshine back into what has been a very dark day. People like him are never truly appreciated, and I hope he realises his self-worth. I am proud to call him my friend, and I thank him so much for having me as a friend in his life. to you for being such a wonderful nephew, and my friend also and to Wayne for just being himself. He has not idea what a wonderful person he is. (raises glass)

For anyone that likes classifying people as "radiators" or "drains", Wayne's definitely a radiator

Well that was unexpected. I just look at it as trying to do for others what I hope they will do for me. I enjoy getting mail and keeping in touch. I do my best and that is about all anyone can do. Why add to someone's problems if you can take a few minutes to listen and lighten their load? Besides I have come to care about so many people on here.
