8 years ago today we were dealing with the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.

We had no power, our food and potable water was running out and trees were down blocking roads everywhere.

Two groups of relief workers arrived at our darkest hour::Australians and New Zealanders with food, water and gasoline for our chain saws. They provided just what we needed when we needed it. And we won't forget. You learn who your real friends are when it hits the fan.

I donated $5.  My company matched that amount.  I deserve a kiss.  :P

Seriously though, how come the flag on the right is missing two stars...?

...and what is that chainsaw for?

Because that's the flag of New Zealand and that's what it looks like. :P

Mississippi is covered by forests. when Katrina hit, we had trees down EVERYWHERE. It's took days just to open up the main roads and months to clear them all.

Man..., you're serious....

My post has completely lost its purpose....  Eight years ago = unhappy; eight years and one day later = :)  Cheer up!  And where is my unsolicited kiss?  Just kidding....  I had an old online friend who would gladly to use the figurative chainsaw to split me into halves....  It surely cheered him up....

ten years ago today i walked into the college that was to shape my life, introduce me to the man who became my husband many years later and where most of my books end up being set.

eight years ago today i met the woman who taught me how to really write.

well done for dealing with everything you dealt with so well. and *brofist* to the relief workers who were there to rescue you.
