Middendorf's is a sea food legend just outside New Orleans on I-55. Here it is riding out Katrina.

AHHHHH! Middendorf's!  Now that brings back memories.  A required stop on the way to the farm just outside Hammond every summer.

I think that was taking "fresh seafood" a tad far!  Did they rebuild and make the comeback from Katrina?

I like it fresh but I don't think I want it still squirming and staring back!

A foodie friend explained to me that it's good to know how to kill things because he was once required to slaughter a lobster at table in a fancy restaurant, surrounded by freaking-out coworkers. Something about them serving it wiggling to prove it was fresh, a degree of certainty no one at table had been expecting.

That won't happen if it's fried :P

You know the other fish in the restaurant tank will be looking at you :o

Fried sashimi?  Doesn't that contradict itself?

The other fish in the tank can stare all they want! That wouldn't bother me at all - but dinner still squirming? Rather not thank you.
