The next time you’re about to interrupt a woman while she’s speaking, stop.

Ask yourself if you’d be interrupting a man while he’s saying the very same thing.

Sorry, this isn’t a quote. And it’s more advice than inspiration. This was inspired by something said on today's PBS Newshour’s Brief but Spectacular segment which wasn’t up yet when I checked for links.  ;–)

Good advice.

Why does that make me think of this song?  ;–)

Big Time

🎶
I'm on my way I'm making it, huh!
I've got to make it show yeah, hey!
So much larger than life
I'm gonna watch it growing
Hey hey hey heyyyyyyy

The place where I come from is a small town
They think so small, they use small words
But not me, I'm smarter than that,
I worked it out
I'll be stretching my mouth to let those big words come right out
I've had enough, I'm getting out
to the city, the big big city
I'll be a big noise with all the big boys, so much stuff I will own
And I will pray to a big god, as I kneel in the big church

Big time, I'm on my way I'm making it, big time, oh yes
Big time, I've got to make it show yeah, big time
Big time, so much larger than life
Big time, I'm gonna watch it growing, big time
Ho ohh ohh, oh oh, ho ohh ohh, oh ohhh

My parties have all the big names and I greet them with the widest smile
Tell them how my life is one big adventure
and always they're amazed when I show them 'round my house to my bed
I had it made like a mountain range with a snow white pillow for my big fat head
And my heaven will be a big heaven, and I will walk through the front door

Big Time, I'm on my way I'm making it, big time, Huh!
Big time, I've got to make it show yeah, big time
Big time, so much larger than life
Big time, I'm gonna watch it growing, big time
Big time, my car is getting bigger Big time, my house is getting bigger
Big time, my eyes are getting bigger
and my mouth
Big time, my belly's getting bigger
Big time, and my bank account
Big time, look at my circumstance
Big time, and the bulge in my big big big big big big big big big big big big big big big, hi there
🎶

I know that he has people who manage his twitter account and just post things he's said out loud, but... I love the idea of the Dalai Lama with a smartphone, tweeting pictures of his dinner.

EDIT: Like he posts a selfie with a hotdog and writes, 'I asked the hotdog salesman to make me one with everything!'

Tom Hanks thanking his Gay teacher in an Academy Award acceptance speech inspired the very fictionalized In & Out and his influence will live on as long as people watch Gay-themed mainstream movies where two heterosexual actors playing Gay characters share an onscreen kiss.

A grandfather was talking to his grandson. He said: "All people live are two wolves fighting. One is evil. It is anger, fear, envy, jealousy, sadness, arrogance, self-pity, lies, superiority and ego. The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, benevolence, empathy, truth and trust. " "Which wolf wins?" asked the child. "The one you feed," replied the grandfather.

Sound advice!

I think I read it myself somewhere recently.... :unsure2:

Especially in a drought-prone region of the world, but clean water is becoming ever more difficult to find everywhere around the world and will only get worse due to Climate Change.
