3.7 Billion Year Old Fossil

This is pretty freaking exciting. Australian scientists found this fossil in Greenland. The fossil is of a stromatolite (a structure made by microbes). What is so cool to think about is that this is now the oldest fossil discovered so far.

Stromatolites have been high on my interest list ever since I saw them in Western Australia and learnt that they brought oxygen to our atmosphere.
