Drew Espinosa Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 This is pretty freaking exciting. Australian scientists found this fossil in Greenland. The fossil is of a stromatolite (a structure made by microbes). What is so cool to think about is that this is now the oldest fossil discovered so far. 3
JamesSavik Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Also found in Western Australia and Canada Modern stromatolites in Shark Bay Australia 3
Palantir Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Stromatolites have been high on my interest list ever since I saw them in Western Australia and learnt that they brought oxygen to our atmosphere. Lol - shameless plug - I even included the ones in James' above pic in my scifi novel 'Attunga'. 3
