OK I'd like to try and hide the shyness and 'live chat' once in a while, but both times I've tried my browser has wigged out and crashed.

I'm using firefox, and have java installed, yet it comes to a screaching halt. Upset.

So what does everyone use? And can you access it with XChat or another IRC programme?

Thanks

Try using IE or AOL....I get in with either one. :music:

My firefox works fine. Maybe you have to mess around with the security settings or something.

hmm I've tried with Firefox before and it let me in. I'm using a browser called Opera right now but Firefox used to work. Are you getting any kind of error message or does it just freeze?

Works fine for me, in both Camino and Safari under OS X. I'd make sure you've got a recent version of both firefox and java installed, though it's tough to say exactly what else you might need to do without knowing more about your system.

There's no access to the chat except via the java chat client, for enough good reasons that I'll forestall the inevitable thread direction and say "Just don't go there". :)

I hate my browser. Did it again. I was on live chat and then wasn't ... peturbing.

Hmmm, Is there anyway you can just use internet explorer for live chat purposes? Might be easier.

I have no idea why that's happening though, or what to recommend doing to fix it. I use Firefox and have no problems with the chat. Although it won't load videos at launch.com and I can't play spades at my game site. Honestly I didn't even try to figure out why, I just use internet explorer for those. Technology is a funny thing.

Good luck sorting it out and have a great day! :D

Both Firefox and Opera crash when I use livechat. I think it has something to do with my version of Java though both IBM's and Sun's versions crash X when I try to use them.

Ah... the joys of linux.

I couldn't sign in by Safari. :(

Usually the problem is not having the latest version of Java properly installed.

go here:

http://www.java.com/

The download link is massive and it's right on top. Get the latest version for your machine.

Woot!

Thanks Myr. I installed the latest version of Java, and managed to logon... Of course I was the only one there, so rather than sadly loitering all day I'm off to work.
