I'm looking for a hockey fan generally familiar enough with hockey terms and slang to let me know if I managed to use said slang correctly (or at least with the right connotation?) in a specific sentence. If you are willing to help me with said sentence, please send me a message.

Sorry... at the one and only hockey game I ever went to I made the mistake of asking why everyone was leaving before the fourth quarter.

@kbois It’s alright. If there's a hockey fan that happens to read my work and it sounds totally off to them, I can change it then. I had a little too much fun with the one sentence and it's happening either way.

@wildone is a big hockey fan.  :Steve2: It's a prerequisite for Canadian citizenship :P  I know a little bit, but probably not enough to help, even though I live in Hockey Town USA

What's up, eh? :Steve2:

If you look at the spelled out for this emoticon, it was named after me :D. You got your bucket on? Going to get serious and show us up going bar down.

I could help if I'm not at the ODR ;)

Here is a good source page, on the more modern terms used. But they have to be used in the right context and for the right situation.

https://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-men/article/35-hockey-slang-words-defined

Let me know if you need a hand.

Bucket  - helmet

Bar Down - Hitting the cross bar on the net and it goes straight down into the net

ODR - Outdoor Rink, more used in cold climates that have outdoor skating rinks. Where I live one in about every 2nd or 3rd community and busy from the end of Nov to mid March with kids and adults of all ages. And you can't feel sorry for the figure skaters that will sometimes come on during a pickup game, because the snow is shovelled off and they want an end of the ice to themselves. Well it is shovelled off because the hockey players did it :gikkle:
