I think I definitely take experiences from both but usually my poetry is an intrapersonal idea that I then apply to the world. Like, I think to really understand an idea, it has to come from your own experience (especially since I think poetry is almost the literary way of experiencing and feeling) but I think you can understand something even more if you apply it to the world around you i.e. your friends.
