Again another difficult decision JP and Wade are my favorites followed by Brad, and Stefan and then Jeff. Sorry guys but I still like Jeff. Its still sad that he was lost along the way.

Whats your favorite novel of the cap?
rjo replied to zland666's topic in Mark Arbour Fan Club's Topics
It's got to be Bloodlines. However picking a second one is much harder. I think If It Fits It kind of ends the JP story dealing with his many secrets. Man in Motion is great too. I used to dislike 1968 because of Jeff's death but I can't say that anymore. Even Summer love is growing on me. I am still waiting for the TV mini seres. -
Thanks for the link. Wow what a chapter. I feel sorry for JP. I think we now know where JP got his passion for sex. I honestly didn't know how Mark does it, but at first Steven's diary was getting a little boring. Not now. I sit back here and think now a 16 yo kid can deal with all this stuff. Steven is a strong guy. I think at 16 this would have driven me over the deep end. Poor JP a little five year old kid growing up in a household of misfits. A uncaring husband so busy with business that he hasn't time for his wife. A passionate wife who has to find other people to love cause her husband is too busy and then a older brother who is a complete a*****le. Not caring about anybody but himself. Maybe it is not so weird that he and Bitty were going at it. You wonder why JP was uptight maybe this is the reason for the Iceman later in his life. Then the ties to the Hayes family. Starting with Aaron, Frank and Jeff. Those two families so different but so much thrown together. Stevens life maybe would have changed a lot with out Aaron and I know Jeff changed JP life so very much and still does even though he has been died for 30 years. ( Some of us are still upset about Jeff's death) I liked Jeff a lot his easy going nature, his sense of right, telling JP to help Isidore, adopt Ace, marry Isidore, build a family, even the house in California. And then Billy (JP's son) Robbie , Marcel, and Matt all part of the story. Mark there are just sometimes I wonder how you came up with a story this good. It is just amazing. Totally Awesome.

Sorry to bother you guys again but still no chapter 8. I am not sure why but I still have two 7s no 8. I find that very upsetting because it sounds like Mark out did himself again. If I remember Steven just turned 16 in May, Aaron 16 in August and Billy and JP are both 5. Since Steven is telling this story, it is not unusual that a 5 yo kid would be a little dorky to him. If anyone knows why I get two sevens please contact me thanks.

What happened to chapter 8? I still see two sevens.

Mark don't know if you won for any of the other CAP stories but you and your team are the BEST. Thanks for everything. :2thumbs:

A Brother Frank the same age is JP. Poor Robbie. Paris and no whining.

At First it was hard to get into George but as the time past you began to believe he waqs a good person. You enjoyed his adventures. When Admiral Wilcox sent the Belvidera into a battle she could not win. we got mad. I am hoping that George and his family can remove Wilcox. He risked not only a ship but also crew which I believe is even more precious. We see what happens with the admiralty. It will be interesting to see what happens.

It is interesting to see Steven go from the lowest of low to on the top of the world. I think we do forget he is only 16 and living in the 40s. He is like the patriarch of the gay part of this family. I am thankful he and Aaron are together. In time ahead I think they will need each other. I only wish Steven would have lived maybe he could have helped JP avoid some of the heartache which was to come. Stefan's life would be been much different. Maybe even saved Jeff from the sadness and drugs which clamed his life. I just reread Bloodlines. I think its the best part of the saga so far. Thanks again Mark for this great gift. Another great Tonto time is JP showing Wade Tonto's picture in the Great Hall. I am sure sure she has a honored place in the Great Hall and in their hearts too. Hopefully we will see more of her in the Box. Maybe we can flash back and see her death and all say goodbye to her. Something we weren't able to so before.
-
When reading the Box I feel so sorry for Steven. He is all alone battling with his sexuallity. It so hard on him. I think he's strong then he knows. It brings me back to those years and to the time I thought I was the only gay person in the world. I think even Stef JP brad and the others feel his sadness.

The Box - a Reader's Critique and an Author's Answers

I remember a story which Paul Harvey told once about a parent talking about his rebellous teenager. It was from Greece 500 BC. Growing up has not gotten any easier. Was it not Mark Twain who said when he was 16 he thought his father was really dumb however five years later he thought his father had learned alot. Stef, Brad and JP really need to know Steven's thoughts and feelings almost as much as we do. Thanks again Mark. You are just making the guys more real to us. -
Wedding preformed by Chief Justice Roberts in the White House with the President looking on

Bridgemont is in 3rd person because of that you are an observer not in the story as close. You can see that George is lonely but you don't know what he is thinking. In Cap you are in Brad, Stef, JP's head. I love both storylines. It's easier too relate to JP and his family but who wouldn't want to be sailing around the world with George during one of the most interesting times in history. I guess it shows that you and your team are not just a fluke but truly a skilled group of writers. Truly storetellers.

Tonto died off camera so to speak. Many of your readers never were able to say goodbye. You have given us two gifts. Steve the unknown father and Stef's relationship with him (priceless) and Tonto. It is great to see all the guys who loved her and still miss her. Of course who would't miss her. She's great! What's even better Wade and Matt will get to know and love her too. I thought it was so touching when JP pointed out her picture in the Great Hall. It tells you alot about her and JP.
-
Maybe or maybe not. Even Stef had sex with women. Aaron is a "close friend". It's interesting that things have not changed much. 16 yo guys and cars. If Steve is 16 and JP is 5 that means Steve was born in 1925 and sadly died in 1945 only 20 yo how very sad. It is so very good to see Tonto alive and well being her indomitable self.
-
I lived in Ohio from 1988 to 1996 in Cleveland a city who had once been almost a million people at that time was about half of that and falling. Large parts of the town were empty blocks. Busing and the decline of the steel industry were to blame. Very Sad.
-
What a great gift! Tonto gives Stefan his Dad. Just seeing Stef hold that uniform. It sounds strange but he's nowhe's not alone any more. Mark you are right no one could have told this story better than Stef. Steven was a unknown. Now maybe all those questions will be answered, Stefan got Steven's looks what else did he get from his Dad? It was interesting see the guys interact with the misfits at the festival. I have a feeling Calb will be going to CA. I think him and the papers are the only good things to come from this visit. The next few chapters should be very interesting. We will see if Steven's and Tonto secrets will be revealed. Only time will tell. Thanks Mark again you only get better and better:

If the oldest Hayes son is Tonto's. She could have had the child out of town. Remember th e Hayes family all look a like Jeff Robbie Billy She could not have raised him everyone would have known. Barry and Tonto were at the top of social ladder. How did Tonto treat the Hayes family? Jeff and later Robbie? AS for Steven and the hayes son they meet in school or at the festival. They were in a small town in the 1920's Those victorian rules were still in place. Fred Hayes could have adopted him no one would have cared. A poor white family from the wrong side of town, Fred became a bitter man because he loved a women he could not have. Maybe he just married someone to give the son awn together. Only two people knew the truth Fred and Tonto. My cousin did the same thing in the 70's. It was maybe Tonto's first child and a lot of children were lost in child birth even in weathy families.
-
My guess is the following: Tonto had an affair with of all people Fred Hayes. Maybe he was not that bad back then. Young handsome not a wife beeter. They had a son, which became the oldest Hayes brother, Jeff and Franks older brother. This person did not know who his mother was. He falls in love with Steven Tonto oldest son and both are killed in the war. That is why Tonto said the box could never be opened. That could have destroyed all three families in this small town in the late thirties and early forties.
-
Why is Nicholas so interested in the box? Another thing in CAP the new chapter 4 Stephan Tonto oldest son has more of a relationship with JP. A mentor with the young JP and Fred Hayes's oldest son is friends with Stephen. I can't remember this before. I can only guess Stephen and this Hayes were maybe more than friends and the secrets are in that box, letters diaries something maybe returns to Tonto after Stephens death at the end of the war. Just like Andre things were returned to JP.
-
If not Bill who? Tonto is born in 1903. Jack Crampton's sister. My guess this happen in the 20's or during WW2. Its got to be somebody who changes the relationships in the family. The six of them are there for a purpose. Only three great famiies. My second guess would be odd one of the Hayes? I can't see Tonto and Fred Hayes with Jeff or Frank as the son. To weird for words. Why is Mark reviesing CAP? plant more clues? Who are the master of mystery Mark.
-
Last time at the beginning of Bloodlines I guessed Matt was Robbie's son. I think like JP's safe the box has a number of secrets. If information about Tonto's affair is in the box who could it be? Knowing Mark clues are there already. My guess is JP's biologial father is Tonto's lover.
-
Mark I think you've done it again. Could it be If it Fits was great, Bloodlines even better could this be even better? Who better to tell the story than Stef. Add to that my six favorate people. Nothing could be better. You got all of us waiting for the next chapter. I have a feeling that they will be in Ohio for a long time, You are just too good.
-
I am not sure if Brad would not have meet Robbie Jeff was his uncle. Why did JP take Robbie in guilt? Maybe but would not have Jeff hear from his brother Frank and taken his nephew in? As for Darius and JJ I not sure if that would have changed. Maybe the situtation with Stef JP and Jeff would be different. Too many verables to think about. I really liked Jeff and was sad when he died. Its just me a love happy endings.
-
I can't tell how much I like Wade. Please don't get me wrong I like Matt too but something about Wade and his interaction with JP. Wade has been through a lot but he is strong, loyal and loving. He will forgive his father because he has too. I hope Matt and Wade will have many happy years together. They complete each other maybe better than Robbie and Brad or JP and Stef. If all the people in the CAP saga the most complex, interesting, and noble people are JP and I see Wade as his replacement. What gets to me is how this saga is crafted. I believe you can read the saga over and over and every time you gain more. hints. clues all hiding in the open. What would have happened if Jeff would have stayed off drugs and stayed with JP? Would we have even more of these wonderful Hayes men? I think when JP first moved to Chicago he has no idea want would happen. A wife and children, grandchildren and grand home on a hill, a job which he loves the rock star. All this started with a letter and Jeff. We love these people because they seem real they laugh, they cried, they hope and they love. boy do they love! I found You by accident I am glad I did. I check for a new chapter a few times each day. I believe there are countless people who feel the same. As for Neil or Brian. Neil was far worse Neil was truly evil. Brian was just twisted. Eveb what he did to Matt wasn't as bad as Neil plotting to kidnap or kill Brad.
