I see they still don't realize they have feelings for each other, but it's a matter of time. And, thankfully, neither of them has backed away from what they've been doing with worries about being gay. On the contrary, they went further this time.

Dean is lucky it wasn't too late after ghosting Kris a second time in a short period, this time for a crazy number of weeks. Him packing all his things and driving all the way to Toronto without knowing if Kris would even want to see him helped show he was serious about wanting to make it work. But I like Kris's initial reaction was, promises don't mean anything when Dean went back on them shortly before, he needed to see for himself that Dean was changing. But it takes a long time to unlearn everything Dean was conditioned to believe all his life, so the time frame of weeks, then months and even years later is realistic for the various steps of his changes and, with them, phases of their relationship. I get the impression that, if Marcus hadn't left the town before Kris, Dean would have probably kicked himself for losing Kris for some time, but then moved on and continued to live there. He had to lose everything, in this case everyone, to shock himself into acting against the shit his asshole father drilled into him. And, even then, it took weeks of not caring for the house and Marcus setting his straight for him to do it. But he did it and it could have very well been too late, but it wasn't and he went through huge improvements. And he slowly convinced Kris first and then his 'mãe', who even started to act like the mother figure he didn't have most of his life. I'm proud of him. Similarly, I don't know if Kris would have uploaded Restart, at least at this point in his life, if Dean hadn't ghosted him for long enough that Kris was had mostly mentally moved on. Kris's life at the time wasn't perfect because he wish Dean hadn't left, but it was still good in that he had his own place and a good salary. His thoughts on Restart mirror that, the game wasn't perfect, but he finally realised he didn't need to be, and maybe that similarity is what made him see it. As for Dean showing up, accepting him back as his boyfriend and losing him a third time would have broken Kris, so he needed to put the breaks. For the sake of his own mental health, he needed to be certain first.

I think when I saw that surname (which I didn't remember until you said it now), I mistakenly thought it was also used on Spanish. And I'm more used to Spain being references than my country. But I googled it now and I was wrong. As for India, I didn't know they have a similar name, but they probably got it from Portuguese when Goa was a Portuguese colony. (Me referencing a past colony of my country isn't endorsing colonialism, that was very much bad.)
-
Thank you. I didn't know that about Kris' family, and I think I'd remember a reference to my country in the story. So I take it that must be a backstory element that you didn't have an opportunity to reference until this sweet gesture from Dean. I agree that this is a good way to help show the magnitude of Dean's progress.

I'll post thoughts on this beautiful rollercoaster of a chapter after, but I have to ask one thing. @ChromedOutCortex Why "mãe"? That's the Portuguese word for "mother" and, as far as I know, not in any other language. It's really sweet to see Dean call that to Kris's mom, but I'm Portuguese and I'm surprised at the choice of language. Nothing about the characters made me expect Portuguese and it made me curious.

The way Nate and Gigi are acting, their friends will realize this has to be more than a fight. Meanwhile, Ev clearly liked seeing Nate shower, but he doesn't yet realize he can be attracted to a guy.
-
The timings will help the inevitable speed along. Noelle broke up with Evan close enough to the trip that he ended up alone on a two person room. And Nate caught Gigi talking to another guy during the trip, so he's going to want to sleep on another room. Cue Evan and Nate sharing a room and a bed.

Chapter 2 - Invitation
Davide commented on ChromedOutCortex's story chapter in Chapter 2 - Invitation
So one family's homophobic and the other is racist. That sucks! But Christian and Henry make it work alone, even with the financial difficulties. The love they have for each other is beautiful. -
We obviously know from the prologue that they'll break apart. Seeing how good they are together and how much they support each other when they need it makes it sadder. But knowing Henry already lost his family because of homophobia makes it so much worse that he'll lose his husband too (not legally husband, but effectively so).

Another interesting premise. And I don't know how you manage to write so many stories at the same time.
-
Very interesting premise, I look forward to seeing it explored.

I hope she doesn't, it sounds potentially traumatic.

He posted the first Extra Innings a couple weeks ago: Tommy and Jonah. The rest of your post makes a good point, but I can see both sides.

I've been waiting for this one. Grant's “was she better than Olly?”, damn! But, besides the shock of him revealing that to the rest of the group, it was a sweet gesture. Grant noticed Olly was uncomfortable, despite him not saying anything, figured out the reason without needing to ask, and said what he felt would help him. Meanwhile, Luke.exe has stopped working, lol.

First book? Implying the existence of at least one more book, or at least the potential for it? Interesting, I like that.

Claire's reaction towards Elenor was perfect, the quiet fury, the raging fury and even kicking her own mother out of the house. It's good that people are spreading information. Everyone in the immediate family now knows what Josh told some of them and the important agents dealing with all this stuff have shared most of what they know with each other. Walter still has important knowledge he hasn't revealed, but he probably really can't say it.

In the previous chapter, I said that, when Kris' mom told him to walk Dean out, she probably sensed they needed to talk. Now that we got confirmation she had figured out about them, I'd say that's basically confirmation. And she had good advice in this episode, to not just stay silent. Advice that Dean could have also used these past weeks, when he almost waited too long to talk to Kris. With Kris being worried about Dean's reaction to the Toronto job, he should have been more proactive at suggesting he come with him. He had the opportunity to say it right when he said his mom was going to, but probably didn't know how to bring it up and then Dean didn't give him the chance after getting mad. And, just like Dean last week, Kris shouldn't have waited this long to tell him about the job. When Marcus left, Dean was angry at first, but quickly calmed down. With Kris, it's harder because it's the guy he loves and it's coming on top of also losing his brother. But I hope that either Dean realises before it's too late that they should talk calmly, or that Kris realises it's normal for Dean to be angry and is proactive at trying to talk to him before it's too late. They just need for one of them to make a move.

Thank you for the warning about Turbulence. I'll probably read it some day, given how much both of you praised it. But not yet, it feels like too much for me at the moment.

The intensity they felt was more than just friends, but they're in denial.
-
They're not homophobic and they have chemistry with each other, we'll see how that goes. They're already established as not the cheating type, but will it be the same if they find out they're interested in a guy?
-
Until @LittleBuddhaTW breaks that record by continuing "When I See You Again", which he recently moved from "abandoned" to "temporary hold".

Tbh, I'm not surprised Medellín is less popular than SftF, it feels less mainstream, but I'm enjoying it a lot. As for the Extra Innings, it's a shame, but your reasoning makes sense. Thank you for the new story recommendations, you tend to suggest good stuff.

That's true about take stories and it's important to keep in mind, but I knew that story was true because you wouldn't have presented the way you did if you weren't sure. It's great that you help people who need it, and not doing it with money seems like the right idea.

I don't even know any of those people and, just from one paragraph, I'm already mad at the sister and feel sad for the real life "Ferney". (I could elaborate, but I don't need to, the reasons are obvious.)
-
It sounds like Nate may already be interested in Evan, whether he realises it or not. He says Evan is good looking, calls him his Ace and wants to spend more time with him the day after they already spent the evening and night together.
