  1. There's a huge difference between intelligence and knowledge. Knowledge is how much you have learned and know; someone knowledgeable in one particular topic may not be so in another. That doesn't make either person dumb, it just means they have less or even no knowledge pertaining to the subject. Intelligence, as I have always considered it, is not how much you know or how much you have learned, but it is your apt and ability to learn and to gain knowledge. Who is more intelligent: the man that spends ten years learning a certain subject, or the man that gains half of that knowledge within three years? Who is more knowledgeable? Intelligence !== Knowledge

    Glee

The show is built around stereotypes and extremes; the whole point is to show an extreme, a stereotype, and delve into it; show that it's not just a stereotype, that you can't just label people. Everyone has a story; that sort of thing. In that sense, Kurt is the perfect character. And I actually love the story the show is taking him through right now; it's showing real problems that real gay teenagers really face everyday. Plus, Chris Colfer is a hawty. And Sam's character isn't going to be gay and/or bi anymore. He was originally going to be but the actor ended up having real offstage chemistry with the actress that plays Quinn, so they put him as her love interest instead. Blaine is apparently supposed to be Sam's replacement. On a complete random note, Mr. Schuester is really starting to piss me off. Although I knew it wasn't going to happen, I actually spent the entire episode hoping it would end with him remaining fired.

Three out of the four of those are amazing, and thus your entire argument is defunct. HOORAH.

W00 @ posting on a dead thread. I'd just like to say the Umbrella/Singin' In The Rain performance last night was fantastic. I've watched it several times since it aired last night, and I even saw a girl watching it in the TV lounge today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbZcYy6AAGg
  5. You don't have to remember a specific event for it to have an impact. In a lot of cases, the subtle, small things have a much grander effect on our brain than the in-your-face shit. Yelling louder than someone else isn't going to change their mind. People aren't reasonable and they don't change their minds because you tell them they're wrong; it's not effective. When you're bred to believe a certain thing, being direct rarely has any impact because by the time they get to that age it's like teaching an old dog new tricks. At the end of the day, you churn out far more results by slowly chipping away at someone's stubbornness and belief than it is to just go RAWR RAWR RAWR. Getting in someone's face and telling them they're wrong does nothing but piss them off.
  6. I thought it was fairly effective. Far more effective than a gay pride parade if you ask me. While a pride parade tends to show gay people as polar opposites, extremes, it doesn't help; I think it is completely counter productive. Whereas this helped people see that we're not all some obvious flamer (no offense intended) that can be picked out of a crowd; we're that normal kid that sits next to you that you never would have expected. I saw a lot of purple, far more girls than guys, but I even saw quite a few guys, and a lot of people that I wouldn't have expected (one guy even winked at me). I had four classes that day, and people talked about it in all four of them; my German teacher was even wearing purple. So I figure, that's roughly a 400-500 student that walked away knowing it; that's just my classes, not counting all the other 39,500 students. I say mission accomplished.
  7. I usually steer clear of this thread but DAMN; I'm jealous of both of you, God... If it were possible, those would be the cutest babies ever.
  8. !! I guess no one told him Bieber is a lesbian.

  10. BAH. I must admit to not seeing this post until just now. And I'll have you know it's not just any pineapple infatuation! I'm completely and utterly in love with them.
  11. Fashionably late as always. Happy belated Drew-skie (Like a brewskie except better)
  12. I'm sorry; I'm really trying to take you seriously, but my stance is much the same as Chase. You speak of being coherent and using correct grammar, and yet both of your posts within this thread are littered with atrocious grammar. But, I can try my best to ignore it; it's quite hard, being a grammar Nazi and all. I do understand where you are coming from, but if you think it's bad here, try reading some stories on Nifty...talk about horrible. I can not, for the life of me, read a lot of those stories any longer because the bridge between what the writer thought and what I read has long since vanished. Forums are meant to be laid back; posts are not essays and as such, grammar really is not imperative to make an impact. Yes, it betters your argument, but it is not a requirement. You can always do what I do: When in an argument, or a discussion, or anything within the forum, if you find someone using bad grammar, or spelling things incorrectly; let us say the person you are speaking with misspells the word sentence; you could always just instantly discredit them based on their grasp of English.

  14. Can we change the poll to a vampire story that doesn't suck? I know! How about Harry Potter vs. True Blood? That would be epic.
  15. So you're asking us to choose between this: And this: Oh gee how ever will I choose.
  16. The Arpeggiator? That's not at all geekish...
  17. Rizan is actually the name of a friend of mine from Italy. We met on a game I play online and after a year I was like "I love your name so I'm taking it" and so then we started calling each other the other's name...so he's Paul and I'm Rizan. And that is how that happened. Also, I'm debating changing my username to Noctis, in which case my name will be after the main character in Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Have you ever been on the X2 at Magic Mountain? Best experience ever.
  18. Warning: Long list ahead. Billy -- Still; obviously, how can anyone not?? Caedus -- Because he seems quite intelligent, he lives near me, and because he concedes that Tucson and UA beat Phoenix and ASU in every possible way. Rob -- His hair and the fact that he's english. Menorain -- He's...interesting, and that interests me; plus he's english, and cute. James -- Because he tends to be an asshole, and for some reason I'm attracted by that...go figure. Chase -- see James. Lace -- smart, kind, good at everything, and obviously he's cute; also, he lets me call him Lace which always makes me think of lace. Camilo -- Because of The Perks of Loving You Eros -- Because he's clearly hot, but I've never really gotten to know him. Jamie -- see Eros Nephy -- obvious Riley Jericho -- Have you seen his profile picture??? Cia -- ginger Patrick -- see Cia Anyone who likes Pineapples -- Because Pineapples are...amazing.
  19. Godric from True Blood. -drools-
  20. Any song that is by, features, or names Lil' Wayne. Any song in which the artist feels the need to name his or herself at the beginning. I know your name is Jason Derulo; I JUST DON'T GIVE A FLYING f**k. That ridin' solo song, I think it's by Jason Derulo as well. Anything by anyone that has ever or will ever be a product of the disney channel and/or nickelodeon. Nearly everything by Dragonforce; who likes spending 6 minutes listening to guitars and incoherent babbling?
  21. I'm okay with being honest: I am far different online than I am in life. I'm incredibly shy, and I won't approach people. I'm quiet and I often get a lot more attention than I care to. I'm not very social, and alcohol doesn't help at all. I have a personal bubble and I freak out when people break it, which they love to do. I'm awkward and I'm bad at small talk. I flinch a lot; I'm always afraid someone is going to hit me because when I was younger, I did get hit and beat up and picked on, a lot, by my own family and friends, when it was a stranger, it was far worse. I don't show much of any emotion besides laughter and 'smiling'; if I'm smiling, it's usually fake; I've been called selfish because of it more than once. I avoid eye contact at all costs; when someone is able to look me in the eyes for too long, I fear they see through me, and that scares me to no end. I switch between getting ignored and getting attention a lot; most of the time though, I get ignored. People don't usually listen to my opinions, or even listen to anything I say. I'd give anything to be someone else, to be more confident, more social; but it's just not who I am, and my family feels that they can change who I am by forcing me into their friends crowds. It doesn't work, and it just makes things worse. I'm always complacent when it comes to anything in life, I refuse to ever decide on a place to eat because I'd die knowing I chose a place someone else doesn't like, so I suck it up and eat at place and eat food that I hate and that makes me sick. I do the same thing when it comes to going places; I do them solely so other people can be happy, if I can't be happy, I might as well make someone else happy, right? All of that being said, when I'm around certain people, I can be hilarious and the life of a party (for a short time), but in the end, I always shoot back to my quiet, closed off self. When it's via message rather than voice or in person, I try and be as upbeat as humanly possible, but even in that, I always try and make others happy; my own happiness isn't important when it means jeopardizing the happiness of someone else. There are a few people online that I've met that I've developed crushes on, and although I'd love to express those feelings, I dare not jeopardize the friendship I have with them, because I know they don't feel the same way about me, and so I ignore the feelings as best I can so I can work on making them happy, because as long as they're happy, I've achieved something. /rant

    It

Going to be honest -- I saw a topic named 'It' and clicked on it fully expecting to have my mind blown, or have some sort of epiphone; 100% worked. Your words are so powerful they need not be spoken! -Enlightened-
  23. I don't see how people can still think the Xbox 360 is cheaper...could someone fill me in? XD And Menorain, I'm so disappointed. How could you mention VII before VIII? It's common knowledge that VIII was far greater of a game. Plus Squall is so much hotter than Cloud.
