  1. Well, I felt I should finally throw my input in, seeing as I rarely take the time to even check threads even more(too much clicking on laptop, I HATE THIS LAPTOP) I liked the books. I might be biased though, it was the first love story I had ever read(NOT JOKING)! And when you think about how shortly ago Breaking Dawn came out, that's really sad that I'd never read one before. It's also the reason I started looking for gay love stories, the reason that I found Nifty, where I found Perks of Loving You, where in turn I found Gay Authors. So ya, like I said, biased opinion. To think the writing is crap is, well, stupid. The woman who wrote it comes from here(Valley of he sun ftw) and yes, she is a latter day saint, and yes, she did attend to a mormon school. But set that aside and realize this, yes BYU is a mormon university, but it is also one of the best universities in the country, Mormon or not doesn't matter, so she has to be of at least higher level intelligence. Plus she majored in English. Yes, she is definitely no Shakespeare(I personally hate shakespeare) but she is NOT a bad writer, just writing a story not all people like. Not that these things necessarily makes her a better writer than anyone else, but she has to be at least much better than whatever idiot wrote harry potter to have attended BYU. Most of the hate I see from twilight is based on two honestly stupid reasons. A.) It 'ruins' vampire stories, B.) every teenage girl in America loves it. Those are stupid reasons to hate a story, in my opinion at least. Legends and stories evolve, the vampires that are cold heartless and burst into flames are not the original, if they hadn't evolved to that the only vampire stories would involve Vlad the Impaler and his many-a human heads on fences. This is simply another version of the legend, it is not ruining it, it's evolving. While still on that point, sparkling vampires IS more realistic than bursting into flames. Vampires are very pale and have skin harder than the hardest rocks on earth, correct? Well let's all take a trip back to high school science and ask ourselves two questions, a.) what's the hardest rock on Earth?, and b.) What are it's qualities? The answer is diamond, and it's sparkles. That's right I just pulled chemistry and physics on your asses. Enjoy and last I checked, diamonds do not burst into flames when in sunlight. This is her adaptation, don't criticize it just 'cause it's different then yours. And also not liking a book because everyone else likes it is just plain stupid, it doesn't make you a follower just because you read something everyone else reads, what makes you a follower is liking or hating it solely on that. Like I said, my opinion is biased. Apologizing in advance for the over dramatic statement. I was at a bad time in my life, I just lost a friend and almost lost my brother, already hated my life and myself, and had already tried to kill myself once. Twilight helped me, I know it sounds retarded, but it did. And then I found Nifty, like I already said, and the stories(the ones of love, not sex sex sex) made me feel a lot better(Reading == great pick-me-up. And yes I do in fact know I'm pathetic). So if I hadn't read twilight, i'd probably be dead, so you understand why my opinion is quite biased. Oh and I agree, the movies suck. Silent movies had more dialogue than Twilight. New Moon was slightly better but still pretty much like dog-shit. I found myself liking Jacob more than Edward in the movies, whereas in the books I was an Edward fanatic. They either picked a crappy actor or they're trying to portray him in a different way then I did in my head. Oh and Jacob and Edward fans: ALICE ALL THE WAY!

  4. Ok well first off now I want to ask you why you had that under your bed but i do have a couple awkward moment stories, so everyone sit down and have some popcorn; STORY TIME! Ok the first time was back when my mom started dating her current and soon-to-be-ex husband. We were without a home at the time so I would switch back between staying at my aunt's and staying at his trailer, well I learned to quickly dread staying in that trailer because they'd have sex EVERY night. For those who don't know, sex + trailer = me not able to sleep...Well one night I finally got tired of it so I got up and went out into the main roomish part where they were and they stopped right in the middle of it and stared at me for like 5 minutes until I finally said "you know it's really hard to sleep when you're doing that" then walked back and went to sleep. They never had sex again in that trailer when I was there Second story, we moved into a new house shortly after they got married, and their shower wasn't functional at the time so they had to use my brother's and I's. Well one morning I was taking a shower and I look at the shelf and there's this weird purple thing. At first I thought it was some weird bottle of shampoo so I grabbed it to look at it and then found out what it actually was, a hard disgusting purple vibrator -.-' Well after seeing THAT in the place where I CLEAN myself I couldn't finish taking the shower. I got out, got dressed, used toilet paper to pick up the thing and took it to my mom who then stared at me for a couple seconds in a sort of mix between awestruck and embarrassment before taking it out of my hands and walking very quickly away. And the last one was a lot more recent. My brother was about to leave for college so he gave up his apartment and moved back in with us for the couple of weeks beforehand. Well him and his girlfriend, who was a good friend of mine, would have sex on his huge lazy bag thingy and a couple days before their accident I walked in on 'em when I had to take a piss xD That last one wasn't with parents but it was very awkward nonetheless that's all

I figure at least one person here has to be a Michael Jackson fan, or at least a fan of Thriller. As a common rule NAU's marching band show is always past hit songs, well this year in a sort of tribute to Michael Jackson they chose Thriller as the 4th song in their show.
  8. I counted 26, and at least 10 that I've wanted to read but have been too 'busy' to do. my favorite 3 are To Kill a Mockingbird, Animal Farm, and 1984 I read 1984 last year, To Kill a Mockinbird as a freshman, and Animal Farm in 5th grade I'm surprised Fahrenheit 451 isn't on here, I read that one in 5th grade too
  9. Hehe, they do! I made sure to check fold down the backseats, opens the moonroof, ahhh hrm...i should put a blanket in there
  10. I apologize, 'Lorri' is very cute, as is her owner
  11. a 1994 Navajo Mazda, first car ftw. It's got a moon roof!!!!:lmao: so ftw.
  12. AH so many cute guys my age Haha. that is one cute hat/beanie thing Camilo
  13. Well, I only live 2 hours from vegas, like I already said, so I SHOULD be able to attend, but the times might be conflicting for me it all depends when i decide to move and to where I'm moving, if I'm lucky I may be able to time it right to go up to vegas for that weekend then right after that move, which would be perfect timing, but I honestly don't know this close to the date...So I guess sign me up for a possible attend? and I'm sure Benji knows even more about the things to do then I do, but if people are willing to pay out the money it costs they have some awesome shows, including phantom at the venetian! went and saw that a couple years back
  14. Ugh it's called propaganda people. I'm not saying that Oprah isn't a good person with good intentions who does things just out of the goodness of her heart or just because she doesn't have too, but of course she is going to do these small things that no one considers small, of course she's going to go to a local news studio as if it were nothing... All because if you think it's for nothing you'll see her as a good noble person, which is what they want, because then you'll listen to her opinions and her causes and pretty much do and agree with whatever she says just because 'she looks like a good person' Again, not saying she's not, just saying that's how they want her to look.
  15. I've owned a cell phone since i was...12-14, and before that I only ever wore a watch if it was a real expensive one that I could gloat about
  16. Wow I didn't realize how hard it would be to choose my favorite Linkin Park song, but I did it!! Breaking the Habit - Linkin Park Memories consume Like opening the wound I'm picking me apart again You all assume I'm safe here in my room Unless I try to start again [bridge:] I don't want to be the one The battles always choose 'Cause inside I realize That I'm the one confused [Chorus:] I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream I don't know why I instigate And say what I don't mean I don't know how I got this way I know it's not alright So I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit Tonight Clutching my cure I tightly lock the door I try to catch my breath again I hurt much more Than anytime before I had no options left again [bridge:] I dont want to be the one The battles always choose 'Cause inside I realize That I'm the one confused [Chorus:] I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream I don't know why I instigate And say what I don't mean I don't know how I got this way I'll never be alright So, I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit Tonight [bridge:] I'll paint it on the walls 'Cause I'm the one at fault I'll never fight again And this is how it ends [Chorus:] I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream But now I have some clarity to show you what I mean I don't know how I got this way I'll never be alright So, I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit I
  17. I wouldn't know but I hope I find it, and I hope it's worth it
  18. Huh well...if I had to choose, there are two favorites of mine... A place we have in town called Aflonso's, it's a family owned mexican fast food place...Like everyone here knows about it, they make the best breakfast burrito's and carne asada fries ever(at least in my opinion)! And then my other choice would be Chili's...yes I'm a typical teenager who loves chain restaurants, and Chili's has like the best queso dip ever...lol
  19. That's why I'm avoiding listening to 'em, but I'll probably end up listening anyways mainly two songs off the top of my head make me cry...in fact I'm listening to one right now trying to keep the tears back - This is the live version, it was the same day her grandpa died so she had trouble singing a lot of her songs and even broke down while singing one in his memory - self explanatory, had to watch quite a bit of my friends and family die in my life, most of the funerals I've been to have played this song
  20. Uh...This is gonna make some people wanna slap me in the face but...I don't even really know what fan-fiction is.......And I didn't even know such a thing existed called Slash Fiction =X But luckily I have wikipedia to aid me.
  21. I don't know why, but personally I think Allan Hyde would have made a good Aang, although he is definitely too old for the part
  22. WHAT?! How can you not love the sponge and the bob??? SpongeBob is one of the only two shows that guided me in my earlier years(The other of course being Rugratz!) I hail the Sponge
  23. I enjoyed the series, it'll be nice to see a live action remake of it, I'm a horrible critic when it comes to movies and do usually succumb to the awesomeness that is 21st century CGI, so even if it's horrid I'll enjoy it(I know, I'm a sucker when it comes to movies, but hey, when I want substance I'll read a book, when I want pure entertainment(Usually in the form of blood, gore, and explosions) and awesome graphics I watch a movie) Also, I think Jackson Rathbone is very sexy, mainly it's just those eyes that get me I'm also quite interested to see what twist M Night Shyamalan will add to it
  24. I'm gonna go ahead and proudly be the first person to say Nightmare Before Christmas...I don't think it's possible for someone to not at least like that movie There's also this other that I can't remember the name of that I saw one Halloween when I was much younger, I know it's a more kid oriented movie, got these kids and it turns out their grandma is a witch and they go on a flying bus to this fantasy city or something or other...IDK I'm not really the scary movie type, although I can watch them and enjoy them(especially if there is a hot guy or girl there with me), just not my cup of tea I guess, much more into the comedic ones.
