    Story

I agree. The foundation of a relationship is twofold: trust and communication. But, when you're with someone long enough to feel like you're not yourself if you're not with them... I can see that making it hard to decide. There are so many aspects of a situation, unless you're in it, I think it is very difficult to say how you would or wouldn't react. Thanks for the review, Dabeagle.

    Chapter 14

Thanks, LitLover!! I know, right? I chuckled when I wrote that line, too. We're getting to know him beyond his surface conceit, but he still has some of it... and with the return to the city, more was coming back out.

    Chapter 14

Thanks Scary! I'd slipped into 3rd person there for a minute, and it should've read, I handed them over, which I've fixed. Thanks for reading and reviewing!!

    Chapter 14

I made Teddy repeat our cover story several times as we picked our way through the cavern and into the tunnel under the city. We were close to the entrance back into the city. I looked at Teddy critically. We were both dirty, and there were stains on our clothes that would be hard to explain from a crawl through the city taverns. Not that I’d ever been much of one for indulging for days, but it would explain our absence from the dining table to my parents. Parlor gossip and stilted social mores

    Effort

Try creating a micro goal for yourself. Don't expect to sit down and write 30-90 minutes at a wack if that isn't your normal rate or you're just starting out. Try a paragraph. Outline a chapter you want to write. Sometimes, when you put less pressure on yourself, it's a lot easier to get sucked into writing and stick with it longer.

    Effort

Writing takes dedication. If you really want to do it, and you can't tear yourself away from technology, you're going to have issues. Quite often I have to go offline, turn off skype, put in headphones and ignore my family all day to get work done. It's hard nowadays, but it can be done!!
  7. I read a TON of traditional and MM sci-fi, as well as write it. James and Graeme make excellent points! There is a balance that must be struck between realistic and futuristic. The technology needs to feel believable, as well as easily understood without a ton of explanations. This is what I consider to be the hardest aspect of sci-fi. You can make up a ton of stuff, and that's a lot of fun, but that also means you have to be careful not to confuse your reader. You have to remember that your world is being told from a particular viewpoint, so you can't just drop a ton of back story or explanations unless it makes sense for your character to think or comment about it to share with the reader. For example, a character wouldn't be thinking about the coalition of planets coming into being a hundred years before he was born, creating some sort of planetary alliance to enable a prosperous trading environment, unless he's a trader, or a teacher, or there's some huge event threatening the peace he can reference to explain why he'd be thinking/talking about it to another character.

    Space Vampires!

Okay, this is funny because I am posting the third story in what has been called my 'Space Vampires' trilogy. That, and it's just soooo true at times! " data-width="466"> Post by Jena Gregoire.

    Chapter 1

I really like this, though I'm wanting to know who or what an Emerald is, not to mention Dan and his relationship to the main character. Maybe you'll continue the storyline in another prompt response to answer the curiosity you raised? *hint, hint*

    Chapter 13

LOL! No, no tilting allowed. Thanks for catching up! The flash group limits are 500-1000 words, but I always try to get right up to the limit (occasionally beyond, but I try to be good) for each week's installment. I think my biggest challenge with these is to go back through each one and edit, not just for mistakes, but to make each sentence pack the best bang for its buck, so to speak. Thanks for noticing!

Mind control? Would I do that? As for your thoughts, well, hmmm... Could you be right? Maybe. Maybe not.

    Chapter 11

LOL! Will is pretty determined. Anna... well, I can't say much without spoiling more, but I have to agree.

    Chapter 10

Dang it! I keep missing reviews. I need to check and see if my notifications are not going to my email like they should! I'm so sorry faxity, but thank you for commenting! I feel the same way about Teddy, actually, LOL!

    Chapter 13

“We made it out!” Teddy said. I clapped a hand over his mouth and whispered in his ear, “Not so loud.” Teddy nodded, and I slowly moved my hand off his face. “Loud bad.” Wildman glared at us. I gave him a narrow-eyed look in return. Did he think we were just going to forget his ability to talk? Go back to thinking he was a simple feral creature who was barely surviving? “Don’t start that. We know you can talk.” “Not here,” he hissed. Clouds finally hid the moon from view, hiding the terrain
  19. Just an fyi, we have a feature in Stories called 'Advanced Search' that will let you sort search Stories by criteria like genre, tags, rating, status, and then how your results are ordered by title, reads number of reviews, most recent update, etc... That's not as helpful here, when you're looking for a specific trope within the plot, but it's still a handy feature for readers to know about when they are first looking for reads on the site.
  20. Let it Go by Sid Love My rating: 4 of 5 stars For me, Let it Go, ranks 3.75 stars. The writing is generally smooth, and the slang terms were kept separate for the different nationalities, which I know is tricky when you're writing a foreign character. There were some typos and a pretty big character oops when one of the two main characters, Virat, says his wife doesn't speak good English--and then she comes right out fluent as can be later in the story. I was able to overlook most of the issues, though, and really enjoy the characters' journey. Damon is an interesting character. At first I thought he was a photographer, based on the beginning. I liked his personality, though. Like most people, he saw something he wanted but when he realized he couldn't have it, he tried to do the right thing... but is the right thing always what everyone else thinks is best? And we find out that Damon's love interest, newlywed Virat, isn't quite sure what the right thing is either. His wife of just days is a sweet, wonderful woman, and he loves her. But is that enough? They both have a lot of miscommunication going on between them, and everyone else in the story. The true question comes at the end of the book... "What happened next?" and I'm so glad we find out with a lovely epilogue. The Bittersweet Dreams angle scared me, but I was quite happy by the time I hit 'The End'. View all my reviews

Hi Gary! I'm so sorry I missed this review, too! I'm glad you enjoyed Lisco's POV for this story. I felt it was really necessary to share from each character, and his stood out as the one who needed to share this installment. As for a fifth installment... well, maybe! LOL Thanks again!

I'm apologizing for missing a ton of reviews now, including this one. Thank you so much, Wayne! Writing 4 stand-alone stories wasn't easy, but I can't wait to put all these together in a whole for readers. Each guy has a special part in my mind, and they bring individual needs to their relationship that makes them a whole--just like the stories I wrote. I'm so glad you enjoyed them. Thanks again!

I'm so sorry I missed your review, Cole. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your thoughts. I loved the farm scene, too. I really wanted to show how love in life is a day to day growing process. Thanks again!

Thank you! I really wanted to let the guys each be part of the others--not 2 in a relationship and 1 coming in. I don't like that type of MMM stories, either. In this, they are all very much equals. I'm glad you enjoyed the story, luv4rain!
