  1. Sure you can! Have you looked at the first story I ever wrote? The Price of Honor is still up here in its unedited form, mostly as an object lesson. I had NO idea what I was doing. Dialogue punctuation all over the place, head hopping, POV switches, tense changes, plot arc holes... but the bones of the story are good. Before that, I didn't know I could tell a story--I had to try it first. Then I knew I wanted to learn how to tell a story well. So I began to study writing sources, researching grammar rules, etc. and I kept writing. Most people learn best by doing. GA is a wonderful site that is very supportive of new authors. So if you have a story to tell, tell it! Just make sure you write the story to the best of your ability--and get one or more beta/editors, they're invaluable.
  2. Oh yeah, that story really got my emotions going. It's a wonderful short!
  3. Lovely review. Life is, in so many ways, far more interesting than fiction. Thank you for sharing your story, Bob, and to Percy for the review.

LOL! I said to make a post in an existing topic, not start a new one. Ah well, this works too. Welcome to GA, Angeleyez. Also, so you know, we have a pretty comprehensive FAQ about how to use the various areas of the site that can be found through the Help tab in the red menu bar.

    Chapter 1

If she's friends with them, why didn't she go check on him? Does he live too far away? Why did the police call her? Is she his only contact? Cops usually call next of kin, and he mentions a brother. Why did Carlos leave him? Before all that happened? Because he couldn't become a woman? Because he wanted to become a woman and Carlos found out? Sam's story is so sad, and so hard to understand in a way--I'm the person I'm supposed to be inside my body. I can't imagine the pain of not being able to fix something so fundamental, but suicide is sad. Giving up hope that things can get better. Definitely a story not for the faint of heart, and it raises so many questions.

    Starting Over

That brought a tear to my eyes! Soooo sad. Losing my family in car accidents scares the crap out of me, since I've been in fatality ones before. Being left behind would be awful, especially when you're the one who is used to going into danger. I loved the symbolism of Kanga and Roo. Thanks for sharing, Dyno.

    Epilogue

One never knows! Reviews always remind me of older stories, and where they could go. I'm glad you like the happy ending--that's kinda my thing. I'm a meanie to my characters through the story, but I like to see them happy at the end. Usually. Thanks so much for the reviews, blankpage29!

    Chapter 1

Thank you! The idea of a threesome is often popular with readers. The concept of shifters being aliens who shift into humans as their 'non-natural' form is a bit of a twist. I think taking the familiar tropes and twisting them makes it more fun to write, and read. Now to figure out how 3 virgins can possibly come together as a three-way couple... that should be interesting! Thanks for reviewing, hun!

    Chapter 1

Of course! I plan to keep going with these guys. It's not fall yet, sorry, but I can't wait to write them on the stake. I have some interesting plot ideas to come. Miah is very much a victim of circumstance, but he's no victim. Thanks for reviewing, Wayne!

    Epilogue

Thank you! I don't revisit my backlist very often, but sometimes reviews make me remember a story. I had ideas for a sequel, but they've been on hold forever. Who knows what I might do? If you like this type of teen fiction, keep an eye out for my futuristic, somewhat post-apoc sci-fi teen novella coming out complete this summer!

    Chapter 8

Aww, speechless is a great compliment! Thanks so much for reviewing, blankpage29.

    Chapter 1

Wow! Quite the review, Ron. I think good science fiction is all about taking the familiar one step farther, and making the unfamiliar relatable. I kept thinking the guys are a lot like of teens are before they really catch on to what's going on with them physically. They know, but they don't KNOW. Miah, well, he's just driven and a bit shy without wanting to admit it. So desperately wanting to reach out, but awkward as hell letting anyone see that side of him. Well, in this story, he doesn't have much choice. Thank you so much for the great review, Ron, and thanks for reading!

    Chapter 1

Two. I plan to span the year. Everyone loves Moshe, it's great. The problems with his recovery are easy for me to write, because I know what it's like to depend on others to do every. single. thing. And it sucks, but at least my people weren't strangers, lol. Thanks for reading, Mann!

    Chapter 1

Yeah, well, some of the biggest guys I know are the most gentle. It fits with Moshe's personality, to a T. Sorry, I can't make summer come to a close faster, but I really hope you enjoy all the stories in the meantime. Thanks for the review, Puppilull.

    Chapter 1

Thanks, Cole! I really felt this story needed to show his emotions, based on what was happening. I'm glad it didn't seem too 'I have no self-worth' which isn't really how I see Miah. Thanks again for the review.
  16. That was the awesome, and multi-talented, AJ, Ron. Sometimes, to really shake things up, I read one from the top, then one from the bottom, then one from the top...)
  17. Moshe and Lisco tried courting Miah their way, but it didn't turn out how they'd expected. Now he's injured and has to depend on them. How can he have the life he's always planned? Moshe and Lisco don't want to change his dream, they just want to be a part of it. But can they convince Miah?

    Chapter 1

“So where is home? And if you say that damn dome, I’m going to call Dr. Connor back,” I said. The shifters wanted to take care of me until I could take care of myself, however long that took. Until then, my plans to get out to my stake and start working on my future were on hold. “Oh, no. We have a nice apartment on the south edge of the city.” Moshe grinned. “Big enough for me, even.” I raised one eyebrow. “There are no nice apartments on the edge of the city. Now, apartments on the north si

    Chapter 25

He hasn't gotten that far yet. Most of the time, his memories are triggering from events. The brain makes a connection and boom! memory. We'll see how he reacts to... other memories, coming up soon. Thanks for reading, 1brokNangel.

    Chapter 25

So much more coming! I've already a good start on the next chapter, but I need this coming week's flash prompts before I go farther.

    Chapter 25

“Poking and prodding is all done, right?” Yuri and Benny surprised the doctors with how well they healed, and Yuri was eager to get to Benny’s surprise. Dr. Vancould was cautious about being too optimistic. “I don’t think we need to give you another dose of venom,” Millie said. “Maybe in six months we can repeat the treatment. Right now, your brain is furiously at work, stimulated by the neurotoxin proteins latching onto the cell receptors in your brain at rates I’ve never seen before.” “So I’

    Chapter 15

I'm glad you like them. Likes are great, but reviews are better. I tried to really connect the latter stories to the earlier ones, but hopefully readers could pick up any story and be okay with understanding the central plot. Thanks for reading and reviewing, blankpage29!

    Chapter 7

LOL! I know, I know! So many stories, though, and so little time to write them all. I could explore most of my characters and worlds 10x over--if only I were better at churning out the words. Still, I'm so glad you enjoyed this short. Thanks again for all the reviews, Suvitar!

    Chapter 6

Awww, I'm sorry. Not really, I mean, I love drawing emotion from readers, but yeah... not everything can be perfect.

    Chapter 5

Yes, I didn't give them very long, at all. Probably not realistic of me, but hey, I wanted my guys together! lol
