I think I would like to see Calvert show up just before the depart and perhaps with the privateer Vulture under his command. Then they could send Humphries in THAT ship and allow Granger's to remain. And if all the previous officers are dead or about to be hanged, perhaps with Maidstone then life would be so much better for everyone. I am concerned that the news of Granger's condition may cause severe repercussions in England. The King will feel awful because he hand picked Granger for this mission. Sure, people are commanded into battle in his name often, but he hand picked this man himself, and that gives him a face and a name. So he may see some huge elevation in his rank, status and peerage when he gets back. And the Prince of Wales may already be working to see that his family is taken care of. Even if he is still alive. A twist would be for his death to be assumed and for the Duke to take Caroline for his wife since she is carrying his child. Thus insuring that both, Granger's family AND the Royal bastard would be taken care of. And if the child is born AFTER they marry then he would not be a bastard. But Mark never throws us curve balls does he. (Notice the lack of a question mark.) (lol) The twist would allow Granger to be alone with Calvert sailing around all over the Mediterranean for the rest of their days. Who knows what twisted plot Lord Arbour will hatch. Just know that it is bound to be twisted tighter than sisal rope and never what we expect.

Perhaps he thinks that Maidstone has a sizable force on the way. Get rid of the man who directs them and perhaps buy some time or gain an upper hand because they will arrive expecting Maidstone to not only be there but to also be in charge. Or perhaps the dispatches are important enough to warrant such an act.

Sommers knows they are coming. Best not to tip their hand to Maidstone. Obviously the communications are extremely important. Perhaps information on the smuggling. Perhaps he is laying out the treasonous acts I'm sure he knows George is going to be pissed. IF he survives. He knew Bertie might try and do something to keep him there, that's one of the things he made Chartley swear to in Bertie's name. But because of that, he will assume that whatever made him send his ship off without him was important enough to do just that. And Maidstone might be out of there but that I fear is when he will be the most dangerous. He doesn't like to get his hands dirty.What better alibi could he ask for than to be on a ship on his way back to England. My fear is a plot to kill the good doctor might fix both problems, killing both, Jackson AND Granger.

Ok Mark, That was fantastically awful. You've set a whole new bar for cliffhangerness. Having a propensity to state the obvious, I'll move on. Let's look at what we know about Maidstone's operation and the loose ends so far. He's selling to The French and Spanish by laundering the goods in S. America. He has a privateer "expected" to try and attack the Matilda. Calvert has not yet shown up and may or may not be on his way back to England. There is a butt load of Silver and coins on both ships, Calverts AND Grangers. Granger, if he recovers will have to return in a much slower ship, perhaps with Calvert? Humphries and company are traveling back with news that George was on death's doorstep when they left. The Duke of Clarence will be happy about this. The Prince of Wales has promised to look out for Granger's kids. Granger's grandfather has yet to enter the picture in word or deed. And Maidstone is an ass.

OK, the bus bit threw me a little. They drive to school! We had a big parking lot make out session and suddenly they are on the bus? And one more thing, the glasses. They seldom hide their eyes unless they are told they are cloudy or unattractive and almost never at night, that would draw even more attention. And since he has beautiful unseeing eyes, he most likely wouldn't hide them. Save it for the rewrite. A great chapter but I don't know where this suddenly came from regarding his mother's wish to separate them. At 18 he can do what he wants, his father sure won't throw him out. we'll see. On to the next.

I hope not. And even if he is relegated to a shore assignment, he still has a seat in the house of lords. I could see Mark rolling this into a political saga with just as much intrigue. And hey, it may not be the fever at all, it may just be a bad flu strain. Who knows. We won't know anything until Lord Arbour graces us once again. Time will tell.

Well now then. Both parents know Too cool but what about their two friends? Wil their parents be ok? AAnd now everyone at school knows they are together. It should be interesting at school.

A delightful chapter. And I'm glad to see his mom come around. And they didn't even have to talk about Aaron. I'm enjoying this like I do ALL your stories. And THIS one's completed! So no annual wait period!

So it wasn't a squirrel. One thing that didn't quite fit was the part about him lifting weights on the weekend. Its painted so that they appear to never be apart. So if one lifted weights, they both would have. Especially with him not being able to take sports. It just hit me as odd, that's all. A great story though.

The plot thickens. Its good that they have friends but I'd be nuts to think that was a squirrel.

I love the intensity of their love. Its so real. Teens love with their all. There are no levels of love, its either on or off. Something tells me his parents are going to be alright with it too. Well done. On to the next.
