The fireing of the ships had to fill the harbor with smoke as well. This may aid in their escape from the fort. Glad to see Humphries and Fitzwilliams but confused. Wasn't Granger the only one sent there? Clearly someone is trying to spread out the fleet. Me thinks there is a Royal rat in the castle! Now, what of these four repatriated captains? Are they going to be a problem? Will they want his captured ship? Will Granger's orders give him the clout to become the comadore of the Pacific fleet so to speak? Or will he have someone with seniority try and take over. And what of the Captured English ships? We don't know if Humphries and Fitzwilliams were on the same vessel. Does this mean there are two English ships and perhaps an American one now acting as privateers? Lots of questions. Thanks for throwing us a bone Mark. When a chapter of Granger's exploits sets sail everything in life stops while I read. Those Kenworth Truck horns are difficult to tune out. Can't they see the flashers! Well he would have a bit of trouble returning the way he came with the smaller ships. But it would indeed be interesting to see him return with a new Pacific fleet. The prior knowledge of his arrival is a bit disturbing. And he has no way to contact England. No mail ships or dispatches until he gets to his destination. Obviously something is afoot. I just hope his family is not involved in this mess. This is going to be a mess of epic proportions. A Spanish Galleon would certainly be an accomplishment. And remember that he was asked about being an escort for the Spanish Treasure ships. I wonder if when one surrenders to him easily he is surprised to find them bearing orders from the king for him to do just that. That would make the cheese a bit more binding wouldn't it? And it wold be just like Lord Arbour to throw in such a twist.

That was flat AWESOME Mark. Love every word of it. As usual, he has rescued another nobleman. I wonder if the five he has conscripted into his crew will maintain their allegiance when they get closer to their own lands. Of course the men left were probably conscripted into the Spanish Navy as well so its not like they have any allegiance to spain. I look forward to the great battle that most assuredly will occur when they get near that particular port. It looks like it may be a couple of chapters away however as the Cape is going to be some nasty business. My understanding is that there ARE no calm seas there at ANY time of year. Certainly not a place you want to encounter another hostile force! I can't wait for the adventure. Thanks again Mark. It was truly a surprise and a very welcome one. Another well done chapter. I would personally liked to have seen him finally come out to Joel. Its long overdue. An interesting surprise finding Joel's mother there. She had not been to their house since they moved so I can only surmise that his mother called her. Tanner coming out to his family is scary. They dislike him and gays enough to start talking about boarding school or military school. But shipping him off would be a story stopper. But I don't see anything good coming from it. I would have liked to see his mom tell him to call him and have him come over seeing that he was distressed over coming out. But alas. I guess we still have the first sleep over to look forward to. I mean its not like they have to be worried about getting pregnant right? No matter HOW hard they try. But if it doesn't go well telling them, his mother may just have to pick up a second job to feed another mouth. Now that would be an interesting development. I just hope we don't have to wait until January of 2014 to find out. The posting schedule for this story is disappointing. And considering its one of your best stories, that's a shame. I read each new chapter with trepidation wondering if there will be another chapter soon. It's even kept me from reading anything new my friend, no matter how good your stories are. But I do watch for your stories to complete so that I can read them without worry. It would restore my faith a bit if you focused on this one to completion.

OH thank Gawd! I'll put the razor blades back in the drawer. As for the choice, there isn't one. We'll wait in between for the next. Knowing there was one sitting that could be read waiting for a stock pile is simply not an option.

My bad, I didn't mean to imply anything. Believe it or not MOST people would not think of using the natural environment to replace that which is plugged into the wall. I only know because I lived in Alaska for six years and it was a common occurrence. And we have electricity and my fridge still has some unplanned science experiments growing in there. A great story. So glad I found it. It was a favorite on someone's profile so I just clicked on it and couldn't stop until I got to the end of what was written so far. It seems that Lucca is the kicked puppy that everyone falls in love with. And he's clueless that he is so loved. And the fact that Matt loves him and he is unaware of it is going to make this a heart breaking saga. Jeremy will probably be the catalyst. He's strung tighter than a new banjo. And Lucca walked in and swept him out of Jeremy's arms. At least in Jeremy's view. I think that when Matt shows up at the birthday party with Sam and Jeremy there it's going to put Lucca off on all birthdays, christmas and he ma go gunning for the easter bunny. The story is well fleshed and your characters have taken on life. It's complex in the relationships and the way they were carefully knitted together. A total delight to read and a real page turned. I can't wait for the next chapter. So lets get on it ok.

Oh crap. The kids dad is trying to beat the gay away. This sucks. Great story but I somehow think you're going to have to write a little faster.

Just read 10. Glad to finally have the time to read a bit. Not too sure how much I'll get done but . . . One thing that is a little off is the reference to how they address the dad. Daddy is a younger reference. As they are older and "active" they are also starting to feel their independence. So they would naturally lose the "y" on the end as they start to deal with him on a more level plane of existence.Just my thoughts. A great chapter. On to the next as soon as I start the laundry.

A welcome chapter in my favorite story. Well done Lord Arbour. It sounds like a new ship's master is in order. Perhaps Mr Maurice will suffice? Perhaps a search of his papers will reveal a much larger plot and make Granger alter his course directly for Maidstone. The big question is what to do with his new problem. If it is proved that this discontent was concocted by his ship's master I suppose that could be considered mutiny. A hanging offense. Uncharted waters lay ahead. I can't wait!

Your ability to flesh a character and to present banter that flows so well the reader feels the emotions presented, or in some cases makes them remember their own feelings in a similar setting is awesome. You're a natural. And now you are hooked. I can see it. A goodly chunk of your social life just got redirected to the keyboard. Lucky us! Well done.

Wow. a bit extreme. I didn't pick up ont eh same vibes that Jacob did. It was more like they were satisfying a curiosity. Perhaps I heard it in fragments. But i just think that perhaps they were making things into something they weren't. Meeting things head on is always the best way don't you think? They met the boys curiosity with openness and sincerity. I didn't perceive an ulterior motive or a malignant event occurring. But again, I was half listening and perhaps I missed something. . . The other boys didn't seem intent on anything untorrid occurring, just answering Mathews curiosities. And straightforward as well. I think anything else might have been questionable. But making light of it and answering his questions might have been the best option without making it a greater event than it was.

Great shower scene. A beautiful love story. I don't want to say more for fear that I will spoil it for others. But : Damn!" Mathew seems to be the perpetual catalyst in this story. Nick seems to be a willing accomplice to the directive. Off to the next. hot, hot, hot!

Wow. Mathew really surprised me with the second kiss to nicholas. But he is a fearless little warrior isn't he? I hope Nicholas' outing t his mother goes a bit better. I fully expect the mom to be gone when they get back and the tide to turn. Kyle knows that hurt. It would be his turn to comfort Jacob and Mathew. We shall see. On to the next.
