  1. Chapter Thirty-Three: Blood Vines Soon after Greg left the arena he received Landon’s message. He wanted them to meet. More than that, he wanted them to undergo the ritual of Entwining. A soon as he memorized the address he threw the letter into the fireplace using the poker to scatter the ashes. He hated himself. Why had he let so much time pass without telling Ryan about his relationship with the Chicago Chosen? He wasn’t even sure why he was still a willing to be the Chosen’s lo
  2. Chapter Thirty-Two: The End of the Beginning As Landon left the arena he was met by Lord Omicron and his son “Sorry about how things worked out. We could have become such good friends. But it seems your family has decided to join the Order.” Jon tried to grab Landon by the throat but was held back by his father. “You Coven bastard… you did this to Andy!” “Not me… Converting little kids is not my style. As for you Lord Omicron I will be very putout if anything unfortunate were to happe
  3. Hey, I just posted this last chapter yesterday so it will be a while before the next one goes up. I have it all written already but want to give people time to read the posted chapters before posting the next one. Right now I am hoping for this to be a 4-5 part series. Almost all of Talents of the Fallen has been posted. The next one Curse of the Fallen won't be up until I have finished the first rough draft of the three book in the series. There will therefore be a gap before Book II is posted. I also have other projects I'm working on such as the Gods of Mir and the sequel to the Centurion Cycle series. Right now I have no one as an editor for the Fallen series but I will try to do better about the mistakes. Thanks again.
  4. Sure, Aaron has the ability to see and control the otherwise invisible particles of energy that make up a person's talent. For a better description see chapter 19. When Aaron losing his goggles in the arena his light sensitive eyes are blinded. His ability to see the energy that makes up a person's Talent however still remained. Since Jon's Physical Talent never leaves his body, Aaron finds a way to use that to see him and just like he is able to control the Talent of others he was able to take control of Jon's and heal himself with it. I hope this helped.
  5. Chapter Thirty-One: The Arena Formal dueling was not quite the same as club dueling. The gear was completely different. Each combatant was given a symbol to show what position they were playing. Joshua the mentalist was given a gold helm, Jon a gold shield, Sam a whip, Andy a set of gold spheres, and Aaron a pair of gold batons. The other team would be similarly equipped except their equipment would appear to be made of silver. The rules were as follows: The matches are to be singl
  6. Chapter Thirty: Match Makers The day of the North American Council Tournament finally arrived and Aaron couldn’t be more nervous. It was not the duels that worried him. It was that Andy and Jon both intended to introduce him to their powerful fathers. The first one he met was Andrew’s. Lord Oliver was tall yet heavyset… his best days clearly behind him. Still, he had a keen mind and a love for intrigue. Under his leadership the Order had recovered ground they had lost to the Coven und

  8. Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Faith of the Elected When Landon received the report that Aaron and the others had reached Chicago with no further incidence he could finally allow himself to move on to other issues. The first and most important one was finding out who had been behind it. While he was tapped into the network he was able to track down the ships that had the island surrounded. Whoever was behind it had come prepared. Beside the three cargo freighters they had brought with them
  9. There are two different versions of the audio book out there... the one that came out when the book did and the extended version that came out with the movie. Like with the original version the extended one has nothing to do with the movie but includes a lot of pretty good side stories/ interviews in it. Felt sort of cheated when the later version came out as I bought both.
  10. Chapter Twenty-Eight: Escape As soon as he was outside the control room Gordon dashed full speed down to the mainframe vault. The scientist had been more right than he knew. There would be no recreating the data… not for years to come. If Gordon didn’t get his hands on the core all his research it would be lost for good. He would not let it be destroyed so easily. Entering the vault was not easy. Given all the valuable data it held it was never meant to be. The Graft had taken steps
  11. Chapter Twenty-Seven: Treachery What Ryan said was true, the creatures were far from appearing human. They were truly the stuff nightmares were made of. They appeared to be reptilian. They had hard armored scaled to protect themselves with. Some sort insolating black slime coating much of the body which stank of rot. Supposedly it purpose was to provide night camouflage against visual and heat sensitive night goggles They had three eyes, two light sensitive on both side and an infe
  12. Chapter Twenty-Six: Nulls Sam was the first to sense something was wrong. Jumping to his feet he quickly extinguished the lamps around the bed. Something, not someone, was coming and it wasn’t coming to offer the hand of friendship. It was their approaching waves of negative emotions, void rings with pure malice, which tipped him off. Nudging Ryan awake. He slapped a hand over his mouth before he could shout in protect. “Something’s coming. Something bad.” Ryan nodded and silently
  13. I would be more than happy to take those Tories off your hands... but then I would have to stick you with the Republicans. I would love to see the Democrats and Republicans have their own Question Time.
  14. I can understand some of what you are trying to say. We can often blind ourselves by focusing on where they're from rather than who they are. I've always prided myself in the way I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Many times this has led me into being greatly taken advantage of but I've never narrowed it down to one single group. At least that is what I strive for. I have however have had consistently bad experience with one group of people from a very small part of the world which has left me very distrustful of them. I have no problem with others right next door to this group, it's just when I learn they're from that particular area that my defenses jump up. I do not feel proud of myself about that and I know I should not base my opinion of the whole group on a single individual but my personal experience have just been that bad. I volunteer at a mental health clinic so I deal with a lot people who are in adult foster care homes. In the area I live in it has pretty much become a cottage industry for this group. I've seen how many of them treat those under their care and I find myself bouncing between feeling horrified to enrage. I tell myself it has more to do with the job than the particular group. I know it is low paying and their employers are insane obsession with sucking up every cent they can out of those they are trying to take care of. I tell myself to put more blame on the environment they come from instead of the individual and that it is the nature of the job and if I had greater exposure to those outside the field I would meet those who are completely different but as the saying goes, once bitten twice shy. I do not know how I should feel towards this group. I'm not a hateful person and I don't treat them differently at least on the outside but in the inside I do. At what point does distrust turn into hatred? You see at one point I was one of the people they were supposed to be taking care of and by the time I escaped that situation I had ended up in the ER four times and lost 90 pounds in five months. I had my bank card stolen and my medication resold to the pharmacy. It is because of that experience that I do my volunteer work. I want to help make sure that others don't go through what I went through. I've seen that the majority are mistreated and I find myself asking myself if is it because of the nature of the business or is it particular to that group of people. After years of volunteering I can say it has to do more with the sort of business they run as I've seen many outside the group who have been just as abusive. Still I find myself putting most of the blame on that particular group which, if I honestly can say to myself isn't really all that fair. Still even though 9 out of 10 treated me horrifically I find myself unsettled that I'm not willing to be open enough to give that 1 in 10 person the benefit of the doubt. That I can't is something I find difficult to live with and something I would one day like to change but that comes with forgiveness and in this particular situation I find that difficult to do.
  15. Happy Birthday Myr.
  16. I don't know... a lot of the Square-Enix games that have been coming out lately either come from old consoles (DS Final Fantasy IV, updated Cronotrigger, PS Final Fantasy Tactics and SN the other final fantasies,) and Baldur's Gate for PC Or are completely original but have console like qualities like Chaos Rings. They're even going to come up with a ipad version of the latest X-COM. While you won't find them among the $0.99 priced games unless they are on sale like Deep-Space for iPhone you'll have to pay a lot more for them 7-30 there are some hard core games out there. They will only become more so as the iPhone and iPad and Andriod phones get better processors and displays which pretty much happens with each generation.
  17. Chapter Twenty Five: Emergence When Aaron came to, he found himself spread out on the same bed he remember laying on when he arrived on the Graft’s island. Past the silk curtains it was night. But where he lay, the open room was lit up with scented oil lamps. Sitting up he heard his stiff body creak. He must have been sleeping since breakfast. What did he have for breakfast and how did he end up back in bed. He rolled out and stood up. Something was different. The room had changed.
  18. EA made KTOR through Bioware so I don't see how this help matters any. Shutting down Lucas Arts was probably a good financial decision with hit and miss game like the MMO Disney wouldn't want to carry all the risk. They'll still make a profit via the royalties but that won't have to spend the 10s of millions it costs to make AAA games these days

    Ender's Game

I don't know about the movie you can get by on one book. David Eddings is not much different.

    Ender's Game

If you've read one Card book you've pretty much read them all. For a writer who always has the main character be a geeky social reject he doesn't seem to have a problem being the bully.

    Colonisation

It's not just the radiation people on Mars might face when they try to settle it. The solar radiation would still need to be dealt with one whatever ship takes them beyond Earth's magnetic field. In a generational sense I don't see the colonist surviving past the first generation. If the radiation does not leave them sterile then whatever children they have would never develop a proper immune system in their otherwise stable environment. All it would take is for a new colonist to arrive carrying some sort of pathogen and we'll have small pox in the New World like event. As for Mars One... I see it as being nothing but a publicity scam... sort of like Lance Bass going into space.

    Part Six

********************************************************* Chapter Sixteen: Attack ******************************************************* It was during the second month of the siege that the Confederacy began its real assault on the city. Men carrying large planks of wood rushed forward to build bridges over the moat surrounding the walls while their archers sent volleys against the Centurions watching from above. Still, even as the sky was nearly blocked out by missiles, the Centurions
  23. The Graft is a bit of a scoundrel with multiple motives. He owes everything he is to Aaron's brother but he is not necessarily his slave. While he claims he has the boys' best interest in mind in Aaron's case he despises what the Graft has done to him. At some point there will be a reckoning but it won't be in the fashion one might expect. Right now working on the Gods of Mir, Nano Wars, Tower of High Sun, this series and a new untitled one so I'm sort of going nuts trying to pick and choose which one to work on at any given day. I have the first of the Fallen books done and a second draft of the next one. Even so there will be a month or two before I start posting the second book. Once again thanks for the review.
  24. Chapter Twenty-Four: The Other Man When Jon learned Aaron had gone off with the Graft he first assumed it was just for the weekend. He knew Aaron would do his best not to enjoy himself but this was the Graft and he had ways to make even to most resistant lover cave in and let themselves experience their deepest desires. When Monday came and passed and Aaron had not returned, Jon began to worry. The strange part was he seemed to be the only one to express concer

    Part Five

****************************************************** Chapter Thirteen: General Boars ****************************************************** Field Marshal Darius had left General Boars in charge of the defense of Qul Hoth, a lakeside trading city to the east of the capital. He found himself not only surrounded by an army of Confederate troops, but also a mob of city officials. The latter were begging him to surrender, to prevent their beautiful city from being burned to ashes by the jar
