  1. What a worthless chapter..... no blow job for Preston, we don't even know how big his dick is and we don't know what files are on the memory stick!🤯 Okay... just kidding. But I do want to know how big Preston's dick is. I hear the Beacon Hill types are pencil dicks. 🤣 Thanks Mark for the intrigue, the drama, the blue balls.... all of it. I really appreciate the craft. It is so ingrained in me, I was watching the Australian detective show True Colours the other night and had a dream about Connie that night. Totally weird. I hope Preston sticks around, I like seemingly normal characters. I also wonder if the Ortega problem will get fixed this book? Will the files neutralize them and Fellowes? Didn't someone named Fellowes get hacked to death by natives in Bridgemont? Something to think about.

    So is Barry 🤣
  3. And here I thought Jeremy was going to do something useful like become a baker...

In a major plot twist.... Travis marries a chick in NY, Will is crying his eyes out, inconsolable in the Harvard Quad and someone sits down next to him and puts his arm around Will. It is Alistair.... the rest is pure magic.

No one from Beacon Hill would be caught dead in a tank top unless they played for the Celtics. Can you imagine Charles Emerson Winchester III in a tank top?

Thanks Mark for the twin spin of Granger and the Will Schluter Story (formerly known as CAP) 🤣🤣 “Yeah, it’s probably the only way I’ll get laid unless I want some sketch encounter,” I groused. I don't remember timelines when various tech/media came out. I know 2005 was way before Grindr, and if I remember correctly after the heyday of AOL M4M chat rooms. I don't remember what programs we used to meet guys. Maybe PlanetOut/Gay.com? Craig's List? The third floor bathroom at Nordstrom? The guys who were more flaming seemed to like that I was masculine and had that ‘jock next door’ look... I do remember several things about the gay scene and how controversial it was to some people if you said a) you were straight acting or b) you wanted a guy who was 'straight acting'. That drove the flame queen set nuts. They didn't just go nuts over the above, but anyone who they judged ("they judged" being the key phrase) was actually too masculine got their scorn. Which brings to this point. Sexual orientation is a self selected identity. No one can tell you you are gay or straight or whatever. You are what you say you are. A lot of truly straight guys used college as a time of exploration. It is entirely possible to have "gay sex" and be completely straight, if that is what you say you are. No amount of queens sniping at you or saying you live in that Egyptian river can change or determine your sexual orientation. If Will and Mr. Beacon Hill wind up having sex, it is still up to Mr. Beacon Hill to determine what his sexual orientation is. In truth Mr. Beacon Hill may not actually KNOW what his sexual orientation is. When you are living with your parents in a home where homosexuality is considered an abnormality (as opposed to an evil) a person is more likely to conform to the norms of the home on a whole host of issues. If you are able to go away to college, live on campus and be out of that environment, that is where you will start maturing and developing ideas of your own. You may become a Democrat because your parents are Republican, only to return to Republican views as you get older because now you have independent life experience. The same may be true in many areas of your life.
  7. Was getting worried about you 😁 I am stuck with George in the Baltic at the moment. I'll get back you! Thanks for the newest chapter.

    Chapter 10

So that’s why Cavendish didn’t want to leave England. He didn’t want to leave Ward. Granger waited until the sail was drawing as it should be, then went to his cabin, ignoring Cavendish who was still standing on the deck, where he could torture himself in solitude. This is when George annoys me, when he acts like a sophomore girl. "Well do you think he likes me likes me Mr. Weston?" It isn't always about you Georgie Porgie.

    Chapter 27

"Hey Horatio, give me one, extra-large, spicy Sicilian sausage to go!"

    Chapter 20

I had some sympathy for Caroline when I thought the bath episode was a drunken mistake, but with the notion that she feigned drunkenness to trap Freddy in an admission about Granger, then use that to blackmail Freddy is despicable.

    Chapter 12

I love George. But sometimes he can he a butthead. I get he is still a very young man, maybe 20 or 21 or some such thing, but he is horribly hypocritical and takes much more risk every time he has sex on board his ship (or any of the King's ships). The consequences to Caroline could be embarrassing, but for George they would be disastrous to his career, his standing, his family's position and so much more. When I was in high school it was not known by many people I played for both teams and it have been very bad for the sports I played if it were known. As a result I never got drunk at parties. I understood that alcohol was bad for self control. It was bad enough being 16 and filled with hormones.

    Chapter 11

Granger found that he didn’t feel bad about how he had treated Caroline. He had asked her to tell him about her relationship with Treadway, and she had declined. I think Granger is being a hissy little bitch ala Calvert. It isn't very manly. Granger has has 20 lovers to every one of Caroline's. Has he confessed them all?

    Chapter 2

First Jack Aubrey, now Mr. Hornblower. Who is next?
  14. Odyssey is one of the longest, if not the longest, book of the Bridgemont series. But then it had to be cover the around the world travels of George Granger. There is a bit of everything in this book, but most notable parts are the Battle of the Nile, the actions of Valdivia, and much more that I can't mention without being a spoiler, but suffice to say it is a "sitting on the edge of your seat" stuff all throughout. The way the author effortlessly weaves in the fiction and non-fiction is nothing short of brilliant. For fans of historical fiction, it doesn't (can't) get much better than Odyssey.

    Chapter 77

This remarkable story first posted 04/15/2012 and was finished 02/04/2014. A two year odyssey, no pun intended, where our author plugged doggedly away so to not disappoint his fans. The amount of research that went into spinning this tale must have equaled the time it took to write. There was sadness at the death of old friends like Mr. Humphrey's and Mr. Fellowes, among others, joy at glorious victories and more of Granger's characteristic good humor, quick thinking, bravado and gracious good manners. This is my third time through Odyssey and there are new things I discover each time. Reading a completed story is such a joy at not having to sit by the computer (as I do now waiting for Freshman 88) and clinging to hope that next chapter will post. Bravo and thank you Mr. Arbour.

    Chapter 68

If my calculations are correct £50,000 = over £5,000,000 in 2025, £6,000 is nearly £400,000, £3,000 is £200,000 and £1,500 is £100,000. Although it doesn't translate directly. A young man like Lord Kingsdale would be quite well off with that amount of money and no longer an impoverished lord. And the money from the San Fernando is just one of the prizes they took.

    Chapter 36

Calvert craved the security and stability of a committed relationship, of having one person he loved, and of having that one person love him back. Was this even possible in 1797? In the Navy?
  20. PrivateTim

    Chapter 31

I don't like Calvert. Never have. I like Cavendish much better. Freddy should get a suitable marriage then Arbour can write their love story, Brokeback Mews, 🤣

    Chapter 27

I remember being about 8 years old and at my grandparent's home in Wawona, Yosemite. I'd gone on a short hike with my father and he knelt down and got a drink of water from a small stream. I was horrified. How could he drink water from something on the ground? Good, healthy water came from faucets! It is such an enduring memory of mine. Later when I was going to school at Berkeley and my parent's had their own ski cabin in Tahoe and their drinking water came directly from Lake Tahoe, I could not believe how bad Bay Area water tasted after drinking "real water"on weekends in Tahoe. I know how Granger feels drinking his fill.

    Chapter 20

I think Conway needs to be around still to throw in future twists and turns into the plot, but if I was Granger I'd have arranged for him to disappear on Cape Verde.
  23. PrivateTim

    Chapter 18

Ooooo, if you need help I can tell you who Matt's dad is!!
  24. PrivateTim

    Chapter 18

Okay, I know I've read this before..... twice, but for the life of me I don't remember what happens next. Me, I'd court martial Conway and leave him, Ford and the five miscreants behind on Cape Verde. Or hang the lot of them for treason.
