This past year was a great strain on her and she was done with Jack, even if Jack was still thinking reconciliation. It removes that stress from Claire. I don't think she meant she was glad Jack was gone, that is a different kettle of fish. Well duh, he was arboured! 🤣

"it’s not like I expected him to abjectly surrender to me in every situation" Sure you you do. You are a control freak just like your father. The acorn didn't fall far from that tree. "when Wade’s half-brother visited" Yeah, whatever happened to Wade's brother? “I got pregnant when I first started having sex with Noah,” she said" Despite me hating Will's wanton ways I so wanted him to have sex with Noah. I liked him. He was normal. And speaking of normal, where is Alistair? Why hasn't Will bumped into him at Harvard? "Why would I open up to you when you don’t do the same thing for me?" Parents and kids aren't equals or buddies. A parent might relate some experiences with their child, but they hardly need to lay out every secret. And Marie can hardly claim the reason she didn't tell Claire was that Claire didn't tell her, so there was another reason. "“You may be able to understand this when you are more mature,” she said to Will" GASP! Does she not know she is addressing the wisest, most mature person in the room including Grand? "““Do not patronize me, and do not treat me like I’m a child,” he said. His voice was loud, but not a yell, his eyes were blazing, and his entire body posture was aggressive....." He said in a great display of his maturity and wisdom.... 🤣 Love the chapter, thank you Mark. Can Will die next? Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaase. 🤣

14 years later, in hindsight, I am wondering why Andy suddenly throws caution to the wind, kisses Joey in a public place and then does it again. I was 15 once, but even in my most ardent moments, I was never reckless or careless, because I understood what was at stake in my world. PS I didn't remember or see my 2023 review, but apparently the same thing about Andy struck me again.

It took me awhile to remember the story, but I read a few chapters and it came back to me. I guess it's never been explained what Evan's problem with Tony was, or rather, where it came from. Usually a child would pick that from their parents, but Tony's didn't have an issue, why did Evan? And sorry, but hearing about the Native American martial art, I couldn't stop thinking about this.

It isn't Will's job to do it, it is really up to Isadore, but it might be a nice gesture. He doesn't need to apologize or anything, but opening a dialogue instead of scowling would be a plus mark in his column.

You bastard! You killed the guy I liked most in this story! Thanks for the latest chapter, although it is a sad one and can change so many directions. Where were the Hobarts? I assume they are alive still. Didn't they used to spend the holidays with the Cramptons? I do have to thank you profusely for renewing my loathing of Will's behavior. Once again we see what a selfish bastard he is. Paul is still a midshipman at the USNA I believe and being seduced into gay sex puts him in a quandary with the USNA's Honor Code and the U.S. military's Don't Ask Don't Tell policy towards homosexuality. But The Golden Child never considers the consequences for others. Selfish git. Interesting to see where the story goes now. Will baby Hobart be gay and a narrator in 2017? Or does the storyline just end? How will John treat his half sibling? Will Marie's grief and Ryan's presence re-spark things for them? Will Claire's guilt consume her? Tune-n next week and buy Chesterfield "It Satisfies".

"They'd have loved him at the university, with his fine, almost pretty looks. They'd have buggered him every night. No, that was not to be the fate of his son." Oh yes, thank gawd. If you don't want your boy buggered every night, there is no better place to send him than the British Navy of the 1800's 🤣🤣🤣

Byron would have been 13, considered a man in those days, and just finished his first term at Harrow. My flippant remark about Byron being at Harrow and therefore more experienced than he pretended is along the same lines as "as if he were supposed to know what to do" meaning he played the Virgin to heighten George's excitement. Byron and George would both certainly know Herrick's, To the Virgins. Neither one seemed to tarry.

Do what I did, twice..... go back and reread the whole series. You'd be amazed at even the second time through that there are things you missed or view differently now, 15 years or so later.

“What would you call it when there are three other scenes happening at the same time,” Umm, a weekend with Will? 🤣 Thanks Mark for the newest chapter and drama. Nice to see Elizabeth again. I hope it is not too long before Wade narrates again.

He does, but the events are contemporaneous with lots of sources, and language is pretty much the same other than not remembering when 'bitchin' became 'rad' and so on. You also don't need to worry about was there indoor plumbing, electric lights, or other modern conveniences. Mark carefully never inserts new 'technology' too soon in Bridgemont, but it is still cutting edge for the day. It must be very hard to get it right.

Meh, you'd fuck this dude.

The Bridgemont Series is 10x harder to write than CAP. It requires more research and a fealty to language and customs of the times.

Jack is a just like many men whose dick got the better of them. I've seen many men, straight and gay, give up their happy lives by listening to the wrong head.

It was their old stadium, but they didn't own it, the city did so they had no control. That was the issue and why they left. The SD voters turned down the city spending any money on a new stadium. The Padres left first, moving to Downtown SD and the stadium continued to age with no upgrades or improvements. I wish they'd built the new stadium a bit bigger, like 45,000, not 35,000, but they built it with room to add in the end zones.
-
It wasn't the Chargers stadium, it belonged to the city and was the home of the SD Padres, SDSU Football, and various soccer teams. The Mexican Men's National Soccer Team played a lot of "home" matches there when people thought Mexico was too dangerous. San Diego Started out in what became known as "University Heights" because the university was there, San Diego Normal School.

It didn't used to be, until they put in the golf course. It used to be horse properties.

If karma were real, there are a whole host CAP characters in line for Fate to befall them. Until I re-read Chronicles of an Academic Predator from the beginning, I'd forgotten what a little bitch John Paul was in his early days.

I had a friend whose mother's closet and bathroom was like 2000 sq ft. His father had a 40 car "garage". When you are a billionaire you light your Cuban cigar with million dollar bills. https://robbreport.com/shelter/celebrity-homes/williams-lyons-estate-orange-county-california-1236797308/

Yes, that sounds more like the Jack we've known for "all these years". Thanks Mark for the posted schedule and your devotion to your craft to keep up such a demanding pace. I guess I am not understanding Marie (Grandmaman) and why she is so angry with Will. Will has does MANY things that would justify half the room being mad at him, but people get over slights eventually. This isn't how a grandparent acts towards a grandchild.

Jeremy, Jack, and the Mob
PrivateTim commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in Jeremy, Jack, and the Mob
But that is the difference, between disliking Will's antics and thinking he gets away with way too much krap and disliking Will personally.
