I don't know what Dom's level of education was when he wrote this story, but I do know he was young. That makes this remarkable story even more remarkable. Dom used many classic literary techniques; the classic misunderstanding, people talking but not communication, people making assumptions rather than just ask and get a straight answer. All of these weave their way through the story to heighten the drama, make you want to rip your hair out and slap someone (mostly Rory). Any of Dom's stories is worth reading, but think this is a great starter story.

I am not sure on what basis Travis should suspect her? So far all of his trouble has been East Coast trouble and he knows of the Serbian angle so how would he guess there is a connection to Taylor? As to Be Rad and Jake... we don't know what they are or are not doing. We really haven't heard from them as narrators for a few chapters. We really haven't heard from JP and Stef. I can't imagine them being passive. If "the cops" know about the phone call then that means the FBI has probably been called. Certainly JP and Stef have influence there, and Brad too as a major defense contractor.

Let me thank Mark for this chapter and the tremendous effort it must take to crank out chapters with such consistency..... before I go into nitpicking bitch mode 😁 Travis is a Buck. He wasn't raised that differently than Will. Maybe in NYC he doesn't use a driver and limos because he doesn't want to put on airs in front of the quasi starving actors on his show. But coming home to LA I can't believe he wouldn't engage a driver from a firm he knows rather than use Uber. As to Will, I can't believe Brad or Jake wouldn't be at LAX to pick him up personally. No way are they trying to run things from Palo Alto, they are certainly in Malibu. I am also sure every thing would be double and triple checked. Brad would have one of the pilots call him when he was 30 minutes out. As to FBOs at LAX, security is tighter than tight, especially on the tarmac. Both the limos would have been recorded and seen on security cams, as would the drivers. My cousin is a pilot for a Hollywood company and she went to pick up her plane to fly to SF to pick op her passengers and she ran into such tight security, she couldn't believe it. She was in uniform, walking to her plane on the tarmac, and some oaf security guard told her she couldn't be there. She is great at stink eye. She continued to her plane and then had a 40 minute grand hold until the VIP plane arrived.... the President? Foreign head of state? No, Taylor Swift. Yes Jake would have checked calls from the plane, quizzed the pilots, checked the video tapes, worked his underworld contacts, worked his CIA contacts, he'd be pulling out all the stops. That may play out in future chapters, we shall see. I did like the In-n-Out and Round Table references, maybe if we spend enough time in Manhattan Beach we can have margaritas at El Tarasco and pancakes at Uncle Bill's.

I would disagree that Mark is manipulative There are plenty of authors on GA who are, Mark is not one of these. How do we know? Look at the diverse opinions on Will, Brad, Jeremy, Matt, Robbie, etc. To me, manipulation is forcing people to react to a personality or situation and every feels the same way. Great authors don't do that and Mark is a great author. Dom Luka is of the same cut. People loved or hated Rory and many other key characters. The GA authors who I see manipulating are the young authors or the lazy ones,

And Will is EXACTLY like Brad. They are two peas in a pod, always nosing into everyone else's business. They could be twins.

But he did do the whole paranoia thing when he shut Will out and "relied upon the kindness of strangers" and we saw where that got him. I would think once burned, twice shy. If I was Will I'd hire a firm to guard him and not tell Travis.

I cannot imagine either is in the works. Maybe Travis' sister and that football guy, what's his face, are behind this. Zach is certainly dumb enough to be manipulated into involvement.

My guess is Jake doesn't know Travis didn't replace Ninja right away.

Happy birthday Mark. There is ZERO reason for you to apologize for the pace of this story. Bridgemont is 10x more complicated than CAP. You have to worry about proper words for the era, historical accuracy, getting the zeitgeist of the era. None of that happens quickly. The fact that you can and do juggle two stories is remarkable in its own right.

Thank you for the latest and greatest. I don't know what it is, but I just don't like Finn. Maybe it is because he is a slut bag hoe, and I haven't like the slut bag hoes in the story. That would be Matt, Rob, the vineyard guy, the St Louis guy and his slut bag hoe friend. There are exceptions like Stef and Cody, but the Wade type are more to my taste. I am still hoping we have some future Wade narrations. Chip I am finding a little interesting, and I loved that one of my favorite peripheral characters was mentioned, Noah. I thought Will and Noah would have good, hot, steamy high school sex. I am still waiting for Alistair's cameo at Harvard. Still waiting for the shoe to drop on the hit squad, etc.

Maybe the Charles in Chip, is Charles De Gaulle IV and his great grandfather, Charles De Gaulle I is Stef's real father.
