Hey, I want at least one, hot steamy Reilly sex scene.
I think we need one giant group therapy session, Aiden, Owen, Dennis, Ryan, Travis, Lacy, Leo....
Wow Aiden is really bad at communicating and Owen isn't any better. What is wrong with being truthful, 'hey I miss you'.
I want Dennis to kick Lyle's ass.
Travis is punishing himself. He is self loathing. He blames himself for Allen going to the kitchen to get ice. Travis blames all the events of that night on himself and he's never dealt with the issues.
And as much as I feel deep sympathy for Travis he still bugs the fuck out of me.
Aiden and Owen are having an O Henry moment. If they would just talk to each other they'd figure out a way to be friends.
I've never had an ex I didn't stay friends with.
Guy Fellowes seems too obvious. The least obvious is Trevor Buck. I don't Curtis Buck had enough money left to mess with Travis. Evil Lawyers, which is redundant by the way, why? To what purpose? Organized Crime, again why? There are plenty of rich people to bother. Taylor would need someone smarter than her... so it comes back to Guy Fellowes as her co-conspirator.
Travis is annoying as hell.
We made some progress on what is up with Aiden and Owen, but not Ryan and Lacy. Nicky is the character I am really liking this story, but then I liked him the last one too.
So we don't know why Aiden and Owen split, why Ryan and Lacy are hostile to each other, we don't really know where Tony is, all of the friends are miserable... Great job Dom!
I've never seen "real" volleyball players play 3 on 3, barneys for sure. 2 on 2 is the norm, 4 on 4 only happens when there are too many good players and too few courts, but too few courts isn't an issue in MB.
I've also never seen the CBVA sponsor a 3 on 3 tournament.

Will is such a douche. What thinks he has the right to tell his father what to do and not do. It would be fine if he didn't demand no one tell him what to do.
And "3 on 3" volleyball in MANHATTAN BEACH? You've been away from California way too long.
Interested to see all the fall out from Travis and Taylor's predicament. Lots to untangle there.
Thanks for a nice early post too. I was in the middle of rereading In The Fishbowl so I saw the notification right away.
I don't remember this story as well as I do others I've already read, but is real life, Travis would be heading for a serious crash. The human body can only stand so much.
I want to know if Reilly and Aiden have played Hide the Pickle.
I am not sure how long after the Long Way this story is, but probably two years at least. Did people really expect two 17 year olds to last forever as a couple? I've known guys who dated someone all through high school, broke up for college, grew up, and wound up back together eventually. But high school romances are just that, high school romances.
The Log Way, later Lo(n)g Way, and eventually Long Way was brilliant, especially considering how young Dom was when he wrote it. I believe he was in his teens still, like 19 maybe.
As to the start of In the Fishbowl, it shouldn't hurt to be a kid. Some people shouldn't be parents. Some shouldn't be foster parents and the system should do a better job weeding them out. I've seen enough bad of both, birth and foster, parents to know.
It's been a long time since I read this story and I am looking forward to reacquaint myself with the characters.
"I’m not the same as I was before"
Aiden, who was an ass for much of this chapter, said that to Nicky. But hasn't he been saying to Adam that Aiden is the same as he was before Adam knew he was gay, and saying to Adam that he, Owen, is just the same as he was before?
Owen is still Owen, gay or not. He should have reached out to Nicky.
Owen was more than pathetic, what he was feeling was a manifestation of his PTSD.
Karen is just another Anna/Janie. Owen should have called her out in front of Aiden, but where is the drama in that ha ha.
If Dennis' knee is that bad, the team doctor wouldn't let him play and the coach wouldn't want him to.
Owen really does need professional help. Chris is right, it would just get worse. That is why the suicide rate is do high in the military and law enforcement.
This why Chris & Tony needed to insist that Owen go through counseling. He has a shit-ton of unresolved emotional issues.
This is such a pivotal chapter. You start to understand why it is the Long Way.
Not really backstabbing, she has just always, wanted wanted Aiden to be her boyfriend and she is willing to do anything to accomplish that, but even Adam knew it wasn't a real relationship. He called Aiden Janie's "pretend boyfriend".
I also think Adam will be okay too. As a freshman you are insecure with everything and he goes along with things to not stand out, but when push comes to shove, I think he'll be there for Owen.... eventually.
But I do recall a brewing storm.
So finally some pieces fall into place for Owen. From a previous chapter it sounded like Karen had a restraining order on her, presumably for violence against Aiden and now she's gone there again.
I am not sure Owen is being fair to Nicky. He is making a lot of assumptions, 1+1=3 kinda stuff.
