I loved the introspection of John Paul on the loves of his life.

Hunh, I wonder 🤣🤣 I know all these coincidences, meeting Lou, Marcel, et al seem improbable, but let me tell you a story. When I was 17 and AOL Chat Rooms were in their heyday, I used to go into a gay teen chatroom and I made a lot of "friends" there. I say friends in quotes because we were all over the country, New Hampshire, Missouri, Nevada, me in CA etc. and we had these great, none sexual talks. We even talked on the phone sometimes. That Summer I was invited to a movie premiere and dinner afterwards by one of the Hollywood gay mafia who liked having cute boys around. Anyway, there was seven of us, plus the producer and I only knew one of the guys personally, but everyone was young and cute. As dinner got going we started to introduce ourselves. One guy said he was from Missouri, Kansas City, and I mentioned I chatted on AOL with a guy from KC, JamieBoyKC. The guy goes, "that's me!" As the conversation rolled on, all seven of the boys had been chatting with someone else at the table, sometimes more than just one. We all just laughed off our asses. Several of them are still friends today. So I don't find the kismet of Lou all that surprising.

Man in Motion seems like where CAP took a real turn into different worlds of intrigue. Neil had to have some smarts to be at Princeton, but in no way does he have the brains or connections to pull off what he is trying.
-
I think if they live in the same city it would be hard to keep Robbie away from Neil, but living very far apart and in the Fortress of Solitude (Escorial) it is different.

Damn, why can't I like my own comment? That was f-ing brilliant and insightful 🤣

This has always been my vision for Jackie, complete with the accent.

It is obvious Roger has self esteem issues related to what happened with his father and half brother. Roger doesn't feel worthy or deserving of someone to love him. Anal sex to him isn't pleasure, it is punishment. Of course Stef would normally see this, but it is like watching Othello, you can't figure out Othello can't catch on to Iago's obvious game.... it is because he is not supposed to. THAT is what makes the story a tragedy. TLW would be less compelling if Stef were all understanding and forgiving.

Tijuana does have some depressing areas, but Tijuana also has some gorgeous home and estates. It is a very big, modern city of 2.5 million, making it the second largest city in Mexico.

Oh why oh why oh why couldn't Brad have stayed a sweet, guileless 10 year old forever and Ace with him. Maybe the author can go back and give us books of 10 year old, 11 year old and 12 year old Brad and Ace's adventures. Sort of a modern day Twain book,

"The trip to the car dealer set me back about $28,000 when all was said and done." The 1970's were wild where TWO Benz cost $28,000. And, ah..... Joaquin. I'd forgotten the circumstances where he entered the story. Although I must say, I am pretty sure there were no homeless people hanging on the beach at the Malibu Colony.

So much in books like this I have forgotten, even though I re-read the entire CAP just last year. You remember the large events, but forget the side trips. I DO remember the pending Paris trip and I am so looking forward to it.

“I'm not attacking you or accusing you Roger; it's just that any guy who is as great a lover as you are must be at least partly gay. Can you see how that might confuse me after our initial meeting?” - Was it asking too much to want a guy who is fucking you to tell you if he's gay? I've never understood the gay communities obsession with labels. I self identify as bi-sexual, but that's only because people demand a label. It was a precursor to the pro-noun thing (by the way, my pronouns are "your Eminence" and "your Highness"). Bottom line is, I like who I like and what plumbing they had was never a determining factor. I've known men, and I know the author has too, who are absolutely, 100% straight, but fall in love and live with a gay man. That does not make them gay, especially since 'orientation' is a self declared status and no one can tell you what your own orientation is.

“Ahhhh,” he said. I stopped to stare at him. “You got your loans,” he said. Men are so easy 🤣

"And now she is pregnant and claims he is the father.” I am biting my tongue so hard it is bleeding. Everyone should re-read the entire CAP every so often to appreciate the genius of the series.

Roger and Jason, blasts from the past. I'll shut up before I am accused of spoilers 😮

"He loves us Peter. He was protecting us. He can be ruthless when it comes to protecting the people he loves. Seems he took a pretty big risk with a fire hydrant some time back.” Was that deliberate? Or just a slip? Third time reading TLW and I think first time I noticed this.

Stef isn't a Land Whore, he's just a Garden Variety Whore! 🤣

Am I first to comment??? There is fame and then there is fame. There is a boy/man, who shall remain anonymous. I met him when I was 17 and he was 16 and he ran in our social circle. He had had a recurring role on the stupidest Nickelodeon show imaginable when he was 13 and 14. We could not ANYPLACE that some tween/teen girl didn't recognize him and go all googly. It stoked my friend's ego, because he loved the attention, but it annoyed the bejeebus out of everyone else. Point being, Nick was still a semi obscure kids cable network back then. If Travis's Palisades show is on a network, he'll be famous with a certain demographic even if the show only goes 1 season. Sane, stable and rational for Arbour World. I liked Will when he was an innocent, discovering life with John.

Faces for Mark's Stories
PrivateTim replied to methodwriter85's topic in Mark Arbour Fan Club's Topics
Will is the third generation of CAP characters. He doesn't even appear as a main character until at least 10 or 11 books into the CAP series, which begins in 1962 I believe and I think we are in 2004 currently. -
Except Matt had no idea they were his grandfathers. I find it creepy in the extreme.
-
I think Brad and Will need to get over themselves. When Jeremy was speaking of Brad he said, "my father". Surely Brad and Will are smart enough to figure out JJ was in a horrible place, being told his entire life was a lie, to cut JJ some slack, especially if he apologizes sincerely. If not, they are just butt-hurt little drama queens.

You sure seem intent on labeling people "trash" and you imply that only those in the lower socioeconomic are "trash". I know an awful lot of millionaires who are "trash", and no, not athletes or entertainers, but Harvard educated, boardroom types.

You've never read any of my comments obviously 🤣
