  3. Erm, yeah! we did that too
  4. Ladies and Gentlemen. Today, the most important person in my life turns 27. It is a milestone to be sure, but not usually an important one. For us though, 27 is THE most important. I explain why further on. I gave Paya a small gift, with the following inscription (well, a similar inscription, this one slightly edited) ------------------- Today is a special day, of a special month of a very special year. Today you are 27 years old. You have never been 27 before, and never will you be again. This birthday is special not for the number of those years, but because we celebrate this anniversary for the first time together. I have so many plans for our future. So many things I want to do, places to visit, people to meet. I can only imagine doing them with you - and no other. You are my world. Before I met you my life was like an unfinished jigsaw puzzle. All the pieces were there, but there was no order or pattern. When you came into my life, you gave these pieces order and purpose. You painted for me a picture on those pieces that is more beautiful than I ever imagined my life could be. Our lives together are going to be an adventure. It will be one of which even the greatest storytellers could not conceive. Ours shall be a romance of epic proportions. How long will the story span? Who knows! But what I DO KNOW - is that I want to find out together. Miluji Te My Darling. Yours forever ----------------------- I actually wrote the original version to this - along with a number of other blog entries on the plane. I visited Paya in the Czech Republic in August 2010, and these were my thoughts on leaving. Reading them back now, would I change anything? Not a chance! I could certainly write more. I could make you all sick with the soppy romance of it all - thankfully there is still enough of the reserved Brit in me that I will not lay my emotions on the table for all to see. But at the same time, we live in a world of war and greed, a world of distrust, of the disenchanted and the disenfranchised. So no matter how much you may tire of hearing it, I
  5. Wonderful as a happy birthday topic is, i have the pleasure of being lead next to Paya this morning to give my birthday wishes in person So you're right, I was a little busy That said, in order to record my felicitations for posterity: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLING
  6. Matt Carswold in bloodlines Roger Burton in The Land Whore yeah.... both Arbour stories.... but they're just so HOT
  7. It goes against the grain, becuase Prime Ministers are head's of Government, not state, but here goes: Thatcher Major Blair Brown Cameron So that makes, 3 conservatives, 1 labour who betrayed his party by ACTING conservative, and another labour who betrayed HIMSELF by not doing what he believed in.... not bad
  8. I left a message on your profile... but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMMY!!!!
  9. Dont worry baby.... im gonna make it my mission to have us try all the salad dressings of the world...
  10. One.... Her Majesty the Queen. The Iron Lady (The Blessed St. Margaret Thatcher ) was unfortunately never president or head of state - though if wishing made it so.....

    A Resolution

I totally disagree with your opinion on the Pope, but i respect you for expressing it. I am sometimes bemused, sometimes exhasterated, sometimes entertained and sometimes shocked by how you express yourself.... but if we all had the same thoughts and views, it would be incredibly boring in the soapbox... i have much thicker skin than to be offended. And as Rob says.... thats how the soapbox works, its what its there for !

    Death

A time for everything... and we are but fleeting visitors here. I like to think that whatever we do, if we leave this world with a little more love in it than there was when we started, then we have done ok. I always remember the quote: " it might not be me who touches a million people, but maybe i'll touch that one, who
  14. I started... but there is much to go. 2 chapters are posted in efiction.... im not sure whn i will make a 3rd available
  15. I need to be careful what I say to maintain my anonymity.... but i was actually published in a couple of anthologies when i was a teenager. but actually.... I dont come to this site for poetry. Poetry is not an enjoyable genre to read (though I find it easy to write), and to be honest I dont think it has a place on this site. FULL STOP. Just my opinion.... flame me if you wish
  16. I recommend you read "leap of faith" by Queen Noor of Jordan (the HOT american wife Mr Arbour refers to) to get a better understanding. But basically we have a man who was provoked, browbeaten, insulted, attacked and constantly offended - and he met all that with grace and forgiveness.... When an assasination attempt was made on him... he freed the would-be killers with the words " they were desperate, but they are my brothers - what was I to do?"
  17. WOW.... I never knew we had so much in common Mark.. Apart from the obvious... We both have a pretty huge... ego
  18. Just a timely reminder that I have cammy on yahoo... and im not afraid to ask searching questions **Just keeping everyone in line**
  19. I think that more emphesis was put on "personal honour" and that people understood that acts of war were not personal but matters of state. In general, I think the concept of being a "gentleman" has been lost, which is very very sad Within Bristish History in particular, there are many examples of "playing by the rules" when it comes to war and honour. Im not sure we would see the same thing today
  20. You absolutely should!!!!! Then I can publish "10 things Paya doesn't want you to know "
  21. Im bored... so: I have a passion for History. Specifically British Military History. I have a few hundred books on the subject in case anyone is interested ... Linked to the above, I have a fascination with the English Raj in India I have a collection of books that is too big for my home; they are currently in storage. I have read all of them. Before I had an "enlightening experience", It was my intention to become a Roman Catholic Priest I can trace my lineage on one side of the family back to 946, and a gentleman called "Leofwine" Everyone has heroes. Mine is unusual - its not a sports star or an actor. It is (The Late) King Hussein of Jordan. I have watched almost every episode of the West Wing. Josh Lyman is my idol. Sam Seaborn (rob Lowe) is my.... *ahem* **COUGH** The town I live in (Northern England) has a designated Tiger Catcher "Just in case". There is no record of Tigers ever having even visited the town. I love "The Godfather" trilogy I have never changed a childs nappy - and have no intention of ever doing so. Well... i hope you found some of that interesting.... I know it killed 30 minutes or so for me. Feel free to comment West
  22. Yeah, but he can be a pr*ck at times Case in point - I dont like the direction this seems to be heading in. For some reason Im pretty "emotionally" vested in these characters and their relationship - I even had dreams (nightmares) about it. These are my idealised couple, and although they have their problems, they always work them through. But now I fear that Mark is taking them beyond the point of redemption - past the point of no return. It quite worrying for me  I mean... I am ACTUALLY worked up about this - I can't believe it! GRRRR See this is the true mark of Mr Arbour's talent - he draws you in and makes you give a damn. West
  23. Excellent chapter mark - Loving the cliff hanger at the end !!!!
  24. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
