  1. Thanks Mark - coming from someone I admire that meant a lot. After reading the part in bold it made me wonder how others get inspiration for stories. I mean, I understand the inspiration for sequels, but the original spark - where does it come from. Maybe I'll start a thread on the writers corner asking folks. But one question, do you see the characters having the dialogue or do you just imagine the conversation? The former is close to what happens for me, the later - well, I don't know what that feels like. Geez Mark, I wonder who that 'member' could be. You don't need to get to me, I'm not that way. If it's a choice between reading my books and speaking to you, I'd choose the later. But if you don't do sporty - read Purpose first, I think it's better written and more original than Second Shot anyway. Just don't tell that "member" I said that.
  2. Chosen of Honorus, which is being posted in the Premium Content section, is going to be published by Dreamspinner Press. Myr was good enough to allow me to list this for sale, so before I decided to ePublish it, I sent it to Dreamspinner Press, the publisher Anyta and I are working with for (Un)Masked. Last week they agreed to buy it and the publication date is set for early 2013. But if you'd rather not wait that long, you can sign up for the Premium Content and read it before it is published. That is also a way to help support GA and keep it a free site. Andy

  3. Making someone love you isn't as satisfying as the real thing. Fortunately Farrell had good teachers so he didn't fall into the trap of using his powers to convince someone to like him. Given their ability to live for quite a long time and the fact they were 'destine' to be together, these two better enjoy the time they spend together or else it could be quite a long eternity otherwise.
  4. Thanks everyone - Giving credit where it is due - Anyta was the driving force behind this one, she had the story idea I just helped write it. But we are both very stoked that this is getting closer and closer. We will certainly let everyone know when it's coming out - that way you can all help fill 'lil Q's college fund.
  5. This is the cover to Anyta Sunday and my new book that will be published in late August/ early September. (Un)masked by Anyta Sunday and Andrew Q. Gordon Jay Walker has two wishes: to perform the play of his dreams alongside his best friend at Wellington’s Downstage Theatre, and to meet that special someone. Someone he’d go to the ends of the earth for. Someone who might only exist in fairy tales. When Jay meets accordion busker Lethe Cross, it’s like living a dream come true. Lethe’s music captivates Jay, and he resolves to meet the man who plays so beautifully. But then he discovers Lethe’s life is more like a nightmare. The phrase “down on his luck” can’t begin to cover it. Determined to help, Jay does some snooping for answers—and winds up on the wrong end of a centuries-old curse. The good news is there’s a way to break it. The bad news is it might cost Jay his life. More to come when we get a release date.
  6. Well Dave -I'm glad to joined so you could come along for this ride.
  7. Farrell's mentors certainly have more to teach him than he thinks. Whether or not he listens could be an issue, but he is worlds above them in ability so they might not be able to keep up with him when he's doing his thing. The problem with knowing what's going to happen is I have to check and double check my responses lest I give something away. Not that there are too many folks following along so it might end up just being only you I slip up with

    Chapter 1

Thanks Lacey. Wish i had the time to write the full story. Maybe one day soon.

    Chapter 10

The Lord. . .err. . .Mark giveth and Mark taketh away. First you trample on poor Winkler's heart like that - having Jeffers leave him for a woman [which I suppose will prove easier for Winkler than if it were another man] but now you are going to rub it in his face by reuniting Granger with Calvert. Poor Winkler is going to have to bear witness - in silence - to those two rutting their way to the East Indies and back. I hope you find Winkler a suitable replacement - and fast - or this will be a messy voyage.
  10. Of course Meglar has to do something, I mean he can't leave them be for three days without letting them know he cares. Of course he doesn't know it's his son who's defending Northhelm, if he did, I'm sure he'd have come by already to say hello.
  11. my how the worm turns - err . . . that's not what I meant - Just another wicked little turn in the DWI saga. So Bruno was moonlighting with a less than angelic employer and too late learned the error of his ways. You'd think that once bitten he'd have learned his lesson about dealing with the devil. And now his dealings have put Dean's live and those of his family at risk. Thanks Bruno. Oh and bravo Dean - virgin no more
  12. So Ty's gay, cute, available, likes friends with benefits and no strings, John's a ways away. HMMM. Are you setting the table for a bit of drama?

    Moving day

Yawn - I mean after all the mayhem of the last few chapters this was pretty sedate. But you're still teasing us, no ID, no prints, no nothing. The shooter was a nobody who was a professional killer. Why do I think this is not yet over and the remaining chapters will not be champagne and caviar?
  14. I can't believe you let Debbie separate those two Shelties - I mean you left that other poor thing alone and lonely at the cold cruel shelter. You're a bad man Dave, a very bad man. But like the other reviewer said, WHO'S THE SHOOTER!!! Seriously, I'm going to need to change my signature to Vote DaddyDaveK king of cliffs after this one.
  15. My goodness Dave, you're gunning for CJ's King of Cliffs title aren't you? Get down on the floor eh? Bet Dean hasn't heard that from John before All kidding aside, who is this guy trying to kill Dean, I mean Bruno's gone, the classified info is gone, there is someone else in the Wiess house and frankly if he thought Dean had anything in his room, he had plenty of time to toss the house when Dean and Mom were gone, so this almost sounds personal - could this be a new shooter? Like someone who was still in love with JT3? Is this whole professional hit man just a red herring? Grrr. Gotta keep reading
  16. Poor Dean, first he gets shot at, then he gets set up as bait, now he gets outed to the world. Of course, his mom doesn't care, and his 'boyfriend' already admires his sizable attributes so au contraire Monsieur Dean Warner, this does NOT suck big time.
  17. Well that's one way to introduce your new beau to your mom. I am a bit confused, a) how do they know the gun'man' is a man - especially since a woman rented the abandoned car and doesn't Dean's window face Weiss/Weitzel's house? How could the shooter get through the same window again without being in that house?
  18. Dave, You don't want me to rush to the good parts all at once do you? I mean, you make Farrell seem like a cheap trollop, pushing him into bed with someone he just met.
  19. Sigh, and here I thought you would be totally stoked that I included more of the budding romance between Farrell and Miceral. All you got from that chapter was the teeny weeny insignificant point that Farrell is Meglar's son? Horgon might still be a problem, I mean he doesn't approve, so that leaves open the possibilities I suppose.
  20. I figured I'd add my comments to the blogs on the weekend. Friday I forget what I was doing when Cassie called to say she and Intune were at Union Station. I kinda forgot about everyone coming despite having taken the day off just so I could go meet with anyone who came early. Doooh! I finished what I was doing, hopped in my Jeep and hightailed it to the Metro. I had planned to come into town anyway, because work forgot to pay me and they were supposed to cut me a paper check. So I made it to Union Station where the ladies were waiting and promptly thought Cassie was Intune and Intune was Cassie - double Dooh! On our way to Intune's hotel, we got a taste of all DC has to offer - a cop chasing a felon. I watched the guy look back at the cop, then take off running. A part of me wanted to get involved, slow the kid, tackle him something, but three things stopped [well four if you count being a wuss] 1) I was 'escorting' Cassie and Intune, so didn't want to get them involved in this, 2) I wasn't sure the police wanted my help, and 3) If I got hurt, Mike would kill me. Turns out this was a gun offense, after I dropped the ladies off and made my way toward my office, I saw officers I knew canvassing for a gun. Probably best I stayed out of it as what would probably have happened was I would have gotten hurt and the guy would have gotten away, or worse, I'd have ended up interfering with the cop as he chased the guy. Saturday was hectic for me as I had to get to the personal trainer, come home, shower get 'lil Q ready, get to metro and get down town. This was my first real trip with 'lil Q alone. Fortunately I wasn't alone, Cassie and Intune were a big help as we navigated the touristy National Mall Museum area. I, of course, managed to lead us in the wrong direction in our trek to meet up with W_L who, despite being up all night was surprisingly chipper. Lunch was disappointing - as others have alluded. I had thought to take us to a different place, but we came upon this one first - bad mistake. Always go with your first instinct. There I showed my compulsive side as I got out the hand wipes and sanitized the high chair before I'd let 'lil Q sit in it. Yeah, I did. Anyway, 'lil Q seemed to get the best meal, she happily gobbled down half a jar of Banana, Apricot and cereal, while the rest of us paid through the nose for a couple bites of something. Then 'lil Q decided I didn't need anymore calories so she dumped my soda on the table and floor. Sigh, and I really was enjoying that. Sadly, as you can see in the picture I posted, being a lady about town tuckered 'lil Q out and when I got her home she slept for a while. Mike and I were not able to get our act - and baby - together to make dinner with the GAngsters so y'all still have to guess if Mike is really real and I'm not really a straight man in disguise. Sunday - Father's Day, my first - I managed to sneak away long enough to Meet Intune for coffee and to discuss her fabulous story Pitch Perfect. Hopefully I didn't ruin her story with my comments I had fun meeting everyone, wish more of you lazy sods had made it, but that didn't diminish my good time. Next time, 'lil Q will be walking and talking so you might not want me to come to the next one
  21. W_L you were a gamer on Saturday despite the forever train ride and lack of sleep. And for putting up with my inept parenting skills without complaint, I thank you.
  22. Besot? Well, maybe just a little. And I swear, if the scaffolding and netting wasn't there, the are statutes as described.
  23. hmph - since I'm just by default - I'm not gonna vote
  24. Oh they'll be time to consort and cavort once they get past the immediate crisis. There'll be consorting, trust me
  25. Happy Birthday to the Patriarch of GA - may you have many more happy days to come.
