Cripes, I must be morally bankrupt - or honest enough to tell the truth and not look like a schmuck, which I'm fairly certain I must be. IF I understand the question correctly, would you hook up with someone who is cheating on their boyfriend/girlfriend and that person didn't know or give their okay for their significant other to be sleeping around - now answering just that - and leaving out all the other implications, like STD's, the future of this relationship, etc, yes I would and no I wouldn't feel like a home wrecker. This assumes I didn't pursue the person and convince them to do something like cheat on their spouse when they otherwise were not so inclined. I don't see me as having a responsibility to police my partner's morals. Now if I were the one who got cheated on and I found the low life son of a bitch who slept with my husband - let's just say there would be twelve men going to the grave yard and only 11 would come back.

So for those who are able to see this, I figured I'd set up a topic here. Given this is my first real attempt at fantasy, I was hoping for some feed back. Reviews are awesome, and I love the banter, but I figured people could or would like to use the forums to give me some input. Since my hope is to ePublish this, I'd be glad for any comments. Andy

Longhorn Steakhouse? Are you secretly Riley Jericho in disguise? He seems to love to write about that place too. So, I'm happily reading along and then I discover this wonderful coming of age story is a total fantasy - the Cubs a few games from first place? I was, damn, and here I thought you were a red birds fan.

Something of a size queen? Please! JT3 is a TOTAL size queen - he takes one look at Dean's one eyed trouser snake and is like - "please tell me you're interested in me!" Seriously, I laughed so loud I'm almost woke up 'lil Q. Good for Dean, maybe he'll break out of his shy, loner persona and realize he's not a freak nor a dork and that people will like him for who he is.

Indiana University (IU), Bloomington, IN
Andrew Q Gordon commented on Daddydavek's story chapter in Indiana University (IU), Bloomington, IN
Dave, do you think the law firm of Trask and Fitchley is looking to hire? Corporate Visa? I need me one of those. If that is how it is on campus these days, I went to the wrong Big Ten college -that's for sure. And just what is JT3 doing taking Dean's mama to a gay friendly cafe? I mean I've seen fishing expeditions that were less subtle. He must be after all Dean's money. -
Hmm Drake, Faye, Jack and Terry - English, German, NZealander and a Yank - where ever did you find such a lot as that? It's not like you've ever been to any of those places LOL Glad to see you started posting this, I think it's wonderful.

Gads - I've been so busy lately I totally missed this - I feel cheated, like I didn't get a chance to be scared shitless for you. Seriously, it's great news you're on the upswing, keep it up. and if you weren't still a tad under the weather I'm smack your head for thinking you weren't so welcome. Some people just don't realize how much people appreciate them . I had to end with a smile - figured you'd need it.

Okay world of potential East Coaster Meeter uppers. I need everyone who is coming or thinking of coming to PM me so we can get a head count and that sort of stuff. I'm taking off Friday June 15 so I can be around and me and 'lil Q can be an unofficial welcoming party for those who come early. So please PM - then I'll send you my email and cell number so we can get in touch when y'all are here in wonderfully humid Washington DC. Pack accordingly - which for those of you exhibitionists means, don't bring any clothes, you'll be more comfortable nekked - or as nekked as you can be without getting arrested. Phoenix, if you ever feel like coming this way, let me know and we'll see if we can't have an impromptu meeting up of any and all who are here and available. Andy

Hmmm, not that I know many lawyers, but this John Trask, III seems to have a might more than a professional interest in our young Dean Warner. and while 27/20 is not exactly robbing the cradle or a December/May romance, don't you think Mr. Trask could find hisself someone a bit closer in age? And a client? Aren't there ethical thing-a-majiggies about that sorta stuff. I mean - oh nevermind, I forgot, Dean's daddy Warnerbucks now, of course JT3 has got the hots. Do you think Bruno told them about Dean's big willie???
-
You're an evil man Dave - how did mom find out? I mean you can't drop that kernel on us then neglect to explain? I mean WTF is up with dat? Sheesh you're tighter with the details than a witness protection pr. . . errr - never mind, my bad -
-
A thousand bucks? That's it? They must not want to solve this one - no one's gonna stick their neck out for a measly $1000.00. Instead of asking for more hours at the grocery store, why didn't dean go into porn? I mean he is a freak of nature that would/could be well compensated for his well endowed endowment - not that I know anything about what porn pays or even what porn is -
-
Not that I know anything about law enforcement or witness interviews, but . . . . Okay so Bruno Magli errr Wies brave, gay, rich, smart, could shoot straight, - Damn it Dave, you killed off the most interesting character so far So if Bruno could see into Dean's room well enough to know where the paperbacks were, should we assume he was noticing what was on the computer screen and the trouser snake that was enjoying the show? IDK, sounds awful fishy to me. if I didn't know better I'd suspect Dean was behind this because he didn't like have a peeping Bruno next door - either that or he wanted to keep Bruno quiet about his rather large appendage. But what do I know.

The murder next door
Andrew Q Gordon commented on Daddydavek's story chapter in The murder next door
Well well well, Daddy D has finally come out - as an author - imagine that You know my thoughts, so I'll keep this simple - 11 and fat eh? Gracious you don't hold back. I'm wondering if Bruno didn't die from a different kind of projectile striking him from next door. Just saying - -
Shucks Stu, I wished you Happy Birthday in chat, but let me do it again. You're a terrible cradle robber now that you're no longer a teenager - tsk tsk. Seriously, enjoy your day and make sure Mark spoils you rotten, you only get one day like this a year. Andy

[JMH] Congrats on being made Promising!
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Cia's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Whew, good thing I got out of this lot just in time, the place is going to hell in a hand basket now Okay, so I exaggerated - just a bit - No, really, it was only half serious. Fine, I take it back, Okay, totally serious - bout freaking time - you totally deserve this. Congrats and well met!!! Andy -
Thanks for those kind words. In some ways, Second Shot will always be like a first love - it was my first and therefore it is always gong to be special to me. I agree with you when it comes to unfinished stories. I'd prefer them to be finished, even from authors I know always finish things. But unlike you I can't sit back and wait. I end up reading chapter by chapter against my better judgement. LOL I've started the sequel, and am about 7000 words into it as of today so we'll see when I get that finished. My goal is to get it done before the current story in Premium end, so I've got about 6 months. Might be a tight time line but we'll see. Thanks again, I appreciate your comments and they motivate me to work harder on the next one.

[Andrew_Q_Gordon] Archangel by Quonus10
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Graeme's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Well, I don't if I should disagree or agree Actually, I feel Purpose is my best work too, though it was not as well received as other works. I don't think I excel at the short story format that is the anthology so I think I'd have to agree this would not be my best. But thanks for reading and for the for agreeing with me on Purpose -
Major DC superhero to come out as gay, apparently.
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Cyhort's topic in The Lounge
Given Batwoman is a lesbian I really doubt they're going to make the entire "Bat" franchise gay/lesbian. -
Happy Myr Day - enjoy your day.

[Andrew_Q_Gordon] Second Shot
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Andrew Q Gordon's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Naaz, Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you felt the emotions I wanted the story to convey. I'm not sure if I can reproduce them going forward. Maybe that is why people end up being one hit wonders. They put everything into the first one and the rest are just pale images. Let hope I avoid that with the sequel. Thanks again. Andy -
[Andrew_Q_Gordon] Purpose
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Andrew Q Gordon's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Can't believe I missed this til now. Sorry. Yeah well, when I wrote the beginning, Ryan wanted to get away, far away from where it hurt the most. I'd say that is about as far away as possible. As for my writing, well if you're a premium member, I have something that's starting in the premium section. If you're not a premium member please consider joining, not just to read it, but to support the site. That story - Chosen of Honorus is once again, something different for me. One of these days I need to settle down and pick one genre. I'm not sure I can pick just one. But we'll see. Thanks as always Yeah this was somewhat grim. I'd say the grim was limited to the beginning but the end wasn't all roses and champagne either. I wanted something different, modern, dark, romance, character driven. I'm glad you liked it. I think it is my favorite story posted - for now. -
Your strategy for dealing with crude reviews?
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Hasimir Fenrig's topic in Writer's Circle
Mario, Here's the thing, you will NEVER get everyone to write good things. Some read it for enjoyment and other read it to judge it against 'their exacting standard.' If you got a bunch of negative review and no one liked it, well then you might want to consider that it wasn't any good, but you got a lot of good reviews and one poor one. That poor one is the outlier and like they do with a curve, they toss the high and the low and average the rest. Take the Twilight books, some people love them so much others think they're trash. My point is you read the negative review and see if there is anything to learn from it. What I would take from the reviews - all of them - is that for the most part, people who like to read find it a good read and enjoyable. People who fancy themselves experts on reading, think you've written a cliche book, filled with all the typical elements of a teen drama. Perhaps you do and maybe the next book you'll want to look into that. But then again, there is a reason there is a 'check list' out there for gay teen drama, it's because it's what people want. And it seemed to me those people - the majority who read this type of story - were happy. That's how you deal with it. Andy -
[Andrew_Q_Gordon] Comings and goings
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Andrew Q Gordon's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Well as I mentioned in the topic Chosen of Honorus, I've spent a bit of my free time writing and rewriting and editing Chosen of Honorus for the Premium Content part of GA - I was trying to be tight lipped about this so if I seemed like I'd disappeared from writing, this is why. If you're not a Supporter of the site, please consider becoming one if you're able. Andy -
For those you who are supporters of the Gay Authors, I've written a new story for the Premium Sections. If you've followed my work, but are not Supporters of Gay Authors, I'd ask you to consider purchasing a membership to help support GA and keep it free for everyone to come post and read. There are a lot of great people - writers and readers - who come here everyday so is a way to say thank you to those who help GA stay on the net. As for the story - this was something I started many many years ago. It will likely stretch into 7 books in total - though I don't know if all will be in the the Premium section or not. When I started this I was just starting to write. The original manuscript has been drastically altered and rewritten though the story has remained the same. I've written close to 1.5 million words of this so there are several books already 'written' that just need some heavy editing. There are several people I'd like to thank up front as the first chapter comes out. Myr for believing in me enough to ask me to write something he uses to thank the supporters; Cia for her help and for encouraging me to use this story; Anyta for being my beta but mostly for being my friend; and Mike, my husband for pushing me into starting and keeping up with this. Hopefully there will be some discussion on the story, but it should be done in the Premium Story discussion forum - which is why this topic is locked. Andy
