Another fantastic chapter Mark. As I said in the chapter reviews, I am beginning to think to think Spencer doesn't care for Granger or his family for some reason.
Thanks Mark for this chapter.
My biggest worry on this Conway affair is Spencer's involvement. Freddy sent that note without Spencer's knowledge I am assuming. Is Spencer in on this Maidstone affair? My trust of Spencer has been shaky to say the least. First with the clerk and then when he threw Granger to the wolves during the first fleet mutiny.
Okay, we'll give until noon tomorrow. Just kidding Mark. Thanks for letting us know, it might even help us manage the Granger withdrawl shakes if we are not looking for the next chapter every few minutes.
Wow, Granger being given a free hand to reek havoc on some easy and profitable targets. I hope he has enough crew and officers for all the prize crews.
So now we need to determine who is behind this attempt to weaken the Granger clan. Could this be the work a group like Fox, the Wilcox clan in concert with Silly Billy?
Of course, it almost appears that Sir Toby might be so greedy that he just can't stand Albert getting all the graft he wants for himself.
There is one thing about reading a new chapter of Odyssey.
I know it will be another week before we get a new one.
One would think as old as I am, I would have gained some patience.
Not exactly the setting sail we were looking forward to. but it is likely to get the powers that be to finally decide on Berty's replacement.
I'm confident Mark will make sure Granger doesn't have to resign his commision or it will be a very short Odyssey.
I am wondering how Andrews knew of Dr Jackson's arrest? Is Andrews involved with the good Dr.? If someone had just notified the ship, wouldn't one of the Lt. be sent to inform Granger? Seems to me those two bare (I know it is the wrong word) watching.
Granger might be in hot water now. As much trouble and gossip Francis and George caused when together before they will likely be the talk of the fleet and really piss Caroline to the max.
Hey Mark! Just how long are going to have to endure this infernal vacation? Not that we don't want you to have a great time, but some of us are selfish pricks! (not me of course, these other selfish pricks)

Vacation!!!! Really?
DAMN-IT. If you insist, but we don't have to like it.
Just kidding, have a wonderful vacation and may your odyssey be wonderfully enjoyable!
Jim
p.s. I bet most of us hope it is shorter than you do.
I wonder if Spencer is smarter than i initially gave him credit for. If he realized that he (the government) would have to give in to most of the demands of the mutineers he could appear strong and let Granger take the heat. If that is true, it is chicken-shit of Spencer, but brilliant on his part.
The fact that a full ship could be a blessing if they get the good an honorable seamen,
Another interesting chapter. Most interesting because Mark has us all guessing about how Granger fits into this mutiny resolution and why a mere would be summoned as one Spenser's advisers.
I am one of loyal fans that want to see this latest blowhard Wilcox make a fool of himself with this latest conflict. I'm afraid this mutiny will get in the way and Wilcox won't get kicked in the ass.
