You are an amazingly talented writer. This is so GOOD! I want to know what Kevin did for the rest of the (canceled) semester, after he drove away from the Bakers' house in the middle of Hurricane Katrina. I guess we (the reader) already knew that there was no hope for Kevin and Matt, given that it's been years since they were together, and no communication at all during that time. But starting to learn the details of how and why it actually happened (their "break up", if you will) is just awful. Still, I can't wait to find out what will happen next. This and The Cockney Canuck are the best stories on Gay Authors. Keep up the great work!

@Dodger If Stephanie really is pregnant, and if you've already written the spinoff, please tell me how I can buy it. I would pay any amount of money!

I know it's years later but I feel compelled to comment anyway. I absolutely agree with the readers who noted the significant improvement in your writing in recent chapters (and especially this one!) compared to the beginning of the story. But mostly I wanted to say that I like Zune and Edward as a couple. Zune has been wondering since the beginning, how will he know if or when he is truly "in love" with Kevin. Based on his actions, Zune is clearly not in love with Kevin. But, based on his actions, there IS someone with whom Zune is in love. Unfortunately, however, Zune is (at this point) completely in denial about the depth of his feelings for Edward. (Or, maybe I'm delusional and putting feelings in to Zune's mind that aren't really there!) I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I sincerely hope that I am not delusional. I sincerely hope that Zune will come to his senses sooner rather than later by realizing that he DOES know what it feels like to be in love. It's how he feels when he's with Edward. I also hope that Zune will stop being so hard on himself. Sure, he could have handled the situation a lot better than he did. But you can't change what you've already done, and beating yourself up over it, doesn't solve anything. I also hope Zune will quit blaming Edward for their little "indiscretion". (It takes two to tango....) Edward is obviously head-over-heels in love with Zune, and Zune needs to realize that the way he left things with Edward, is going to devastate the poor boy. It would also be devastating if Ed's father has hidden security cameras on the property, maybe even inside the house. If so, the father is going to get an eyeful. And Ed's probably going to get shipped off to reeducation camp. Thank you for writing this excellent story. I can't wait to find out what happens next. And the really great thing is that I don't have to!

I predict that there will be a time, probably in the not-too-distant-future, when Corbin will be able to use the events of Sunday night with Chip, in a way that will be of great benefit to him. If you look up the word "slut" in the dictionary, you would NOT find a picture of Corbin. 5 guys in 6 days = probably a slut. 5 guys in 6 months = definitely not a slut! I hope that Corbin gets together with Lee at least one more time. Do you think Dom somehow heard about Corbin's "golf date" with Chip? And that's what Dom wanted to talk to Corbin about, before Chapter? It's interesting that Hutch can simultaneously be Corbin's friend, but also conspiring with Dom. If I were Corbin, I'd be paranoid that Hutch is going to report every detail about Corbin's life, back to Dominic. For example, about the note from Pete. Thanks for another awesome chapter, can't wait to see what will happen next!

I like that Corbin was nice to Lee. Out of all of Corbin's hookups, Lee is my favorite. Hopefully Corbin will hurry up and get Pete out of his system. Corbin's obsession with Pete is causing him to lose sight of what's really important. For example, if Corbin were thinking clearly, he would realize that he ought to be using his relationsihp with Lee to get all the inside information about Dom and Hutch. One can only hope that Corbin has an epiphany soon. Preferably in the next chapter!

Chapter 137 If the Shoe Doesn't Fit
mg777 commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 137 If the Shoe Doesn't Fit
Dodger this is the best, most entertaining drama that anyone could ever hope to find. The plot is really thickening. Thank you! -
Think about this: everyone just assumes that Conner was upstairs sleeping all night. But isn't it actually far more likely that in reality, Conner waited patiently until Sue and Nicola went to bed. And then waited another 30 minutes to be extra cautious. And then snuck out of the house & rode Daniel's bike over to Ginny's place, where he then lured Nathan outside by saying that they needed to have a "talk" about Robbie. While it's possible that Conner's original intention was simply to "warn" Nathan to stay away from Robbie, suffice it to say that their "talk" did not go well (you can imagine how easy it would be for Nathan to get under Conner's skin with his tendency to turn everything in to a sexual innuendo - and in this case, all of Nathan's innuendos would be about Robbie, which would infuriate Conner.) An enraged and out-of-control Conner proceeded to beat Nathan until he was unconscious, before returning to Sue and Don's house, leaving Nathan to (hopefully) die of exposure and/or traumatic brain injury. The other thing that's likely, is that Conner somehow managed to frame Alex for the "gay bashing" of Nathan - but my Magic 8 Ball has not revealed any specific details about how Conner would be able to pull this off. Fortunately, the real author of this story is a lot smarter than me, and I can't wait to see what kind of scheme he's worked out on Conner's behalf! On a somewhat-related subject, I do have a question for the other readers of this sublimely-entertaining saga. I don't think anyone would disagree that Robbie unfortunately lacks the "acumen" to figure out on his own that he is dating a psychopath. So the question is, who is most likely to be the one to realize that Conner is cuckoo, and warn Robbie (just in the nick of time) that his life is in grave danger: will it be Nicola, Sue, Don, Daniel, Amy, Rory, Alex, Jo, or the Retired Social Worker™?

I hope it's Lee who is waiting on Corbin's bed.....naked. Or a naked Mike would be just as good. Even better would be both of them! Unfortunately real life is never (well, rarely) that interesting, so it'll probably turn out to be Dominick. (Then again, a clothesless Dominick would be .... completely unrealistic and out of character. So nevermind.) Thanks for another fantastic chapter. I love that we got to find out Dominick's last name. And, I can't wait to see what kind of drama Corbin is going to instigate at the IFC. I hope that whatever Corbin does at IFC has the indirect result of making Dominick look ineffectual, incompetent, and weak. I also hope that Corbin will follow the Dean's advice by laying low....at least at his first meeting. Knowing Corbin, though, I would surmise that the odds of him laying low at the first IFC meeting, are about equal to the odds of it being a naked Dominick who is waiting for Corbin on his bed. Speaking of Dominick, does he have a girlfriend in the story? Isn't it a little bit "suspicious" that he seems to be spending all of his time hanging out with Hutch and Lee? Are you (=JWolf) able to tell us if the real-life Dominick is dating (or married to) a woman today? Or did he turn out to be gay? Even if he's not gay, I still think that he (Dominick) subconsciously (or possibly even consciously!) wants to find out what it would be like to get fucked by Corbin. I also am starting to wonder why I am so fixated on Dominick....

I have to say that some of these comments are as good as the story (which, to be clear, is a great story!) - you guys had me laughing out loud.....thanks!

I, too, am totally glad that Jake and Danny finally went all the way! Jake and Danny have that certain je ne sais quoi. Their chemistry is palpable. To be honest, I am frankly totally jealous of their awesomely dysfunctional relationship. If you think about it, there's no reason why Danny can't be Christine to Jake's (passive-aggressive and disturbingly-codependent version of) Raoul and therefore, they have to live happily ever after. Or, more realistically, they will live happily for the 3 days before Christine introduces her new girlfriend into the equation. Causing Jake to rush back into the boring but safe and predictable arms of the Phantom. Wash, rinse, repeat ad nauseam....

I like that Robbie keeps repeating the same shit over and over because that’s how most people are, especially 16 year olds. Conner doesn’t seem like the right person to help Robbie mature. Plus, Robbie doesn’t need to worry about maturing until after his wedding to Tom anyway. It’s pretty clear that Robbie is one of those kids who has to learn everything the hard way. And there’s nothing wrong with that. (The Retired Social Worker would be the first to agree!) I hope that Robbie keeps fucking everything up for at least another 134 chapters.

Of Booze, Boys, Brothers, and Bigs
mg777 commented on Jwolf's story chapter in Of Booze, Boys, Brothers, and Bigs
Of course The Cockney Canuck is the best story on the entire internet (except for this one 👲) so it wouldn't be a bad thing at all, to be like The Cockney Canuck. -
PPPS - Please, please, please don't let it be true that Dustin got addicted to Oxycontin and then had to switch to heroin when the government cracked down on the Sackler family's pill-pushing enterprise and poor Dustin subsequently OD'd when he accidentally shot up fentanyl instead of heroin. Because that would suck!

I can't believe you wrote all this in like a week, that is incredible. You are an amazing storyteller. Thank you for this most-welcome distraction from the best-forgotten real world. PS - The phone sex was hot! But, I do worry that Danny will somehow "forget" to delete the incriminating pictures of Jake, which will surely come back to haunt one (or both) of them in a later chapter...... PPS - Where's Dustin?!

Of Booze, Boys, Brothers, and Bigs
mg777 commented on Jwolf's story chapter in Of Booze, Boys, Brothers, and Bigs
Thanks for another excellent chapter. I was getting ready to KILL Corbin, if he had somehow convinced himself to use Pete as a reason not to do the deed with David. Thankfully, it was very gratifying to see Corbin come to his senses just in the nick of time. Question: any chance that we (=the readers) will ever be so lucky as to get the back story RE from whom (and when, and where, and how) David learned everything he knows?! Enquiring minds want to know! -
@droughtquake you are on a roll, your comments made me laugh out loud, thanks! And even bigger thanks to Dodger for another fantastic chapter. I hope you are able to keep writing during the complete breakdown of society, because this story is all that is left to look forward to. But, no pressure or anything....

I love, love, love this story and this chapter is better than ever! I especially love Mike the Cadet, whose presence is sorely missed, and who I sincerely hope gets an early release from his quarantine. I also love learning about all of the sneaky, underhanded machinations and manipulations that are involved in the behind-the-scenes Chi Beta in-house politics. And most of all, I love every scene that features Lee! In my opinion, it is very unfortunate for Corbin that he (Corbin) seems to be hell-bent on ruining his life by getting together with Pete. You don't have to be a fortune teller to see that Corbin is destined for great things during his senior year, as long as Pete isn't around to drag him down. Without Pete distracting him and holding him back, Corbin's accomplishments next year will be legendary in their long-term impact on not only his fraternity, but also the entire OD student body. Whereas if Corbin is stuck with Pete next year - forget it. He'll drop out of school, gain 40 pounds, and go from being a (usually) charming, mostly-functional alcoholic, to an annoying lush who forgets to bathe. At this point, it seems like there is little hope of Corbin escaping from Pete's clutches. But, you never know -- it's not impossible that David or Lee or Mike could pull off a miracle by somehow finding a way to open Corbin's eyes before it's too late... I guess the one overarching reason for optimism (if your goal is to get Pete out of Corbin's life for good) is that we are reading The English Year, as opposed to The English Decade, or The English Lifetime.... Thanks for all the hard work you have put in to writing this awesome story, it is greatly appreciated. Especially now.

I thought for sure that when Don offered to drive Robbie to Conner's house, that his (Don's) actual plan was to kidnap Robbie and take him to one of those "gay conversion camps" that are hidden deep in the woods, 150 miles (241.4 kilometers) or more from the nearest civilization. I thought for sure that Don would explain Robbie's disappearance by telling Sue and Nicola and Daniel that Robbie had decided to stay at Conner's farm for the rest of Winter Vacation. This would have given Don a good 2-3 weeks to either straighten Robbie out, or figure out a way to steal his inheritance, or kill him, or all of the above. Another thing - and I admit that I could be totally wrong about this, because I can't remember any more where I got the idea, or why I'm so sure that it's correct -- but I have always believed that Mr. Andrews is Robbie's real father. And that Sue and Don must be aware of this. I would assume that Don has ordered Sue not to talk to Mr. Andrews. Yet we now have evidence that Sue is in fact plotting something with Mr. Andrews, behind Don's back. Hopefully they are planning ahead for how to go about rescuing Robbie after Don kidnaps him and holds him hostage at one of those gay conversion camps that are hidden deep in the woods, 150 miles (241.4 kilometers) or more from the nearest civilization. What would be really depressing is if it turns out that Sue and Mr Andrews are actually plotting how they're going to steal Robbie's inheritance from Don, after Don steals it from Robbie. On a completely different subject - I wish that Alex hadn't turned out to be a sex offender. Or a sexual predator. Or an almost-rapist. I mean that I wish Alex had not sexually assaulted Robbie. And I wish that we had never learned that Alex had (has?) a completely delusional perception of his "relationship" with Robbie. Because up until that point, I really liked Alex a lot. I also wish that it had turned out that Rory was secretly gay for Robbie all along. I still hope that it turns out that Nathan and Daniel have been (and still are!) gay for each other all along. And I definitely hope, for Robbie's sake, that he (Robbie) doesn't find out about this until the end of the sequel to The Cockney Canuck (the sequel being The Cockney and the Canuck). Because by then, Robbie and Tom will be living their Happily Ever After. So Robbie would have no reason to feel jealous or depressed about Nathan and Daniel hooking up. Thanks for all the hard work you've put in to writing this great story, Dodger. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that you've been secretly putting even more hard work in to secretly working on the sequel (The Cockney and the Canuck) which I realize is supposed to be a secret, so I totally get it if you feel compelled to publicly deny that you've already secretly written 67 chapters of the sequel. Regardless, I think you're amazing.

I don’t know how you could have possibly made that (beautiful) speech at the end of the chapter, without breaking down in tears. All I was doing is reading it, and it made me cry! You are an amazingly talented writer. Thanks for continuing this story. Can’t wait to see what will happen next. I still hope Corbin ends up with Mike, or even Lee — anyone but Pete!

I can't wait to find out who's going to gate-crash Ginny's New Year's Eve party! Robbie almost seems as if he's subliminally trying to ruin anything good that might come of his relationship with Connor. I can't say that I blame him, though; I would probably do the exact same thing, if I were in his shoes. Thanks for another great chapter, Dodger.

No one forced Amber to kill herself. Jake is 18 and until very recently, had spent his entire life in a physically and emotionally abusive household. For these reasons, it's certainly understandable why he would make some bad decisions. It doesn't mean he's a horrible person, give him a break. Good grief!
-
I respectfully disagree with this opinion. I have always felt, and still feel, that Dodger has a "grand plan". But even if I'm totally delusional and that's not actually the case, the writing is so good that it wouldn't matter anyway; this story is still more entertaining to read than anything else I can think of! My one complaint about this chapter is that there was a fleeting moment where it seemed certain that we were finally going to hear from Nathan's own lips, what went on between him (=Nathan) and Alex in the past. As for Robbie and Nathan.....if Robbie is already getting maudlin about their time together, then he might as well (try to) get back together with Nathan, as this will surely provide a refresher on why they will never work as a couple on a long-term basis. Also it's important that Robbie get all of this out of his system ("all of this" = Nathan; Connor; sucking off random boys on Thanksgiving; taking VIAGRA® and sleeping with girls, etc.) over the next 2 years, so that he'll be ready to settle down when his real True Love (=Tom) moves to Cobourg, once Tom turns 18! Which we all know is inevitable, ever since @droughtquake revealed to the whole world, the existence of your (formerly) secret manuscript The Cockney and The Canuck......

This is very disturbing to read because of how eerily similar it is to real-life experience that I wish I'd never experienced.

Chapter 125 The Boy from Neverland
mg777 commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 125 The Boy from Neverland
The Cockney Canuck in its entirety is just freaking amazing and this chapter in particular made me cry because I'm so happy for Robbie. Dodger, I hope you know that you have the potential to become only the second author in history to write a story that's a million words long, which is still just as riveting at word 1,000,000, as it was at word 1. (I hope that made sense.) All you need to do is write about 44 more chapters. Not to pressure you or anything, but I know you can do it! Thank you for sharing your talent with the rest of us. Every time I see that you've posted a new chapter, it brings me great joy. Michael -
Sophomore Year - Chapter 12
mg777 commented on oat327's story chapter in Sophomore Year - Chapter 12
Like everyone else, I too love this story and so glad to find this new chapter. It totally reminds me of my college years as well, so much so that it’s kind of eerie. Thanks for continuing to share your amazing work with the rest of us. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. Much as I love (and relate to) Becker, I still hope Kevin disappears into the sunset with Matt!!! I also hope Becker & Patrick get together at least one more time before graduation, and have “real” sex this time. Don’t ask me why. I guess I kind of like Patrick (?)
