Great chapter as we learned a little more about all the boys and that Celia already knew better about the knuckles lie. The relationship between Joel with reach of the Connelly parents is interesting; Trace coaching while Celia awaits him to share but is a very encouraging and comforting mom. Joel still hasn’t been there that long but he’s seemly about ready to share the story…at least with Celia. Then even more surprising is how quickly the call from family helped Joel to decide he will transfer; knuckle sandwich to Jonny, confession of lie to Celia, witnessing no backbone from his dad…boom, decision made - I want to transfer. I don’t want the rumors or them looking at me like that if they figure it all out. Hmmm 🤨, Celia heard that loud and clear if her mom hers weren’t clogged; I’m sure she has a much better picture in her mind about what Joel is dealing with. Tye twin are a great distraction; but it may be Joel that provides more of the distraction for a frustrated Davin. Davin seems to be taking Colts relationship too personal for just being a friend concerned if the girl is good enough for Colt. True but even then, love blinds us to not demand DNA pre birth…it’s the ole stigma of you don’t trust me or if you loved me… That’s why I think it should be universal to do the DNA with mandatory disclosure to the bio-parents or anyone named on the certificate or better yet …the preferred method being done the third trimester ultrasound/checkup, avoiding being improperly named as the father on the actual birth certificate. Knowing this is law would avoid most claims that are knowingly false.

Then again, how many newly introduced guardians expect to have inherited a nymphomaniac for their ward? Their previous thoughts were about boys, and their rising problems, but not a nymph. Laws need to reflect that parental lineage is not done by hearsay, even now with DNA, the courts deem no laws broken by the mom, and the duped father is assumed to have adopted the child upon taking them home, therefore child support remains his responsibility while his wife went back and married the bio dad. 🤔 🤷‍♂️ Terribly unfair; blood typing and DNA should be mandatory and no law should ever force parental responsibility on an unknowing non-bio dad. And women knowing otherwise and declaring another as the father should be held accountable for defrauding the forced fatherhood upon a know innocent. Many forms required in life require signature of truthfulness under penalty of law…a birth certificate should be no less. My friend’s life was totally changed due to this exact type situation, and yet the laws continued to add insult by him paying child support for the bio dad and stepfather’s kids; yes they lived with mom and “stepdad” and identified him as bio/real dad. Laws protecting men are so fukd up. Yes, this really was a HS friend, and not me…truly a friend, destined for college but never had his chance as disappointed parents believed you made your bed and you must lay in it.

Too bad the three strikes rule wasn’t invoked as part of the epilogue; along with Killian bringing in much business for Novak, the announcement by Novak that incompetent cop had just been reprimanded until breaking department rules with case information leaks that got him sacked. It’s heartwarming that Micah loves Killian for who he is and to not have the controlling and threatening relationship that he had with Asher; perhaps Killian is clairvoyant too and knew not too put himself out there completely with Asher…that would have only been a contentious FWB. I loved that Seth is still with us and protecting Killian; the willingness to risk everything because the critical situation demanded his all. Giving Killian the strength needed to survive and then masking Killian’s gifts with a little moment of mystery tape silence, Seth is amazing that he was gifted too, with additional time to mentor Killian in dealing with his developing gifts. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Killian and crew…including prankster Kane; where did he escape to now? Oh, meeting girls as little bro to the Wonder Boy.
