Oh I think the distance, space to breathe, and some new friends that already have to know there is a significant reason for Joel showing up, is a life saving Grace for Joel. Yet the parents don’t hide that they think Joel needs to see his parents…but he is welcomed to return before even leaving. That’s a strong parental message to the kids and friends…Joel is not a problem but is to be supported in his moment of need. Staying to play ball in his hometown made would jeopardize Joel’s chances of staying the course to play. He will have time to be accepted, he will have the twins and the Connelly connections for support…and the community will be motivated by a simple competitive chance at claiming that elusive title championship. 🤣 He’s gay, but he can shor’nuff play ball!

Ahhh, but The Best Year is a classic. So the quality is definitely worth any patience for posting…or for tweaking the storyline as the author ✍️ finds the characters need to speak.

Ahhh, but as he didn’t grab anything, not even his own hidden money, but rather went for only one thing…the gun hidden in his father’s nightstand. Then he specifically told Cody where his money was and for him to do what he wanted for himself with it. His deep, dark, depression was in overdrive. He was indeed planning ahead…just not thinking it was much beyond that bridge on a crooked, beer can infested, backroad; the ole pickup helped decide that spot vs back in the woods. That didn’t require a shower, shoe change, or money for gas/food. Ironically, Jonny and the misfits may have come along just in time to help highlight the situation that enlightened Trace. But as Trace said, the logging truck accident and Joel’s truck wanted them to meet on that bridge; and that probably saved Joel’s life and avoided Trace reading the news…or needing therapy if he had seen the truck off in the woods and found Joel two steps ahead of him. 😢

I could see him accepting and being supportive if not more; and whether him or one of the worshipping twins, they will be a close knit support group…even if they have growing to do themselves; in other words…I may pick on my brother, but if you do, you will suffer my wrath. Hahaha

I think a flashback memory/event might quench the thirst, but remember that Joel is a very much in the closet virgin gay boy, so trying to wring out to much back story may be rather tough; for as much as Joel has told us, he never saw anyone show indications of returning eye contact, interest, or smirking 😏…which would have likely outed him much earlier than this story timeline allows. However, given the small town population and school demographics, it’s likely there is another Joel type in the mix…was the brown-eyed boy one who tagged along with the ruffians to stay hidden in plain sight? Hmmm 🤔, it takes a lot to be apologetic and compassionate after a gun is pulled. Yet he knew they went too far, apologized that they did it and that he was part of that. There was quite a lot spoken in few words…after some reflection on that event and the gossip news network coverage, I can see both boys possibly getting together and being supportive friends…if not more. Of course, distance makes it more difficult, but Trace says Cody WILL COME VISIT, so what’s the possibility of a friend helping with little bro and getting his visit too? 🤣 Many avenues yet to explore…in these small towns. 😝

Maybe he is more than nice eyes…it’s what’s inside that counts, right. But a nice hot skin suit on a toned sexy body is a very nice package to unwrap

Somehow I missed this story posting, but at the end of chapter 1 I’m very much wanting more. Please keep it alive and updated.

I think there’s more out there than a lone teen in the night can imagine, but unfortunately not many are in the right spot at the time needed or perhaps are not as smart to put the scene they see into proper context to prevent a one way ticket to a final curtain call or a lonely road where predators are often more savvy than the good hearted Traces that would otherwise step up; yes, very sad. Even if Joel was turning 18 tomorrow, what his mother did by giving a no notice eviction, to a minor to boot, is illegal and should be reported and treated as such. As her other minor kid gets taken away due to parental abuse and neglect, then let her precious reputation sell that story at her clerk job or church. She’s not a good person and definitely not a worthy mom.

Ironically Tony invited family to move there with them…but could it be that Aaron’s side of the family has already jumped on that thought? Haha, that’s a new twist to house warming party.

Ahhh, but even the overprotective dad has to let things happen more to the choices of those he wishes to protect; coach and guide, but don’t control. They may have to get back up with limited help as over providing doesn’t allow them to learn from their own mistakes or decisions. But over control leads to extreme resentment that may last a lifetime.

Manipulative and I think possibly dishonest by omission. I think there’s much more to this party and it’s not anywhere near safe as a regular class. I hope he gets more input from others; Mark, Christian, etc, that may give him a more honest and realistic picture of these parties and their history.

OMFG, just today I had taken my neighbor boy to a swimming lesson. He ate part of a bacon, egg, and cheese burrito for a snack break before returning to the pool. I then kept watch as an army of ants working in synchrony moving a dropped nugget of scrambled egg several inches towards a crack in the concrete sideway. Whether lifting and moving backwards or forward the ants naturally knew whether way to move, then as they approached the crack ants on the crack side of movement naturally stepped back as the others rolled it into the crack. Then they surrounded that nugget again as during the kids swimming playtime ticked away so did the nugget as it sunk into the dirt of that crack; yup, melted was the appearance as they moved the granular dirt to allow the cache of scrambled egg to sink into a den of safe keeping. So the idea of a synchronous swarm of mosquitoes airlifting a piece of dung as big as Lewis Huber to a place of breeding and feeding is not as far fetched as it may seem. 🤣

Little brothers may change their own tunes once they see how juni has changed their older brothers; even putting on a brave face will eventually crack under pressure, so dear ole daddy will probably put the son into PTSD shock and lil’ bro will see the broken shell of his former bully bro. So will he read the writing on the wall or follow the idiot dad…unless big bro steps up to the rescue. Hmmm 🤔…could happen…

Yup hard to question dead men, but dead men switches clear themselves so that more innocents are not taken by suicidal terrorist. The information gleamed from questioning terrorist is often dated and irrelevant by the time it’s collected…so dead men are a risk eliminated and a savings to tax payers; as facilities and guards for terrorist are a very expensive proposition with a low success rate for removing them from society’s threat. Sounds cruel and inhumane, but would you release them upon your hometown? Mortars are not precision weapons and their use meant war on civilian targets for mass casualties with intent for numerous attempts of murder.

Ahhh, the sweet engagement of the human animals, just being free in their desires and actions within nature; got to love the comfort found within each other, surrounded in that freedom. A new step in the relationship as Aaron was ready to open up, and open up he did as he encouraged his man to claim him after their long journey back together. A new step for Tony too, as he was able to share himself in body and the spirit of their joint commitment to live as family…in their new home in the making. Aaron is excited and even gives Tony encouragement that his family soon be welcomed too if that seems to be right.

@Jeff Burton, another great chapter, loaded with a lot of new and interesting information, yet, it does not unravel much as we await understanding of Joshua and obviously much more in this complex story. It seems much like chumming the waters to draw us in, yet the blood lust just has us circling for more. Thanks for this exciting story and especially for sharing it with us.
