Hmmm 🤔 talk? In coherent english?? I’m doubting it….now full out BANSHEE, …with reverberations achieving near that of a CHOIR of BANSHEES….YES!!! 😈 Mom! Put away the crystal and any glassware, tape the mirrors and windows; a sonic storm is coming!!

Well regardless how mad Ann Marie may be, at least Timothy can enjoy the fact…that she doesn’t talk to him! Hahahaha 😆

Poor Karl, still reeling from the night’s events; becoming more perplexed of those events leading up to the hospital emergency care. What happened to cause this? How could someone…? Why? Why? Why? Though not of war itself, these events have opened Karl’s eyes to the harder reality of the world around him now; blood, death, the fear of pain and loss shared by others thrust in to sharing such unwanted events; it’s a loss of innocence for this sweet young man, but hopefully not so traumatic to cause recurring unrest. Somewhat mentally overwhelmed and in a state of shock, Karl desperately needs comforting and needs to get some sense of control and normalcy back in his life too. Luckily, he realized the need to take nourishment for his own physical health, but poor Karl is drained mentally and physical. Mr Hopkins, Robert, is not in much better shape mental, as he blames himself. We get a hint of George’s relationship as part of the family, but the why and how of the Hopkins’ need for guardianship remains elusive, though surely more understood than Karl being found on the sidewalk. Knowing the levels of care and understanding for mental treatment in years past, I can’t say that Robert’s logic was unfounded. It will also come at a big price in commitment, while hopefully not breaking the family bonds and trust to see George through this. @LittleCherryBlossom26, you’re addressing hard issues, but I like the switching POVs to better define the gravity of this tragedy beyond just George. Good job 👏

So sad, yet so heartwarming. The families are becoming one now even more than before. It’s hard to make good memories with the shadow of the reaper lurking near. Hopefully, Belle may be one of the people whose system fights to put the cancer in remission, but the realistic lookout is to just make and enjoy some good memories while the opportunity remains; and to help prepare legally and emotionally for the day the reaper draws near. 😢 The support and bonding with their newly extended family is what’s so heartwarming, as they become one and share the loss together, the transition to the new reality becomes second nature. Just as Bubbles reluctantly adjusted to the unfamiliar, these kids will already have love and support all along the way! ❤️🩹 ❤️ Yay, Ethan seems to remain stable with Felicia joining the mix; promising indeed.

Regardless the Viking raids and heritage imposed on England in centuries past, this Dane known as Karl came in young, naive, undeniable peace. Even with George being less than friendly, “we are not friends,” the fear and compassion for George runs strong enough to indicate maybe young Karl needs the friend to get better. Karl doesn’t yet understand all these changes, feelings…his and others, but the ache does pull at him and is letting him know things are different with and for him…and/or George. The youth and innocence is just multiplied by the lack of Karl’s communication skills, but yet he still comes thru as a young hero; when he himself is in uncharted waters of language, family, relationships, emergency actions, etc. Karl has every right to be somewhat overwhelmed and to feel extra stress, yet he is still the resilient young lad is Dane father thought him to be. @LittleCherryBlossom26, wow, the emotions, suspense, and drama are coming in waves so ever changing. Great job of keeping it suspenseful and yet heartwarming; who could not love Karl? ❤️

Chapter 27: The Two Scientists
Philippe commented on C. Henderson's story chapter in Chapter 27: The Two Scientists
Well of course I did, thanks for calling me out so that I may correct that too. With Vinicius at work there is no telling how many DNA splices and extra chromosomes Dani may have; just hoping none are shared with Deadnus! 😝 -
Chapter 27: The Two Scientists
Philippe commented on C. Henderson's story chapter in Chapter 27: The Two Scientists
“It’s not madness, my friend. It is real. Years of work…all for her.” “If only she were here to witness it, Eric. My biggest regret.” “By granting her wish, her memory continues to live, Vinicius, even when she is gone. Even after we are gone. It is because of her that the revolution will begin,” he said and Vinicius nodded his head. Van Sant continued, “It’s mad, but brilliant. Positively brilliant. This will change everything.” Hmmm 🤔, I’m thinking Edward is not the best at keeping the secrets that Vinicius seemed so skilled at. Edward Graham, continues to run at the mention of the “rebirth” and now “Dahlia” which brings major sensitivities to all the parties. It may be that the keys to what Eric Van Sant knows to be the beginnings of the revolution must not be unveiled until Dani is “unlocked” at eighteen; which arguably questions the logic of Dani having the letter earlier, but then with the state killing and removing threats where else can one assure Dani will receive it? So is he more afraid of letting too much be known or just wickedly freak that Vinicius’ plan is manifesting before his very eyes? Could it be that Dani and Vincent are related? Patience my nephew, your granddaddy was misguided but a brilliant man. We shall remove this stain of Deadnus for as sure as she exterminated your family, she is exterminating the very government she’s bound to protect; a ravenous cancer. 🤣 We need to get ready for one hell of a birthday surprise 🥳 🎂 🎉 🎊 , one has to wonder what other GIFTS Dani may receive on his SPECIAL day. @C. Henderson, how do you personify this Deadnus character without suffering the nausea of the killing field she populates? 😈 -
Given their history with Anders that Kalian, Talon, and the misfits all had, to now have confirmation that this lunatic has been playing with their emotions, while masking his training, abilities, and travels from them begs of high crimes; yet, by hook and crook he is somewhat protected with some claims of diplomatic immunity while visiting, and now in his home country they would jeopardize their own immunity from the crazy king. Argh 😖 Kalian, encapsulate his frontal lobes with your force field and squeeze the consciousness from his demented mind!!! More seriously, where did he train? How much does the King know or suspect? Is the emissary assignment a ruse for the lunatic or for the King? I could see the King pitting the cousins against each other in hopes of ridding himself of two powerful magical folk, but it’s hard to know his end game; unless there is already a true successor secreted away for the maneuvers he has yet to accomplish. Misfits: it’s been seven years and now it seems you’re services shall be called to battle; ahem, get Wyn some battle gear and training, he’s going to interject himself anyway….hahaha

It’s so comforting to know that nothing’s changed…except the Kingdom? Nation? Realm? And perhaps a twelve year old that has no idea just exactly how his parents, sitters, and teachers went from most wanted to being the founders of their new nation and government. Wow, that parent/teacher conference will be a history debate. Given the time jump, I still wonder the of the history search for the ancient languages, and does Wyn have a better understanding of his lineage; of his family and gifts…pure Druid?
-
Oh heck yeah! I’m not sure why or how I missed this new book posting but I’m on it now! What a great start with the timeline jumping forward just enough to enjoy Wyn as teen in a tween body! 😝 But the kid does have good logic and wit, or is that the patience of Talon…”Disrespectful old crow. Cut him in half dad.” Likewise the diplomacy internally has made great strides but ole Granddaddy Jackass Sumoron proves himself every bit as manipulative and persistent as we’d come to expect from the previous book.

Yay, Karl is back and he’s to the rescue. Given his young age, as a war refugee, country raised, with English as a foreign language, foster child Karl is being put to the test tonight; and he is rising to the challenge one should never have to confront. Without modern first aid training and suffering a lack of help present, at least Karl stayed composed enough to call without going into shock himself. Hopefully he maybe applies compression bandages to stem the blood loss, but even the old procedures of a tourniquet could likely suffice and be tolerated for this short rescue delay. No doubt now, the Hopkins clan will take more drastic measures to oversee George’s recovery, as giving him space and encourage alone is not working nor is it safe any longer. Whether a desperate cry for help or an ultimate act of surrender, even George will likely be shocked by his own actions once the cruel reality is laid exposed, and hopefully he will they be more willing to accept help. Then in healing maybe George may have faith enough to share his burden with those most able to try understanding his situation; a difficult burden to have and hold in the 1940s, but I have faith in these people enough that even Mrs Hopkins would know to not put her church above her children publicly.

Oh my goodness, the darkness is closing in and too close; so much so that my throat constricts and my eyes water just thinking about this. I ready do miss the other characters but readily admit the focus being on George to this point helps with feeling the sense of isolation and darkness that is enveloping George on what I hope is the cusp of rescue from himself; his own mind. @LittleCherryBlossom26, please don’t leave George, or us hanging on this cliff of the dark abyss.

I love where lawyers practice “legalized” bullying and get called out. The maneuvers they use in subterfuge and financial extortion often through legal filings, delays mired in discovery of tangential distractions, and court proceedings designed to delay the core lawsuit while the decisions of allowing or disallowing those superfluous counter claims and their discovery to yet again delay the court hearings…argh. But then when their underhandedness finally gets them caught up in board review, they suddenly have a seminar or high priority case that requires their attention, causing them to reschedule their calendar and/or to have another lawyer cover proceedings until they’re back; in other words, even within the brotherhood they got sanctioned or disallowed court privileges until their penance is fulfilled; assuming less than disbarment of course. Hopefully the lawyer gets his just rewards and either the junior partner or paralegal comes clean to avoid their own sanctions. Hmmm…Perhaps the heavenly voice can whisper in their ear also. Hahaha 😝

Hopefully George will come back to some sense of resuming his own life without Nathan. It’s so hard in the youthful years to understand just how much life has to offer you. I can only hope he doesn’t go out the deep end and try to join Nathan; that would hurt so many and deny others of a more compassionate and outstanding future doctor; once he can climb from the turbulent pit of depression he has thrown himself into. I to miss Karl and look forward to catching up on his progress, achievements, and whether he has received any news from his occupied homeland and family. There are still many dark events and times for all to bear.

By being her attorney, they must work through him, not her. Therefore, all the time and efforts in facilitating and accommodating Ann Marie’s living are billable. It may not be a thank you but he can likewise extract a little reasonably good pay for all that are impacted, BEFORE, that escrow account will be released. Whether in cash deposits, bonds, or deeds, Ann Marie will not hold any until the billing is debited from such holdings. Ann Marie losses much power to abuse or misuse them when her licensed attorney is the broker by judicial law; unless she fires him, which could risk the lawsuit too.

Chapter 26: A Lovers’ Quarrel
Philippe commented on C. Henderson's story chapter in Chapter 26: A Lovers’ Quarrel
My my my, this is more confirmation than a reveal. Yet it does make subtle hints and promises that deserve evaluation and weighing. It is a very difficult position for Dani to be in, yet there too Dani appears to use his gifts even at rest, maybe more so. Dani seems too be slowly uncovering facts, marrying past and present, that are leading to truths; truths that are true reveals as opposed to revisionary history too often told to fit a more convenient history for the ones telling it. Vinicius does appear to have been a remarkable psychic. The gifts Dani has are the result of a long planned and specifically tailored set of tools that seem to help Dani arrive at an informed and balanced value system. Likewise, Dani can transform or return anything he knows he is facing; however, he remains alone within the Deadnus crowd and he has friends declared to the Vincient movement. It seems the birthday letter is a long awaited key to much of Dani’s questions; questions of what Vinicius was unable to say…before the 18th birthday, the day of his powers coming into full manifestation, perhaps a day of full enlightenment also. @C. Henderson, you continue to wrap mystery within mystery, wrapping past within present, and the historical supernatural within new generation designer supernaturals; wow 😮! Super job at creating new twists for mythical tales. -
Even with George in mental distress it’s hard to have sympathy for him while he is lashing out at another, somewhat innocent individual. Within the context of his mental anguish, I still feel sorry for George. He is living in a age of no tolerance for, a gay man, the sodomite; and to be declared as such may lead to quick persecution and/or extermination, depending on locale of such deviant behavior. Therefore, he can’t truly mourn nor take comfort from those whom would normally be able to give support during such a loss as they wouldn’t know or understand. Those societal pressures just multiply the number of mental stressors George is dealing with at this time of close, personal, and intimate loss. It’s an explosive scenario and the damages are yet to be accounted or revealed. So yes poor George, and anyone unprepared for his mental driven, explosive physical rages. So terribly sad 😢.

Yes, probably from regret of ‘cheating’ on Nathan when still unable to accept his loss. Yet, the actions to find some grounding will now feel like even another layer of betrayal for trying to replace Nathan; as if trying to forget, irrational. Hmmm 🤨, on top of all his emotional baggage, he now has the more personal sexual identity issue of cheating his own heart, trying to live a lie, that is against everything he and Nathan had. With alcohol diluted rationalization, of what he his doing to himself mentality, but add to that the more common lack of planning for the stranger, hetero, hookup; in an age of uncommon birth control (with appearances being, without personal protection), and risking great shame for an unwed mother, or living a sexual misogynistic existence as a gay man. Hopefully, the soldier didn’t infiltrated enemy territory without protective gear; otherwise, he could be in a continuous state of regret, sexual frustration, and with unsettled mental issues from his youthful loss trauma.

Lmao 🤣 “Fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck! He was so going to kill Rusty the first time he had the chance.“ With all the awkwardness of quenching a young men’s sexual and mating drive; how much seeking/allowing to find your own comfort and/or accepting ones own destiny often appears a blend of a potato sack race in a hopscotch relay. I agree with other comments that Rusty may have saved them both from ruining their chances at a growing relationship as Jonathan is reserved and Maddox is more of a honey bee; but now with a fatal attraction. So perhaps a little cold water from Rusty will help in the quenching and melding process of Madathan.

Poor George; whether survivors guilt, the lost of a friend, or the loss of an undeclared/declared love, it is obviously more than George can accept at this point. With his shattered mind rational thought processes are not possible, but at least the depression didn’t lead him to a more aggressive self harm. His mental health will be difficult enough to recover, without adding self inflicted bodily harm; especially in an age with less understanding of mental depression, and many families are losing young men to war, the knowledge of a young man harming himself would seem unforgivable. Karl is somewhat confused; by his lack of full communication skills, by the growing bonds he has yet to recognize, and by new psychophysical symptoms he is now experiencing for the first time. This is a very new world and age for young Karl. Great job for these young men keeping their cools under pressure, in an emergency; especially when Karl recognized that the brute force attempt to open the door was not working, and that Paul may be injured if he continued to overpower that locked door. @LittleCherryBlossom26, please don’t keep us sidelined with this supporting character in a coma! 👿

Difficult to write, difficult to read, but ultimately most difficult to experience it. @FrankD, you’re bringing us through the more difficult but more realistic and likely journey that many will face; too often it’s the tragic traffic accident with the police at the door approaching midnight. The tragic accident gives us the immediate shock and loss but this journey deals with choices that don’t allow for delays or indecision without a significant penalty for no reply; brutal but likewise it hasn’t opportunities for plans, new memories, and a chance for last words and farewells. I’m glad you’ve returned @FrankDand that you’re forging ahead with a real life journey that’s sure to pull a few tears in heartache and yet a few more in relief for continuity of a secure and loving support family.

Poor George, it appears medicine is the correct field of study for him, as his luck… is NOT in the cards. 😝 Young Karl is not of book learning, but his brain is far from idled. Karl is becoming more engaged in his own life with each choice he is making; though obviously needing help, support, and guidance, he is gaining confidence to make choices when presented. Hopefully, Karl will soon start more intensive studies to gain reading and writing skills too. Ironically, he will become more literate with english language skills than was possible and expected in his native tongue. As the family becomes more engaged to help Karl attempt family contact, one can only hope that Karl will still have reason to hope for his family’s survival; as the harsh environment they may be facing with the confluence of German Naval Forces, supply lines, and movement security can be unforgiving, especially in war. Likewise, Karl is young, but rapidly approaching adulthood, …and the the age of service. Even as a foreigner, he is a defacto resident citizen of England. This in itself may present challenges too, as even if not on the national registry he will be open to scrutiny when young men of equal age are called into service unless specifically exempted with cause. I wish not but that Karl was just a little younger…

The fecal oscillator is set for maximum dispersal should….sheep happen! These guards are untrained for anything fruitful and are more likely to back themselves or someone more dangerous than themselves into a corner…kinda like poking at a caged animal. It reminds me of the old joke…Did you hear what happened to that gal that backed into a guillotine….disaster. Even small movements in a hostile environment can be catastrophic.
