Lots of great interaction as the misfits regrouped with modifications of time/pairings. Squeals and stones that break the bones, such drama comes with kids in a supernatural home. Daddy Darko and Mommy dearest, invaders as refugees; mom seems to be breaking from dad’s control and dad has a new look and feeling… that is destitution. Talon is correct that serious questions need answers, while poor Kalian is still too forgiving without being shown remorse or explanations. Poison as and in war still lurks over the horizon. Many unknowns but hopefully the prior expedition and Wrynn’s spies will enlighten the leaders before executing their plans. @demiurge, a fantastic chapter to reset with family dynamics; the little ones, mom and dad, uncles and Aunt Queen, all bring renewed character to this adventurous tale. Please tell us the next chapter is near…as war is eminent, Wyn is plotting something! Hahaha 🤣

Hmmm, how can a simple sigh be a cliffhanger? Yet, it seems that the emotion has meaning that will be something unexpected or with complications. Thanks for returning once again to move this story along. It’s too good to let it anguish in abandonment. Hopefully your inspiration will remain near and spur another installment of beastly drama.

The nest…

So the mansion of the once formidable power family has been near completely erased. Gone is the hide-away prison of a childhood room where many hours were exhausted trying to light a single candle. Now the non-gifted child now fluxes on the edge of a supernova with new abilities emerging as merging their ying-yang light and dark gifts, these partners and dads bring forth force multipliers never before witnessed…why light a candle when you can shine light a brilliant sun. As the power couple has hinted, much remains of this war. With extended family secured and foe alliances more clear now, the next supernova flux may find the surrounding realms sweeping ashes before the arrival of our shining dad. Attacking Meep is already expected to be a challenge as much is yet to be understood or revealed about his heritage and powers, but while fully engaged with fighting a forest, the heat on their necks will soon become the flash of their lives passing as they see the light…the blinding light of dad passing judgment. @Demiurge, thank you much for your efforts to move this great story along. May your muse continue to grant you proliferation and inspiration for this wonderful tale.

The way everyone sees Luke’s mom…. The way Luke sees his mom The way Luke’s mom sees Jackson The way Henry sees his wife All this, because Cindzilla wants Luke to have a normal life?? Perhaps The Best Year is defined as one we’ll not have to ever relive!

Embers indeed, this book builds in combustibility and when the flame flickers out the heat remains intense. As with the Book 1, 2, 3, and now 4 characters, we have to wonder just where and how these characters may cross paths again in future endeavors. @WolfM, another great book bringing growth from trauma and pain; though the achieved life happiness for Brandon seems to be inviting possibilities of seeing more of his character. Thanks again for the excellent journey with circles looping the Down Under…and honorable mentions of the CJ crowd too. 😛

We’ll thank you for your thoughts and the compliment. I’m glad you could find your response motivation, but it’s your tale that puts us in comment mode for joyful chatter.

Yeah. never too far away, but I did get behind on my reading and any comments. Since November my mom has only been home for 6 weeks; otherwise it’s been about equal between the hospital and rehab. So it’s been very busy and also a challenge to stay focused, but yup, never too far removed. lol Thanks for making note and for the cheer.

Book three completed in my re-read of the Running With the Pack series. The book is just as exciting this time through as the first time I read it. Likewise, the Covid inspired Epilogue with a happier outcome fits well within the redemption elements we have come love from this series. After many twists and building mystery, often experiencing pain and drama rooted in selfishness or greed; money, power, and corruption or just egos and misplaced empowerment. @WolfM, what a joy to re-experience this series. Thank you for the fantastic journey, now on to Book 4.

Well Book 2 takes the pain and trauma of Book 1 to the flip side, to understand that victims are far too often relative to the perspective. The introspective journal was tough to read without becoming more understanding of Chris and without totally believing it as it is him speaking to himself; and though the Doc was a reader, Chris was begging for her help, so again believable. @WolfM, I found it hard not to cry multiple times throughout the story, for the victims on both sides of this journey. Very well done to bring the attachment and compassion for this convicted violent offender; perhaps we all know just how gullible and stupid we are in youth, mirrors can be a tough enemy to beat.

Chapter 36: What's In A Name
Philippe commented on C. Henderson's story chapter in Chapter 36: What's In A Name
The Rebirth remains a mystery in what exactly Vinicius created. But my sinister mind wants it to not only reverse the vampire process on the individual, but to also give immunity to the same; e.g. Deadnus becomes human, and should some ally believe they’ll just turn her again, it just wouldn’t happen, it wouldn’t allow her. Assuming it was not viral in blood trans to others , then that further degrades Deadnus from being human with lots of enemies of her own making, she really just becomes a blood bag hag to provide a fresh snack…that’s if they acquire a taste for sour snacks. -
Instincts mute, as King Rusty should know, Matty too doubtful to let skins show. Cat Boy loves Rusty, this much is true, Cat Boy, Matty, double take, super glue. Infatuation, meets love, in one, Both be targets by Conner and John. Rusty has plan as Matty does too, Which group will walk, another man’s shoe. Sinister Conner has John play fool, Matty and King, will expose this tool. Rusty has talent, his voice will tell, Which audience does he hope to sell? Who are they to you, Mrs May ask, Practice and setup, required this task. His performance, announcement of kind, This is me, like, or kiss my behind. Notes for dad? Self? Maybe all mankind, Perhaps a serenade, boi be mine.

Then smile on @WolfM, after years removed from my initial read of this wonderful tale, I returned to take the journey with what I remembered fondly but without the details of the story; therefore the the attraction was there and once started the re-read was just as exciting as the initial read. Your story is a great mix of the pains, joy, love and trauma that makes the characters so engaging. I look forward to continuing my journey of the following books as well. Thank you again for sharing this tale and know that it has that timeless element.

King rises, grand smile, wonderful day, Realm of campus smells like Red Tide bay. Strong indications of things gone SHIT, Then Matty informs of Cat Boy hit. Retreat to dorm, strategic for King, John spills too much, more than his liking. Shredded costume, Jon protests too much, Giving his shock seeing Matty’s tush. Not words spoken but in shades of red, Conner lust, worship beyond his head. King knows Coolplums, no hiding his tail, Strategy? @Laura S. Fox do tale!

The Good Ol’ To And Fro

Kinky Kitty meats Power Bottom, Fab-four math, adding to new crew sum. Use more than ruler, never be bored, Poked, jabbed, and spanked, while tied to headboard. Prince embraces the super heros, Gossip rags keep Kitty on his toes. @Laura S. Fox Rusty is bomb, Matty and Rusty become aplumb. Thank you for this spin-off we enjoy, Now write more lines, this tale of our bois. -
Oh to be a fly on the wall watching this…, do flies lockup in climatic organism and fall from their perch?

Coitus interruptus is a high crime, deserving HARD TIME for such transgressions; likewise, no EARLY RELEASE program either!

Oh I think this chapter fit the story perfectly, after all it is THE BEST YEAR.This coming of age senior year tale not only brings forth the characters but does so in a most realistic way; parents that accept the transition of their offspring into adulthood, and those that believe as parents they shall forever have veto over their child’s life decisions. The prom night was the culmination of these friends and acquaintances leaning on each other rather than cowering, hiding behind parents, or rather to have some parents pushing them from the nest…the tough lessons of survival. Cinzilla is out of line and out of control. Observant adults should have already seen this coming and tried to fill the chaperone slots with more respected and therefore persuasive teachers/parents; not a hot head, drag you to the office type oppressor, that holds little respect for the young adults and verse-versa. My opinion…Jackson is a classical senior male, finding it hard to see where he fits in as a transitioning adult, and no confidence to commit to longer term goals that remain unknown; but yes, he has found personal focus and has found a relationship beyond childhood friends and lifetime buddies. While Jackson outwardly showed his lack of adult goals and adult like behavior before, he has shown commitment and determination beyond so many of his peers. Perhaps his prior behavior also made him more accepting of criticism and confident to live a little under his own will and determination; but perhaps now he is more likely to stay within adult boundaries…at least for appearances. In my mind Jackson is good to his core, and fun loving, so not necessarily the best news for those wanting life without trills; but is the converse the epitome of Cinzilla, reflecting the stress of Luke and their family drama? Jackson rules and there is a reason Jackson and Luke or mutually attracted. A significant night, in a significant year, where friends and memories often last a lifetime…good or bad. So hell yeah, I think this is a great chapter that supports the story without distraction.

Ahhh, the three Musketeers pull a playful skit that is far from The Three Stooges but played well in jocular spontaneity; I’m glad the teacher didn’t take it as a challenge of arrogant bluster.

The Problem With Cosplaying

Hmmm 🧐, Rusty’s conundrum of retaining fantasies with Slicky Coolplums while realizing Matty is much more than fantasies; let’s merge the two and enjoy the explosion of an overjoyed Rusty. Everyone put your hands up…let’s twist and shout! -
The First Confrontation
Philippe commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in The First Confrontation
Is this synonymous with putting in a pet (cat) door? Hmmm 🤔, where to stash the cat outfit now that the roomy is brainwashed and present, and Rusty remains transfixed and incapable of connecting the dots back to his favorite FWB ❤️ -

Connor is such a sniveling baby that even the virgin claws of our young cat-boy such bring tears and prospective to his underdeveloped brain and cold soul. May he suffer significant rug burns as the cat-boy drags out the stinky trash (his conniving ass) with a full out pouncing slide! -
Yup, that’s Connor.
