Wise is the decision to trust no one, as the pack has lost a pup…and the information that led to his capture and timing had to have originated within the pack as we presently know of no reporting to the Council of actual fresh turn pups; generic birth and age data wouldn’t allow such precise timing. While the age difference would seem larger at first thought, I remember Kalian being much older than the other students, but still only approaching 18; Kalian was very late to develop any powers, and five years younger than Eon/Talon/Mallex. I believe that put the other students generally around ten, so around 7-9 years younger than Kalian. Likewise, Meep was an undereducated street urchin…thief, and barely old and independent enough to survive; around 5-6yo. We start this book with Kalian 27, and Wyn 12; so Lyme may actually only be 6-8 years older than Wyn, Lyme is likely a teen or no more than 20. Kalian would in most cases not be old enough to be Wyn’s real dad, but needed the established rules of parenthood to guide Wyn away from his individualistic/survival ways…too old as brother, too young to father. 😆

Suman should share some insights into this event; his methods fooled all but Wren. Assuming he is trustworthy and not part of the master plan…double agents are indeed well disguised in their stories and their deeds.

Wow 😮, regardless the nativity in intent, drugging anyone at anytime without their knowledge is a huge breach of trust and majorly illegal; then contributing to death even while not intentional is still manslaughter! There is no such thing as legally dosing a person for personal convenience; that is only allowed when it is necessary, in the interest of safety to that person or others, to prevent life threatening actions of self harm or harm to others. No wonder that AM is screwed up. With mom’s advice it’s like the perfect storm of making of a murderer. Bruce is not the only guilty party here and this news if exposed could jeopardize the case against true evil.

As kids we build immunities but not without the price of a few stomachs viruses 🦠 and various bugs to make us have fevers, feel yucky, and puke 🤮. Not a happy ending, not because of George’s immaturity, but more because of Karl’s imminent departure into danger. George is an ass, no doubt, but we only have a limited perspective. Having my own immature moments in history, I can rejoice that while I hurt my first love terribly, it was not ever so ruthless and stabbing at him personally. I wasn’t ready and able to see where in life I could fit and that made for decisions not truly of and for myself…but what I thought I had to do; it was a big error that gave me, and my love, much different lifes. The good news is that we are still very much friends after a little healing and growth from both of us. There’s much revealed in Paul’s compassionate plea with Richard, it seems Paul has much in common with his cousin…which in turn means Richard and Karl may too have much in common before they ever have their introduction. It’s reassuring that Paul does think so strongly for Karl, but that he also made contact with Richard somewhat begging forgiveness enough that Richard would agree to look after someone he would not so lightly entrust to anyone…it’s a matter of life and death. Which direction will the heart pull? Paul’s relationship with Karl could grow as he follows his progress and development; distance makes the heart grow fonder?? But likewise, Paul would have to improve his relationship with Richard to get such updates. As Karl enjoys the heartfelt hugs and warmth that seem different from his upbringing, his attachment to the Hopkins would seem to be something of a lifetime. No doubt his Danish family loves him, but they seemed to be less affectionate. This familiar bond and common history now with Richard and with Karl should be an interesting dynamic of personal sorts as Karl prepares for war. @LittleCherryBlossom26, I do hope there is a book two in store for us; there is so much left to tell in Karl’s journey in life.

And by being introduced to other Danes Karl will naturally start getting underground news of his country, countrymen, and possibly family.
