She does not use an aid in walking. Her issue is not one of equilibrium but rather tripping. She actually had just left go of the handrail yesterday.
I took her to Charleston to see the maxillofacial specialist at MUSC. He was the one that did the phone consult with the local ER last evening. Oh, and yes, he had a very cute and personable young resident working with him. After reviewing her scans he said surgery is not indicated since the facture is intact. There is no concern that her eye could sink into the socket or damage to the surrounding tissue. It just needs to heal naturally.
As a treat I stopped at our favorite BBQ place, Hog Heaven, and got a pound of pulled pork for take out. I had fresh corn on the cob from the local farmer's market that was meant for last night's dinner. We had pulled pork sliders and fresh corn on the cob. No, we didn't eat the entire pound of pulled pork, leftovers will go into the freezer for another time.
