It is hard for me to believe a writer; whose work I so enjoy, would say such nice things. It means a lot.

121 New Years Eve was one more night to remember. John’s dad retired fairly early, rather than greet the New Year. John and Wylie had decided to stay at the ranch. Conchatta left plenty of snacks. They watched football, a couple of movies, and shot some pool. Alone, the evening settled quietly around them. Just before midnight they turned on the TV to watch the world celebrate. It was Christmas, cold, damp and dreary. Wylie opened his eyes and was instantly awake. John was sleeping facing him, both hands tucked under his cheek. A leg draped across Wylie’s. Wylie smiled as he noticed a little drool hanging at the corner of John’s mouth. He drew his eyes away from John and mentally focused. Something had awakened him. He listened. No disturbing noises? The room was still dark. He knew it was morning, he was well rested, refreshed even. He was warm and close to John.

Ok, so I was looking for a story. "complete" was my goal. LOL! I as hooked as I was on desert dropping. I am going to hate myself every time my email shows no update. Still I must read on and hope you are just waiting for a reivew that begs that you post ALL chapters before I reach the last one now posted. I already like Luke, he is old beyong his years. LOL! The warning came a bit too late. I already had an idea from Enigma that the subject would be dealt with perhaps more explicity. I tried to send a "message", but couldn't access your profile page. The quality is obvious in both stories.

I am proud of me. I resisted a review in some of the chapters that were so good they would have been able to stand on their own as a powerful short story. In a way, I am sorry I didn't, because now I can only relfect upon the story as a whole. I think I understand why I didn't get involved right away in the first couple of chapters. I thought River presumptious. Carer; Extrodanaire. When he explained that words sometimes came out of him, when he didn't know why or how. That solidified his credentials in my mind. I trusted him when it came to "make or break". I considered the possible destinations; the half way house, Silver's childhood home, then Silver's gravesite, David's gravesite. It was only as I read the name inscribed did I realize for certain. And I am usually a good guesser (ruined a lot of movies, that way). I am amazed that a society exists where damaged people like Julia and silver are so valued. The expense involved in indivual care is enormous. In my country folks like Silver would be relagated to a meager subsistance where excessive medication would almost be the greatest expense. As a "non violent" he would most likely be put on the streets, to become simply one more homeless among many. I feel the real measure of a given society is how the disadvantaged are regarded and treated. This society is much more advanced than mine. here it is mostly lip service; meaning, there is talk but not much action. Were it not for the nosey neighbor, I might think the setting an alternate universe. I would like to live there. Sorry if this sounds more like a political statement than a review. You have me hooked on more than one level. more please

It took a couple of chapters to get hooked. Not sure why. Maybe I didn't want to like it. I was intrigued as to why he recognized the scars. Great plot development. Now I am hooked. I had to force myself to stop and offer this reveiw. I like it! The Doctor was a challenge to believe (I would have been more accepting had he offered a personal reason for what is obviously a less than professional decision. That decision had me questioning whether I could accept the rest of the story. It seems the evolving situation puts both these guys at risk.) Obviously the quality of your writing was the deciding factor. I had already accepted the story line and was involved with the protagonist. So maybe I am just whining. Thanks! more please

I remember being in a crowded wardroom scaning and wondering if I would find a kindred spirit. I can identify with George's flashes of paranoia. While he concetrates on his duites, his desires are never completely out of his mind. glance at a nice ass flexing beneath a layer or two of fabric. I always enjoyed "swim call" perhapt too much. Rank was forgotten and play was the order of the day. Gropes and grabs were not uncommon. Never followed up. Just wondered and used those images, later, to full advantage. Ahh, memories. It seems an incredibly long time between postings. More please.

I didn't check to see how many chapters had been added this time. I knew there were more than one. Ok, I am a romantic hidding behind a cynical mask. I wish reviews could offer a rating like in Netflix. FIVE STARS! PLUS! I am almost embarassed by how much I liked this story. Sometimes, I hate it when I am right. I like Ross. Were I he. Those final words would be... FINAL! And as far as retribution. HaH! He only has himself to blame. It is possible that Ross or more likely Sofia had those delivered, knowing Ross would be there.

Nice tie in to "the house always wins" failed to mention it in my last reveiw. Good to hear Michael and JJ are married. I would be only too happy to read more about them..... still think that "John" could show up unexpectedly. Even after accepting the proposal I am holding onto "slut".
