Malik felt like he was floating or maybe flying. There was wind in his face and a delightful sensation of lightness around him. His stomach felt like it was floating, and all of a sudden, he recognized the semi-familiar sensation from an amusement park ride. I’m not flying, I’m fall– Before he could finish the thought and start to panic, he landed on his back, a hard, jarring thump. It knocked the wind out of him, and his entire body sang with the pain of impact.

1. Would you like a regular temperature year round or do you like your seasons? I like 3 out of the 4 seasons. Winter, especially this past one, can go "you know what" to itself. 2. I also watched the first half of Top Gun, which is one of her favorite movies. I said, "There's subtext here, right?" She asked what I meant. I repeated, "Subtext. It's here, isn't it?" She thinks for a moment and then "I mean, yeah all these guys have big egos." 4. Do you own any old paperbacks or hard cover books still? I have a copy of Carrie that is so old, it still had the old order sheets in the back that you would fill out and mail in to have more books shipped to you. 5. Do you ever read them or are you a digital kind of person now? I read paperback or hardback books almost exclusively. Looking at screens makes my eyes tired. 6. What is the last book as on paper, did you read? The Scribe of Sienna. Right now I'm reading Stolen Focus by Johann Hari, which is a nonfiction book.

Yeah, I've heard that the big airports are getting hit hard. One of my patients told me his wife has been stuck in Atlanta for at least another week.

We did a few Shakespeare plays: Romeo and Juliet, Julius Ceasar and Hamlet. Maybe Macbeth but that might have been college. Also The Scarlet Letter and The Crucible. And Wuthering Heights, Beowolf, The Canterbury Tales, Heart of Darkness and 1984 for 12th grade English Lit. Probably more, but that was a long time ago, hard to remember.
