    Chapter 4

Malik didn’t remember much of the walk back. His mind was still reeling from the odd encounter. Seeing Salma again, even though it wasn’t really her, made him miss home more than ever. And while hearing that he wasn’t about to be killed was somewhat of a reassurance (even though he could tell Nyrra really wanted to), neither was being told that he would be stuck here until someone figured out a way to get him back. He knew what he needed to do. He needed to get to the mountains. Someth

    Chapter 2

He fell from high enough to have the wind knocked out of him. But it would be a short read if the fall killed him.

    Chapter 2

    Yes. Every time.
  4. I love it when my dad cooks lamb. He serves it with this great mint and horse radish sauce. We usually eat it a few times a year. None for Easter this year though.

    Chapter 3

Most the research I've done states that you should know some of the language for dealing with government officials or bureaucratic processes, but hopefully I'll improve once I'm around it all the time. I think it'll be a little easier than what Malik is going to have to go through.

    Chapter 3

I plan to move to Europe after I retire, and then I'll have to learn the language of my new home, but that's not for another 15 years or so. I should probably start now though.

    Chapter 3

    Maybe?

    Chapter 3

I enjoy reading about your theories! The future chapters should address some of them. But Malik definitely learns who is an enemy and who will be an ally in the new household. I had fun writing the scene with the priest and briefly going back to Malik's old reality. I appreciate your comments! Thank you for reading! Thank you so much for commenting.

    Chapter 3

Malik is doing the best he knows how. And he has a plan. Only time will tell if it's a good one or not. Thanks for reading and the comments!

    Chapter 3

The scene with the priest, was a lot of fun to write. As for the machines, Malik is very determined to get home at this point. Thank you for reading and commenting.

    Chapter 3

Malik's not in for an easy time, but like you say, it could be much worse. And yes for the language learning process. Over the past few years, I have tried to learn French, Japanese and Portuguese, but always give up in frustration at some point because it takes so long. @Jason Rimbaud will have to comment first on the next forty or so chapters to redeeem himself.

    Chapter 2

This actually sent me into a small research spiral on Albanian language and it was pretty interesting. Thank you!

    Chapter 3

Chapter Three Malik woke up the next morning, feeling groggy. His stomach seemed to have settled and was growling noisily, wanting food. His hands had been re-tied in the night, which was disappointing, but they were tied in the front, instead of behind him, so he tried to look at this as a positive sign. Naivres, beaming, offered him a slice of bread, spread with a dark golden substance that looked like honey and topped with nuts and berries. He took it a little cautious
  14. Congratulations!! Now get back to writing!

    Chapter 2

Interesting tidbit about the language. I've never spoken Albanian in my life. I considered trying to create a new language for Hazardous but that Interest lasted for all of 10 minutes. So I just worked on words here and there. If they are Albanian, it was unintentional. Malik is pretty bull headed in some regards, so he really needed something to snap him out of the mind set that this was somehow semi-normal and would be able to go home. Which would probably be my mindset too, in similar circumstances. The alien race, from the language to their suspicious nature to some more complicated concepts that come up later, was challenging to write, which was partially the point. I wanted to see if I could write relationships that didn't rely heavily on dialogue and ended up just finding a bunch of creative ways to break my own rules instead. Thank you for reading and commenting!

    Chapter 1

Thank you. This was a lot of fun to write and I'm glad to finally be sharing it! And @Thirdly is amazing!
  18. The conversation between these two was really interesting. I think Brandon knows the score while Tyler is still floundering around, trying to figure things out.

    Unknown Origin

Wow. That was an action packed first chapter. From the fire to the trooper to the ER...wow. It was great. I really loved the ER scene, it sounded like it came right out of a medical drama. And I'm so curious about this mysterious boy and what he lost on his way out of the burning car...consider me hooked!
  20. I'm intrigued by the asexual merman librarian myself.

    Chapter 2

Malik's definitely not in a great place right now. Thank you for reading and commenting!

I'll add that to my list of titles.

    Chapter 2

Good observations! Some answers may be forthcoming in future chapters. Thank you for reading and commenting.

    Chapter 2

Yep, that was fun. On further reflection, I realized that I chose the one of longest names for one of my main characters. And one that my auto-correct likes to change to Chalice a lot. The spelling was tricky, but I like how unfamiliar and "alien" the names and the language are. I guess you'll find out next chapter. Thanks for reading and commenting.
  25. Interesting first chapter. I like the sense of anxiety Tyler is going through as he struggles to make sense of the nights events, it feels very authentic. I'm also a little curious about the events that lead to Devon having a marker up his butt too. My high school days of flirting on AOL seem very bland in comparison.
