    I'm visiting my Grandma. Today is my birthday and hers is tomorrow so we usually celebrate together. We're turning 45 and 93 respectively.

    Sat on my couch, reading my new book, with the cats, same as last year. Last time I celebrated was to ring in 2020 and we all know how that went.

    Most of the criticism of my work is either somone not liking the type of story I'm telling (that's fine, go find something you like) or telling me something doesn't read quite right and needs to be changed/rewritten. This is usually from an editor or beta reader and is appreciated. I can't recall anyone criticizing my work because I'm a woman who can't write about gay/bi men. I don't see much of that anywhere, to be honest. Must be sticking to the right corners of the internet.

    One of my gifts (we open on Christmas Eve) has brought people to tears. It had a picture of my sisters dog that she lost back in September so I hope they were the good kind.

    Thank you. She's almost 93 and her heart and kidneys are failing so we're trying to manage our expectations accordingly.

    My plans for Christmas were originally to go up and see my sister, who lives about 4 hours North of us. But my Grandma took a bad turn and is in the hospital. I went down to see her this weekend. She's going to be moved out of ICU to a regular room but can't go home until her breathing improves. So we don't want to leave if things get worse but we just don't know. I've gotten a few gifts but don't even have my tree up yet.
