Once Rhaelce had disappeared, Malik’s first instinct was to go after him, but he had only managed a few steps when a voice brought him up short. “Malik!” He spun and stared at Shuza in surprise. He recognized the voice, but Shuza had never addressed him directly before, only through Chihiro. It felt strange to hear his name coming from his mouth. Shuza shook his head and spoke. “He says not to go after him. Not yet,” Chihiro relayed.

Welcome back. The POV from Rhaelce wasn't a "trick". Maybe it would have been if this was the only time it happened, but we also had his POV multiple times in earlier chapters. I'm a big fan of dual POVs. Also, I assume nothing when it comes to you. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter, except for the nightmare, which I don't think anyone really liked. I appreciate you reading and commenting.

You sure have a way with words...lizard kisses made me grin. Malik and Rhaelce both have a lot of trauma to work through, but it's drawing them together. It's a really nice dynamic to explore. Thank you for reading and commenting.

They have an adventure to prepare for! The sword belongs to their world. Shuza is well traveled and on the road a lot...he needs protection. The second book in the series is coming soon and will really expand the world. I'm very excited about it. Thanks for reading and commenting!

I drank Diet Pepsi growing up but once I was able to buy my own soda, I started to drink Dr. Pepper. I stopped drinking soda entirely when it started to cause issues with my teeth, and I haven't been able to stand it since. It just tastes too syrupy.

There are generally two opinions on this chapter, those that think that Nyrra and Rothik want Malik dead, and those who thinks that Rhaelce is lying his green ass off to get Malik to help him on a vengeance quest. It's interesting to see who lands where. Thanks for reading and commenting!

There's a lot of similarities between Malik and Chihiro. Shuza speaks a little Japanese but mostly his own language, same as Rhaelce. Malik is picking up Rhaelce's language but it's slow going. I doubt Rhaelce has any interst in picking up English, as before now, he never really had anyone else to use it with. So multiple languages with very limited crossover...what could possibly go wrong?
