    Chapter Eleven

Hmm, you really know how to throw a curve ball on the works. Ya Know?!

    Epilog

That sounds like an answer I would give to the two questions!
  3. I wonder what those encrypted files contain. 🤔
  4. Fire onboard. The bridge was gutted. The port side was essentially gutted. The reactors were scrammed. No concern about the cargo... That doesn't ring true. The cargo is suspect in lieu of other causes of the fire.
  5. Interesting start.

    Nightfall

I remember when I first read the trio. I don't remember connecting the dots, probably because I didn't read the stories, in order. This time, when I got to Nightfall, it brought back not just the memories that it did the first time but more, since I read it in order this time. I remember how GIRD scared so many of us. Years later, when they started calling it HIV and then AIDS, I remember a few friends whose hands I held until the end. Friends I held while they cried for all the lost time... Yes, for many of us, we had our chosen family because our born into family rejected us. Now, at 73, it still hurts to remember. It hurts that I've outlived all of my family. Today, I can smile, however. We had time.

    Charlie-Mike

And I didn't think what I said was too far out of line...

    Charlie-Mike

One of which is a multi-dimensional crystal... Implicit in your description suggests that the Big Bang not only generated our universe but all other dimensions. Interesting hypothesis. Considering that the EMP was initiated in the Stonegarden system and reached into the Pacifica system. Yeah, I think it might be noticed! In other news, the subspace EMP went a whole lot further than the 5 light years it was speculated to reach.

    The Last Salvo

The enemy was hit so fast and so hard, that I doubt they got any intel on the human's new capabilities. So any next encounter may be just as good.

    Forward Base

I wonder when Mason is gonna scram the main computer on the Cory?

    Kin

It looks like Sokolsky has part of the enemy numbers problem solved, along with a means to defeat the politicians at their own game! Um, we hope! Now if Mason can defeat the virus in the old destroyer and not attack Thrace, perhaps there is a chance to set things right.

    Revelations

I don't know how they have strung Marian along like this. I think her daughter is as dead as the rest of her family. Meanwhile back on the battlefront... While I like the plan, I have to keep in mind that all such plans go out the window upon contact with the enemy.
  13. @sandrewn, I can barely keep up, but that's mostly 'cause I'm kinda stepping from one chapter to the next!

    Chance

Thanks for clearing that up, James. I looked twice but couldn't find a surname for the Alliance Jeff. Just the Evergreen Jeff - Mason.

    Speed Run

OK, so I was wrong about there being three groups.

    Chance

I'm not sure if the Jeff of the Evergreen planet is the same Jeff of the Alliance Fleet. Assuming arguendo they are different, we now have three groups of enhanced humans. Each group appears to have different agendas, with the Religious group being the worst, since they are to attack the Fleet. That would bring the enemy down on the Alliance and destroy it, along with the religious group!
  17. This makes me wonder what their enhancements are and why they shouldn't all be together...

    Assignments

Agreed, Terry. Something about this smells of rotten fish!

    Sister Sara

I'm sort of remembering this story from years ago. It was never completed, for whatever reason, and I have forgotten much of the plot. I noticed the other day a new chapter had been added. I can see where micro-jumps would be a great advantage to war games. Jump in, do as much damage as possible in a brief encounter, and jump out. Depending upon how long it took to recharge the jump engine(s), a lot of damage could be done in very little time. Several pre-programmed jumps could be made, depending upon if the enemy stayed relatively static.

    Chapter Eight

I can see what Dylan is feeling. Blind rage will allow us to do things we normally wouldn't do... Like stooping to the level of your adversary. I think that this might be what Dylan is now feeling. As for the gun, I don't have a clue, unless this somehow involves whatever Liam knows about Jake.

    Chapter Seven

Hypoglycemic shock is nothing to play around with. It is life-threatening and immediate attention must be given. It is good that Dylan recognized the symptoms and looked for the tell-tale needle tracks to confirm his supposition. I guess we will see what happens in chapter 8. Will Liam get clobbered? Will Jake's secret come out?

    Chapter 2

No need to be sorry. I misled myself! 😳

    Chapter 2

Considering that I had already read the story (when it was a single posted short), I had hoped you had expanded on it. When I read @Summerabbacat comment about it ending... I just had to page back and check it for myself. 😢 Ah well. It is still a good story, expanded or not. 😇
  24. That was utterly brash and callous! In most cases, what Jackson did was unforgivable. The relationship is barely forming and to think you can just bareback without informing your partner... I'm at a loss for words. 😰
  25. Even if they don't get tagged as adults, they might still carry sex offender status. In most areas, that never goes away.
