Luckily, bears can eat just about anything. But you are correct, there are certain plants that are poisonous. Lucky for Pops the hunter wasn't a very good archer!

Everybody is worrying about Rusty. Are we forgetting how Matty may or may not deal with all of this? I'm sure Matty hasn't understood and become comfortable with August being with Rusty, instead of himself. Especially since he was told by Rusty that it was something he had to do by himself. Throughout this episode, no one has explained the relationship between August and Rusty, other than she was a bed partner... And still a good friend. Now, we have Matty attempting to comfort Rusty. Rightly or wrongly, Matty professes his love for Rusty, only to get virtually slapped in the face by Rusty. Is Rusty actually that blind and/or stupid? Then we have the four roommates who are so self-centered and protective of Rusty, that even when they can see what is going on with Rusty and Matty, they won't say a word to Matty. Matty is an outsider and must remain in the dark, yes?

First, Rusty needs to walk away from this pity party!

If you have been following Kandric, you will have known that Dragons can shapeshift. King Wyrem found out!

This is the chapter where the internal household dynamics are exposed to the world. It certainly validates any/every thing Seth has ever said about his Mom and Stacy. I really hope that this episode gets back to CPS (a thought I rarely entertain). That doesn't mean she knows anything about human sexuality. Rather obvious in her case!

Almost makes you wonder if Rovnar had his hands in the vortex. Again!

It took some arm twisting, but I finally talked Roland into sending it up here... Especially as I had talked Kyle into posting Crags here, also!

You will note that this is version 2 of Sands. Why? Because the first version was too friendly, too soft, too fluffy bunny to be a part of Kandric's world. So, with a lot of work and help from his beta reader and his editors, we have a version that is better suited for a group of battle-worn kids who have been flung from the frying pan into the fire. We hope you enjoy this collaboration into The World of Kandric.

Oh, I think conjuring the plunger would be easier...

That was a nice transition from doing things as a biped to that of a quadruped. Devon may have helped him to understand a bit while still in human form but as Mac found out, it was harder when he was actually a wolf. I suspect now that Mac knows, running around as other four-legged animals will be much easier. I also liked how you explained the "size" ability of transitioning. Much more mental work is involved before it becomes second nature to shifting. Wait a minute! How is it I'm first?

Are we sure of what kind of plumber we are speaking of?

I think "past" or "former lover" would have been a better choice of wording. "Love interest" could imply that there was nothing physical between them. That is very much not the case here. Regardless, Matty cannot be faulted for jealous thinking. Worse, for thinking he doesn't really count in Rusty's world. Trust is a finicky animal. Once lost, it can be very difficult to restore.

Yes, it was!

Rusty didn't "push" his mother. It was completely the other way around. And growing up with that... One can only go so far, then one breaks. Rusty's mother has major mental health issues. Still, and all, you can only take so much.

Finally caught up! @Laura S. Fox, you weave a good story. Just when I thought I had things figured out, you go zig when I thought you would zag!

Too true. Yet it is also valid in the context of a corollary to Clark's law.

"Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced." (Gehm's corollary)

Well, perhaps not a religious ceremony. 🤣🤣 Hmm, have you ever played basketball with some friends? Without the ball or the baskets? 👀

It should probably be emphasized that the use of peyote is legal in religious ceremonies by the Native American Church. In ceremonies, use by non-native members of the church is lawful except for those living in Idaho, Utah, and Texas. Bill, your description of the effects of peyote is pretty much spot on. Although it can and does vary from person to person. One of the more common effects is synesthesia: hearing colors and/or seeing sounds. So it appears that the work Devon did with Mac is paying off!

Part Two. Chapter Three.
Al Norris commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Part Two. Chapter Three.
Now add to that, his only friends are actually Dayna's friends. He has none of his own. Kept Man. -

You are the author, so far be it of me to argue with you. However... Your points are well-considered until we get to that last part, above. It's when that stay-at-home dad (or mom) is isolated from all contact and not allowed their own friends, that we get into the category of being kept. -

That was a point I failed to mention in my earlier post. Keeping Kyan isolated shows the utter insecurity of Dyna. I'm really looking at this marriage as a one-sided relationship. Too bad Kyan could not see this. -
Part Two. Chapter Three.

A couple of things here are on my mind. Kyan has been a "kept" man throughout his marriage to Dyna. And his male ego is just now seeing this? Unbelievable! Originally, Perry had told Kyan that the money would only last for about two years. Now, three-plus years on, Kyan finally wonders how broke he might be? Again, unbelievable. Kyan needs a boot to the head! There are still many households in the US that have only one breadwinner. That's what it was before Dyna's death. What the heck would be the difference now? Kyan needs to open his eyes. Perry has been supporting him and the kids for at least a year, if not longer. Deal with it!- 118 comments
