  1. Yeah so that was Thanksgiving. Nice and peaceful. Glad you are still enjoying it Jo Ann.
  2. Well this story takes place from September to December, so all the main holidays are here. Enjoy.
  3. Show me any mother worth her salt that won't go to stand for her child. Tonya was willing to let Rick take the lead till he was about to cut ties with her child. That wasn't going to happen.
  4. With the Wagners, Charlie never has to worry, someone is always going to want his help. Luckily, Charlie takes after Barbara.
  5. Well Charlie has a backbone. This proves it. And now the fun begins.
  6. So Charlie had a naked man in his bed, his nephew showing up battered and bruised, his mother is ticked off, and Scott shows up. Normal day, right?
  7. So Charlie had a naked man in his bed, his nephew showing up battered and bruised, his mother is ticked off, and Scott shows up. Normal day, right?
  8. Jo Ann, as someone who is constantly having "company" I'm sure it is more than them looking for a place to stay. You are a comfort and they all are willing to take that from you. Charlie is the same way. Poor boy just doesn't know the word "NO"
  9. Yeah, time to grease the rails a bit and get the story moving. So glad you are enjoying it.
  10. AT least you realized it. I had people ready to kill me to get them into bed.
  11. I have a habit of setting up roadblocks. Face it, life is never as smooth or as wonderful as it is in the movies. Real life is messy and rarely goes as planned, which is what makes it so special. If you really want something you have to work for it.
  12. Barbara isn't one to stand for crap. Scott is like a bad penny, and keeps showing up no matter how much Charlie might wish otherwise. This is just something else he is going to have to deal with.
  13. Life happens around Charlie, sometimes at a breakneck speed. However, he does form a special relationship with his nephew. The two being so close in age helps.
  14. Ever know someone who can spot the issues and all with anyone else but has huge blinders when it comes to themselves? Charlie does. But not the kind that are detrimental. Just sort of blind to the truth of some things about himself yet. Time will sort it all out.
  15. Did I say this would go smoothly? Read on.
  16. Barbara is based off my mother. She wasn't very hard for me to bring to life. She always seemed to know when either of her children needed something.
  17. Charlie is all heart. However if you want to go forward sometimes you have to break with your past. This is just clearing up the past for Charlie. Now his future is wide open.
  18. I am a firm believer you have to allow down times to a character. Otherwise the ups won't be so impressive. Trust me, Charlie has an interesting ride ahead of him.
  19. Oh nothing goes smoothly in my stories. If I can find a twist or turn, I take it. There were times I thought people would kill me while they waited for the next chapter. You have the advantage and can just keep going.
  20. Jo Ann, Really? You thought I was going for Poitier? Hmm. Nope. Read on and you might figure out who he is based on. Charlie is one of those people who doesn't know his own strengths till he needs them. Just remember the signs of what is to come are laid here.
  21. Well I needed a way to show you Charlie's past. You need the information so when the rest of the characters show up, it isn't such a surprise. And time will tell what happens when he finally faces the man who saved him.
  22. Don't judge Tina too hard. She found someone she liked and thought she could mold him into everything she wanted. Like Charlie she has some growing up to do. Charlie has never really had to make a stand. He has always been happy letting life take him along for the ride. Unfortunately for Charlie, that isn't how life works. Glad you found AH, Jo Ann. I hope you enjoy.
  23. Don't think Scott had much he could do. Glad you are enjoying it.
  24. Charlie needed time to grow into himself.
  25. Very beautiful Jo Ann. Life lessons are best when you don't know they are coming, and delivered by someone who knows the best way to teach them. Your father left you a powerful memory and showed you the best way he could that his life was one filled with love. Be grateful for such a wonderful memory.
