    Chapter 1

Kitt, It was the advantage of having the whole story complete before posting. The beta and editor could see the whole story at one time and make the suggestions to fill in gaps, correct syntax, and make the story better. I am eternally grateful to both of them. Hopefully, everyone will enjoy it.

Yeah, life can sometimes just run in stretches like that. There are a few things that are surprises and I hope you will enjoy my story.

    Chapter 1

No Avid you will find out about Peter. He is the one that makes Frank decide to live like a monk.
  5. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I finally can present to you my new story, Last Christmas. This little bundle of joy has been in the works since November. Unlike other stories I have here, I pushed and prodded, and then finally decided this sucker wasn't going up till it was totally written. This time there will be no long gaps or people wondering if I will ever get back to it. The story can be found here - https://www.gayauthors.org/story/comicfan/lastchristmas/1 Meet Frank. He was healthy, sexy and at the top of his game, until last year. In months he lost both parents and then his brother to things beyond his control. Then his sister-in-law had to move with his niece and nephew in order to make ends meet. Frank dealt with all the loss and changes stoically, til his boyfriend walked out on him too just before Christmas. Frank has remade his life and is starting all over and figures this time he will just stay single. However, life never goes exactly as planned. Into his new shop comes Chris and things begin to change immediately for him. Will this be a new romance or a repeat of last Christmas?

    Chapter 1

Last Christmas Frank pulled his hat down low over his ears, slipped on his gloves, and made his way out into the cold autumn wind. The wind had picked up the leaves and swirled them into flowing masses of slick brown, orange, and red waves that eventually began to stick together as the freezing November rain came pouring down. He moved slowly, his limp barely visible as he climbed into his battered old truck and started the engine. He sat, letting the truck engine warm up before he turned the
  7. The last year was a disaster for Frank. He lost both his parents and then his brother. His sister-in-law had to move to keep the kids and herself functioning. To top it off Frank had an accident and while he healed he will never be the same again. A year later, he no longer works as a personal trainer but owns his own shop where he sells ceramic and hand carved items. Then out of nowhere, Chris shows up. What changes will Chris bring and will it be a repeat of last Christmas?
  8. Oh god - Big Bang Theory - Bazinga!
  9. Thank you Mann. Just figured it was my turn to get some prompts out there. So far so good. Been a prompt a week. lol
  10. Like any other writer I find I am often reworking what I wrote, trying hard to get out of the constant mistakes, and trying hard not to sound like an idiot, even though I have a degree. I am sure that I am not the only one to fall into the habit of just using very to define a word rather than going that extra step so you don't end up seeing it over and over again. However, I seen a page that just made me stop. I like it and now keep it bookmarked. Figured I had to share so it could be passed along to another. http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1xuHX5/:X.l2v0Mz:Ph@Eq4fa/writerswrite.co.za/45-ways-to-avoid-using-the-word-very/
  11. Okay just so people don't think I've lost it. The beta finished, I did major overhauls and it is now with the editor. Hopefully Chapter 1 begins to post sometime next week. Thanks for the patience.
  12. Cassie, with the nickname Comicfan you couldn't come to me about Geekdoms? LOL. Star Trek, Star Wars, Anime, and Comicbooks. I've done all of them, been to conventions for all, and seen stuff I still don't know how to classify. DC has once again redone its comic world starting all over with 52. Marvel has multiple versions of their characters running around as well. Cosplay is alive and well, and I have friends who are busy making costumes for their next chance to do so. Star Wars just goes on and on. Star Trek - Trekkers or Trekkies depending on who they are - will fight to the death defending their captain - Kirk (old or new), Picard, Janeway, Sisko, and hell even that abomination version Archer. Anime is a world unto itself. Of course there is also the gaming world with a whole set of nerds.
  13. Well I taught in a Catholic school and while not married have seen this sort of thing. It wasn't all that hard to create. Sometimes life just makes it easy to pull these sort of tales out. Besides, I don't like to be like anyone else with a story.
  14. Thanks Kitt. I know usually the stories focus on the problems or the joys, but sometimes it is the lulls between such that mean so much.
  15. “I’ll give him honey, it is only a few.” Peter wiped off his brow as he removed yet another loaf of bread from the oven. The kitchen looked like a bomb had gone off. He had been baking nearly non-stop for the past few hours. There were four loaves of banana chocolate chip bread, three loaves cranberry cinnamon bread, and he had just removed three loaves of lemon blueberry bread. He was exhausted and hot. Peter turned the oven off and waited for the bread to cool enough to move it onto a coolin
  16. That was really sweet. I liked how you handled the prompt for this.
  17. Thank you. Sometimes you just need a slice of life. No big issues or problems. I like to relax in my writing of the prompts.
  18. “I think I finally have the answer.” Tony stood in the doorway biting on the eraser of his pencil. Tom looked up from the bed and smiled. “Okay, so what is the answer?” Tony padded across the floor and put his homework down before his dad. “I think it is five.” Tom patted the bed and began to look over the long math problem. The answer was six but he needed to see where Tony had gone astray if he was going to help him. “Alright let me check it over.” Tony curled up alongside his dad and w
  19. Hmm. Sexy. Okay, I'm hooked. Where is the rest of it?
  20. Ron, I wish you luck. Writing sometimes seems to be a breeze and at other times the words themselves fight me every step of the way. There are times I find barely a mistake, and others I wonder if a four year old sat in front of the computer and pounded out the crap I find, even though I know I am the only one on my computer. I think all any writer can do is write, rewrite, and rewrite again. Sometimes it gets easier, but not always. Trust me there is a world of difference between writing fiction where everything must come from your own imagination and writing a piece that is researched and you just have to make it fit together. (Former English Major and writer of countless papers.)

Looks good Billy. Glad I could be of help.

    The Devil's Deal

Wow. My choice of demons, huh. lol. Seems you have an interesting start here Kitt. Would love to see where you plan to take it.
  23. Well the ideas for the prompts are always story ideas for myself first. Yeah, I corrected the story by putting up the corrected. I hate it when I accidentally put up the wrong one. I write a story, leave the original alone, copy it so I can correct it. The I usually go back and delete the original once I know I have it the way I want it. Goofed it this time. Oh well. So is life.
  24. And like I said in the interview Mann, the story is complete.
  25. I accidentally posted the first draft. I had to repost so that I had the second go over and fixed the errors. Sorry about that Ron. People shouldn't have those issues after this.
