  7. I know I can't be the only one. I woke up this morning with a song stuck in my head. I wouldn't mind if it was a happy or upbeat one' but no. I got up and the song "Smile" is running through my head. Usually when this happens the song indicates what sort of day I am in for. Wonder what sort of heartbreak I am in for? For those who don't know it, one of my favorites sings it here
  8. For a change I thought I would start this one. Happy Birthday! Hope your day is a great one Myr.

    Life isn't easy

My therapist has twenty years on me, and is married with grandchildren. So all I get out of therapy is a little electro stim to my back, some hot compresses, and a lot of stretching. No eye candy, and nothing to make distract me from what has to be done. I don't know if that is good or bad. lol
  10. Been on flash back and this song has stuck with me and I am listening to it again.
  11. Congrats Andy. Naturally you know this means you have a lot of writing to do now. Good Luck and Don't mess it up!
  12. Well it is Friday again, looks around, and I seem to be able to steal the spotlight for the moment. Since I managed to slip in again I get to pick what is featured as well as introduce this week's prompts. So let me see if I can entice anyone with this week's offerings. Prompt 230 – Creative Tag – First Line “I never said this wasn’t going to hurt.” Prompt 231 – Creative Tag – List of Words Use the following words in a story: silk tie, dog toy, chain, bubble bath, and leather gloves. I hope someone finds a little inspiration in one of them and decides to show us their take on it. Now two weeks ago, yes we had to deal with that nasty business last week, I managed to find some takers for both of the prompts. However James Savik really took off with prompt 229, which was : You entered into a contest and have won the chance to spend the day with your favorite star. Who is it and what do you do? And here is just a snippet of his story so far. James has a lot more of the story up. Want to read it? Of course you do! Read and leave him a comment here on the prompt page http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/36938-prompt-229-creative/ Of course you might be interested to know someone also did Prompt 228 so go read that too. http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/36937-prompt-228-creative/ Hopefully next week we might get a chance to read something new from you. Enjoy your weekend everyone.
  13. I am a beta not an editor. I will help an author with their story, suggest changes when something doesn't make sense, beg for more detail when I feel it is left out, and point things out to whoever I beta for. However, the one thing I remind them completely is this is their story. If they don't like something I suggest they are free to totally ignore it. I will also tell them they need an editor. I will help with the story, but I don't do spelling or edits. Those are not my forte.
  14. I have begun physical therapy. I've only had two sessions so not looking to go dancing or run a marathon. I realize this isn't going to heal overnight and I have to be patient. Just wish that while one part of my life was out of kilter the rest would remain on course. Just feeling really old and alone lately. Life marches on and rather than be run over, I find a way to keep on going. I offer this one piece of advice to those who might read it. Be careful what you say. You never know what weight your words have. Remember a simple greeting and wishing someone a good day can go a long way to improving someone's day. A rude comment or insulting remark, even made off the cuff, can cut someone as easily as a knife can. Words have power and they can go a long way toward healing or hurting someone. Think carefully before you speak.
  15. God in the machine, making the miracle happen. Yeah I think we have all been tempted at times, but we know as readers we hate those things so sometimes the best we can do is massive rewrites. Not every clue is a true one, not every problem will get an answer. While most of like to tie things up in a neat bow life isn't always like that and you need to remember that when you write. Good luck

    Chapter 1

Shh. I'm trying hard to keep my prompts from spreading out to full stories. I'm in the process of working on two of them now. One them was Seeon. Geez. Let a prompt stay as it is.
  17. Just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday Mark. Enjoy.

    Remembering

Time has a way of moving on and not always do we notice. Unfortunately we seem to mark events by the good or bad events in our lives. Overall I guess I cannot complain. I have events that are great milestones. Graduating high school, then college. Going for my Masters degree (okay it is just the damn thesis I need to finish). The birth of my godson. The marriage of my brother. The marriages of so many friends. However these are offset by the passing of some important people as well. The passing of my grandmother still is one that I remember well. She was the first person I knew and loved to die. It leaves a mark on your heart you can't forget. Of course that does not compare to the one left by my mother's passing four years ago. The pain is there though not as sharp. Little things bring her to mind, but at least now it makes me smile. So sorry if I am a bit off. My friends have kept me up and I am grateful. Again it might be a day late but Happy Mother's Day to all of those special women who work so tirelessly to improve the lives of their children.
  21. damn that sounds familiar. Now where did I read that? walks off muttering to himself and looking toward his bookshelves ....
  22. Smurfs, cookbooks, books, and postcards. Same question.
