  1. Caffled we are just glad to have you. Enjoy the site. HI Wanda. Don't worry about running your mouth. We have a few who open mouth and insert foot. Glad to have you.
  2. Wishing you a Happy Birthday, Mike. I'd say stay out of trouble but I don't think that is possible. May your Birthday wishes come true.
  3. Sorry this one has been stuck in my head for two days now. Not exactly complaining. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmtxH7IeCq8
  4. No the show isn't done this season yet. I have had a ball. Poor Beauty. That story is so much worse than the original. As for Regina I really want her to end as the wicked queen did in the original tale. Dancing in silver shoes on hot coals till she dies. Viscous sucker ain't I!
  5. As usual I'm late but hope your day was a great one Curti. Happy Belated. May all your wishes come true!
  6. Alright, I know some people think that as a Promising Writer I ignore what is happening else where. I don't. I love to read which is how I have ended up working with as many different writers as I do. I think if you check it out, you will find it is that way with most of the authors, Hosted, Promising, or otherwise. We enjoy writing and we enjoy reading. (I'll admit I would like to know where both Andy and Nephy find the time for all their reading and reviewing. I am way behind their curve. ) Any way for anyone who takes the time to read my blog, and thank you for doing so, I'd like to suggest four authors I am presently working with. If you haven't read their stuff please take a minute and do so. First up is Mark. I've been working as his beta the longest. His story is dark, bad, and bondage laden. He takes you down the dark trails of Masters and slaves. It isn't a light read but a dark look at the steamy side of an earlier English life. His story is called The Legacy. Here is the link to it. http://www.gayauthor...ark92/thelegacy Next up is Billy. I came to Billy's story after the story had begun. I liked what I was reading but noticed one or two things that I could do to help him. He was willing to listen to my suggestions and suddenly I had a second person to beta for. Again his work is vastly different from my own. He looks at the awkward growing up ages of his character Andy. From intolerance to religion, nothing is off topic and yet he has a gentle way of taking anyone along for ride with him. The story is still building up a good head of steam so if you get the chance read it. The link is below for that as well. Billy's story is called Trials and Tribulations. http://www.gayauthor...andtribulations Daniel89 I found looking for help as he advertised in the thread. Something about the honesty of his plight drew me. Daniel is not a native English speaker, English being his second language. However his story was something I hadn't read before. What he really needed was someone to tweak his work so it didn't sound stilted when going from one language into another. The poor boy got stuck with an American instead of an Englishman so have a heart if something is off. His story of two men who meet one frozen winter day shows all the heartbreak and tenderness of a new romance. His background deals with horses and that world isn't one I knew so I found the whole thing very special. Take a shot and give it read and comment. His story is entitled Where Horses Dance. http://www.gayauthor...herehorsesdance Finally there is Midnight Man. The poor guy had barely joined when I met him in chat one night. Amazing how some ribbing and kidding around will get a guy to open up. He had this story he was working on. He had the first chapter done and I asked to read it. Well he is two chapters into it now. Again his work is completely different from the rest. He deals with a special breed of people stuck in their afterlife called Harbingers. To say more would deprive you of a great read. Considering again that this is his first piece here I consider myself lucky get to help him. Give it a shot if you like something quirky and dark. Midnight Man's tale is called Harbinger. http://www.gayauthor...htman/Harbinger So those are the writers I'm working with. Each and every one of them talented and original in their own way. I am grateful to have the chance to work with all of them. Now those are wildly different stories worth taking a moment to read. But, hey I'm always looking for something else worth sitting down and devouring. So if you have any suggestions feel free to leave them. In the mean time all I can say is I wanted to spotlight my boys so I am. Give them some love by reading their work, leaving a comment, and letting them know if you enjoyed their tales. I think you will. Wayne
  7. Billy, I like how this continues to have new layers and wrinkles being added. Things flow nicely from one area to another. You really are doing a great job with this. I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next.
  8. WL if we need someone coming out of a cake we better find you someone. I'd age you even more if I did it. lol. People still have time so once we have dates I can bother people down that way to figure out things for the group of us to do (Hello ANDY?!?! ) But in the mean time thank you all for voting so we are narrowing it down.
  9. Always happy to welcome someone new to the fold.

    Chapter 1

I see you took my suggestions and altered a few things. Much easier to get through, though I still think Moon is an ass. Still can't wait to find out the rest of his story. Should make for an interesting read.

    Valentine's Day

Billy, I'm single so I grin and bear it. Cia - Sounds like no matter what he was going to love it. Doubt your fish eye is that bad. Glad you and Stu both had a great day. As for the candy, well Stu just got to keep his boyish figure is all. KC- Your daughter is growing up and that is just part and parcel. Guess if you want to put it off you would have had to build an ivory tower, but I have a feeling you and hubby did a good job so no worries.
  13. Thanks Anyta and Andy. Time will tell. I'm free and clear but hoping to see when will be best for the most people
  14. I hope that you all had a great Valentine's Day. If you were single, may your day have been a good one none the less. Enjoy.

    Chapter 4

Thanks Billy. We are getting there. Glad you are still with me.
  17. Alright I have my own two cents to add to this. I was impressed that they decided to honor Glenn and that he was there for it. It was painful last year watching him in an interview and realizing how much he has already lost. To see he was able to get through the song and that people still remember him fondly was a nice touch. The Beach Boys - Who doesn't like seeing and hearing those songs. Just figured if they were going to do a tribute to them I was halfway expecting Wilson Phillips to be there. (Sorry, can't help it.) However I did enjoy that whole section. Whitney was 6 years older than I am. I'm sorry that was too young to die for any reason, although many suspect it is tied in one way or another to either present or past drug use. I think Jennifer Hudson did a beautiful job. I'm sure Whitney would have enjoyed it. Tony Bennet is now the oldest Grammy Winner. I find it funny how both Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennet both did Duet albums with some of the newest and biggest and helped to reach new audiences. However, Tony I find is more cagey and seems to bring out something special in the artists he has chosen to work with. Adele - To say that I am happy that her voice has been saved is understatement. That was her first performance since the throat surgery and I still find her incredible to listen to. I've heard people say she can't sing and isn't talented but everyone seems to be redoing her first two albums over. She reminds me of Lulu and others of the time period. There is no airs about her, she is just a powerhouse who doesn't need a bunch of instruments and mixes to sound good. Give her a piano player and mic, then turn her loose. Anyway that is my two cents. PS - Sir Paul just continues to surprise me with his ability. While he has always had his background in the Beatles to fall back on, he built Wings, then his solo career, and still continues on to make new and exciting music that has other artists waiting to work him. I can't wait to see what he and Elton John have planned musically for Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee this year. That show should rock.

    Chapter 4

Aww. Sorry it didn't grab you Dad. Hopefully I'll redeem myself next chapter.
  19. Wow. Been away for a mini vacation and am finally back. One of the reasons I have always loved getting on this site was the fact most people are respectful. I say most because I don't care where you go there are going to be a few who feel everyone is entitled to their opinion. First off, I know I'm old. I came from the age of, if you don't have something nice to say, shut up and keep it to yourself. For me that means if I can't say something nice about something someone has written I just don't say anything on the review. That doesn't mean if I find an error I shut up. I just send them a message telling that I am enjoying their story, but there was this problem that they might want to fix. That way I feel I've helped them without embarrassing them. However, I came back today and found one thread that was getting a bit nasty, and one friend who seems upset by something said to him. What ever happened to common respect? I am not saying lie if you feel something is horrible but do you have to attack someone. I am hoping not to lose a friend from the site. I just think some people need to get off their high horse and remember they are human too. If someone is doing well, wish them that. If they are in pain, does it hurt to listen? Sorry. Oh for those who watched the Grammy Awards - Didn't Adele do a great job? I am so happy that she still has her voice.
  20. Um, there are a few about the cute awkward geek even here on this site. Sometimes they even get the studly football player.
  21. By the time I got back to Jenny’s, she and her family had already eaten dinner. The boys had cooked macaroni and cheese with hot dogs, but Jenny managed to save me some. “So, did you have any luck finding a job?” Jenny asked as I placed my plate into the microwave. I looked at her and sighed. “What do you think?” “Aww, sorry Jo.” She walked over and rubbed my arm. “You’ll do better tomorrow.” “No, doofus,” I said breaking into a
  22. Gee, held at gun point. Got to remember to use handcuffs instead. Glad you liked Charlie. There are lots of other stories on the site to enjoy, even a few more by me.
  23. Well you stayed with me for 30 chapters. With only one to go hopefully you will be content with the conclusion.
  24. Would I be that cruel with only three chapters left? Hmm. Then again I might be.
  25. Well if you look, I have a whole collection of Fairy Tales I've rewritten so I appreciate Once Upon A Time. I've seen Grimm but some reason it just doesn't catch me in the same way.
