  1. Hi Traveler. We are an odd bunch but for the most part harmless. Just be careful who you say, "bite me" to cause they just might. Hope you enjoy yourself. Wayne

    Devil's Wager

Thanks Dad. I try never to do the expected. It makes for a more interesting read.
  3. Going through school I was on the debate team, the school newspaper, drama club, and was in the honor classes. I volunteered in the writing lab to help people use the computer. Then ended up running a restaurant for ten years. Then college where I was the Valedictorian, was part of the drama club, the writing club, was English Honor Student, Speech Honor Student, and part of the multicultural club. I hung out with people from all over in every area and just had fun. and that was between 27-30. Today I hang with friends from college years and writing all.
  4. I doubt anyone would consider that a win. Now instead of writer having the opportunity to win, everyone ends up losing. Competitions need to realize that more than one area of their reading public can be served. Instead of limiting it to one group, they will find an entirely new reading public to sell and cater too. Where is the problem in that?
  5. If the Hunger Games is half as good as the books I'll be content. As long as it isn't another Eragon disaster. Another one I'm waiting for is the Avengers movie.
  6. Yeah 478 now. So getting there. A whole 22 more.
  7. I'm glad any of them work but would people please pick one so we can begin to narrow this down for everyone. lol. You can only vote for one.
  8. Poor Lugh. That is because you rework your story twelve ways to Sunday till it sparkles like a jewel and people only see the final product. The story was wonderful, everyone loved the twist you gave it, and now you just set a new bar for yourself that you have to keep meeting.
  9. Most of us go back and forth between the two sites Joe.
  10. Any shade of blue or green.
  11. I find it amazing that a hundred years later they are still updating the knowledge about this disaster. My father just got another book on the Titanic with copies of menus, music, and other things rescued from the wreck. Still fascinating after all these years.
  12. Bill, are you saying you're a zombie?
  13. Alright, I admit it, I have a thing for Fairy Tales. I happen to like Once Upon A Time. I love how you are slowly introduced to the various characters and find out their histories. None are ever like what you are use to. Cinderella doesn't have a fairy godmother, she has Rumpelstiltskin and wicked bargain. Snow White and Prince Charming are torn apart. Just sort of wondering if I am the only one hooked on this show.
  14. I'm not ashamed to admit I like Cia's writing. Hell, I put her collection of prompts up for consideration. I like that her stories, whether prompts or full blown stories because they never go as you expect. She has more fun putting her characters through hell, but you come to expect it and enjoy it with her. She never takes the easy road and even if you suspect she has a pat character that you have read a dozen times before, beware she will introduce new wrinkles that you have never seen before. Whether it is her story, Figuring it Out dealing with the hardships of someone in a wheelchair, or Married to the Enemy showing how one given in marriage does more than just sow peace. She gives you a glimpse of humanity, humility, and forces you to go on the journey with the characters so your perceptions change as the those of her characters do. Who could ask for more?
  15. You will all have to forgive me. I am always late checking this thread. Welcome to the new guys, those just getting around to saying hi, and anyone else I missed. If you have questions feel free to say hi and ask. If I can't answer them you can be sure I will point you to someone who can.
  16. Um, well I am well over 2,000 posts but no idea what mine should be.
  17. Tomas asked Sam to elope. HARSH
  18. Nah. In too many respects I think the internet fosters a false sense of security to try dating on. I've made friends all around the world but no one I would put my trust into until I was face to face with them. What for you is a sign that the date you went on was a good one?
  19. Wouldn't that depend on the secret?
  20. We can trade the tickets in for the cash later but you are staying for the whole weekend. Have you ever used handcuffs?
  21. Are all brains of the same capacity?
  22. Okay the voting is now open. The link to the thread for the dates is below here. Lets see what is most convenient for people. https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/34073-east-coast-dc-meet-up-dates-please-vote/
  23. If he is a zombie will he find the brains he needs to eat in this group?
