  1. Competition? No, they're giving Hallmark a competitive edge with a significant portion of American consumers. Honestly I think only the extreme religious whackjobs, the same ones capable of even thinking of this type of boycott, would buy into it. 99% of Hallmark products do not support the mythical "gay agenda" and probably that much of the population would never notice the gay wedding cards. Believe me I've looked for them in Hallmark sections and have yet to find them in a retail outlet of any kind.
  2. Well then we can agree to disagree. I've befores and afters. Straight looks nice, curly has looked much better and much more classy/cute on everyone I know who straightens their hair. When I see women who have obviously straightened their hair (and it's always sickeningly obvious), it seems (in my opinion) that the process of straightening their hair has taken away a few thousand brain cells and made them MUCH more easy. Repeated straightenings seems to compound this.
  3. I don't understand the point in straightening your hair... as long as you don't have pubes on your head, it's fine!
  4. Cute b!tch! OH come on! Somebody had to say it. lol

I saw this film a while back with my sister and her college friend and there was one striking element in it that we all noticed. The arguments made by the religious right 30 years ago against gay workers' rights are the same exact arguments being made by them now against marriage equality. In fact my sisters friend brought up ad she said in reference to prop 8. It said: End slavery - Check Women's voting rights - Check Desegregation - Check Marriage equality - ... You'd think we'd get it by now...
  6. lol I may or may not change it to Robbie.
  7. I tequila'd an Eric once... note to self -- never again!

  9. I don't even know how you change your name lol.
  10. No one asked you! lol
  11. Is my height really that striking?? Yes, I just got home a couple of hours ago from DC.
  12. haha Yeah that part had me cracking up too!
  13. My sister just linked me to this article: http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/stlog/200...riage_cards.php Oh noes! The KKK is pissed off! Honestly It's a good thing that the KKK is doing this. 99% of Americans dread being associated with the KKK, so now all of a sudden the bigots have something in common with the KKK. Seems to me like we'll have a step towards equality as the bigots will make less and less noise!
  14. Interesting... the rental agency had to have paid full price for it. $28k minimum for the GT if they're good at haggling. I've driven the GT before. At the 2008 Carlisle All-GM Nationals, a local dealer had a number of new cars there for test driving, including G8 in V6 and V8 trim, as well as a fuel-cell Equinox. You had to have someone in the car with you and had to pass a breathelyzer test. BUT they let nail the accelerator on the first leg of the test-drive track. It was uphill, but when I did it in the V8 GT, it rocketed its way to the top of the hill and had no trouble stopping. I didn't wanna get out when the drive was over lol. I wanted to tear ass across the grassy fields in fairground. haha The V6 was nice too, but not nearly as powerful as the V8 powered GT. Judging by the fact that the G8 GT is barely slower than the Dodge Charger STR-8, I would fully believe anyone who told me the GXP trim is like a four-door Corvette -- and I've driven a C5 at nearly 120 MPH.
  15. Are you sure about that? I think you rented a newer Grand Prix. GM is trying to keep the resale value of the G8 up by not selling it fleets of any kind, which includes corporate fleets, public fleets, and rental fleets. It is also physically impossible for them sell this car to fleets. They only sell 1500-2000 per month because they build so few, making it a niche car. You can easily have that same reaction from any level of 7th generation (2004-2008) Grand Prix, especially GT, GTP, Special Edition, and GXP. You better get working on that job then. Back when Rick Wagoner (CEO - GM) and the other CEOs of the Big Three went to Washington to beg for financial assistance, part of GMs cut-back plan was to either sell off or kill Saturn. Right now, Saturn sells fewer cars per month than Oldsmobile did when GM killed that brand in 2003. Eric: No one asked you!
  16. I used to drive a Deep Sapphire Blue Pearl 2001 Dodge Intrepid ES, loaded with leather seating, CD changer, moonroof, uplevel engine, polished exhaust tip, aluminum wheels, foglights, and an Overhead Travel Information System which display compass heading, outside temperature, average MPG, instant MPG, and contained a 3-button homelink (garage door openers). I loved that car to death and hated myself for wrecking it one fine April morning in 2005. I had a choice between two cars for my next car (dad buys em cheap from the company he works for, they're former salesmans cars) -- 2003 Ford Taurus, or 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. Since I didn't want to be stranded on the side of the road, I chose the Pontiac without hesitation. It's a base model, color is Ivory (off-white), no options at all. In the 3.5 years and 45,000 miles that I've had it, I replaced the entire audio system with that of an enthusiast-grade audio system (that thing that goes bump in the night is just me coming home from somewhere hehe). The stock headlights are crap, so they were replaced with HID bulbs, and soon will be replaced with a projector system that you see in many luxury cars and now new cars. The cloth seating was replaced with leather. The steel wheels were replaced with 18" alloy wheels. The exhaust and intake were both modified for more power, and now make the car more aggressive. The car was rear-ended the day before thanksgiving in 2008 so now I am on the hunt for a new bumper while the current bumper looks like ass. What car do I want? 2010 Pontiac G8 GT -- any color, with leather and a sunroof. 2010 Chevrolet Camaro -- any engine, with leather.
  17. Hey now I'm as "over the hill" as you are! BETCH!
  18. Leave it to the Echidna to blab to the whole forum how old I'm getting... grrr where's my walker... lol thanks guys. Sure feels like a birthday week with all the stuff that has arrived for me in the last few days -- new laptop, new MP3 player, new headlights, new hard drive... the computer was a xmas/birthday present and the rest I bought for myself (car needed the headlights) lol.
  19. Chemistry? WHERE?! RUN FOR YOU LIVES!!!!! *is a Physics major who is very happy Chem ended the summer after his 1st year hehe*
  20. I'm going with the rising beach theory, though if I were on that beach I think I would prefer a large wave hitting me. Were it a tidal wave, the wave would be heading away from the island, following the shockwaves of the shaking earth. The reason I believe the rising beach theory is the pool of magma is rising. The reason I prefer the wave is because it sounds like what happened to Mt. St. Helens could happen here.
  21. w00t I'm on my way out the door for a little fun in the Poconos and CJ posts the new chapter right on time! hehe saved it and will read it at the cabin.
  22. Um, not many. lol
  23. Well, I've yet to have a need for rebooting XP x64, and I haven't had any lock up issues since ME (almost 6 years now). It's been so long since I've seen anything even remotely related to BSOD that I don't remember what it looks like... 2000 never gave me a problem and the only reason I switched to XP x64 is because I upgraded to 4 GB of ram -- otherwise I would still be using it. M$ has a lot of issues to correct and I sincerely doubt all of them will be resolved with 7. Even if they were, there will likely be a slew of new problems. Given that, they're not exactly the OS devil that they were in the days of ME the first edition of 98. I think their biggest problem is they're several years behind Linux distro's and crApple, but it looks like they're catching up, slowly but surely. I just downloaded 7 and will install it on my old laptop once the bigger hard drive for my new laptop comes in and I can make the switch to the new one. We'll see how it goes.
  24. Ditto on first time viewer.
