  1. Oh Felicia... poor, naive, Felicia... I think Felicia's problem is she feels threatened by someone who is superior to her being in her midst and altering her plans. She keeps on setting him up to fail so she can have her throne back and be rid of him on her team. What she fails to realize is that he has been a tactician for probably longer than she's been alive and is no stranger to her game. The US military trains commandos like she trains her men, but in much tougher situations. I think by the end of this drill one of two things will happen... she'll either realize that she is outclassed and relent on allowing the general to formulate some of the planning, or she'll snap and take some drastic measures. Judging by how she has acted thus far, I would say it's the latter. Her parents must be so proud... I really and truly think that if this mission fails, it will be because of Felicia.
  2. We tried but the school won't budge on it.
  3. I would love to but I would have no place to stay and my semester conveniently (or inconveniently) starts on the 20th. Hotels in and around the area are very expensive... I got lucky in September when I booked a room in MD with a 40% discount, and it was a very nice room.
  4. Among other things. Honestly it sounded to me like Craig was the bartender, since Keith then immediately started thinking of other friends to serve soft drinks, regardless of their "hotness". It sounds to me like Keith is too loyal to cheat, but there is the off chance that Craig is an ex.
  5. I hate to say it but many times these demons believe that they are working for God by doing what they do. Sometimes I think they are sincere in making that claim (certainly doesn't mean their actions are anywhere close to forgivable) but 9 times out of 10 they are doing it because they believe their government or someone elses government has done them wrong. John and I watched a Bollywood (Indian version of Hollywood) thriller called "A Wednesday" a little over two weeks ago together and it was very well done and new. As it starts, you assume the "terrorist bomber" is simply holding the city ransom to free known terrorists. At the end, you discover that he actually picked their names out of a hat and made a huge bluff so the government would unknowingly put the terrorists, after stating they are proud of their misdeeds, into a position where he could kill them in the same way they killed his fellow citizens. He called himself a "stupid common man" who was afraid to ride the train and the bus every day and whose wife called him every two hours to be sure he was still alive. The events in the film were his way to show the terrorist organizations that the innocent civilians of the worlds nations would not always cower while the bastards called "freedom fighters" killed them for some cause or for some God. It was VERY well done and gave a VERY powerful message. Oh, and the city where the film was based? Mumbai.
  6. I just got an e-mail from HRC about their 2009 LGBT buyers guide. http://www.hrc.org/buyersguide2009/hrc_buyersguide_09.pdf I glanced through it and noticed that the vast majority of places I shop and products I buy are in the green, and some of them are even corporate partners with HRC. There are a few things in the red for me. I do all my DIY maintenance stuff at AutoZone, which is in the red at 25 points. I also have Duralast parts on my car, which is a subsidiary of AutoZone and is also red. Needless to say, once those parts wear out I'm going elsewhere, and I'm buying from other parts stores (there is a NAPA in town, and an Advance Auto Parts 30 minutes away... well worth the drive). I'll miss the cute guy who is now a manager there who helped me order the right sports air filter for my car, but until AutoZone scores better, forget about it. What was also distressing is my employer, Kohl's, is in the red with a question mark as their score (meaning they have not responded despite repeated attempts by HRC). I can't imagine them having a bad score though. There are a couple of LGBT workers at my store in particular and one of them was an assistant manager who was openly gay. I don't know where he is now but a lot of people loved him while he was there. The only reason I have not come out there is because the rumor mill is strong and lively there, and I don't want to be a victim of it anymore than I already was (a lot of people thought I was dating a girl who used to work there is my best friend who I came out to recently).
  7. I could have used those "safe travels" wishes this afternoon... now my car is hurting. lol
  8. All I know is that the IT business is getting hit hard by the economy... friend of mine on another forum lost his job a month ago and someone else on there said his boss was frantically looking for new IT personnel, but that's in Ontario.
  9. I feel like some should be obvious but I got 6 in 7 minutes and gave up.
  10. His is black with orange horns and its name is Tickles, the sinister ducky.
  11. I actually do say 'meh' a lot. It means "Whatever," "I don't care," etc. etc.
  12. That doesn't help. lol
  13. I did? Don't make me mail you anthrax. Because we're the nice cross-roads between non-dorks (boring people like Eric) and uber-dorks (pocket-protector wielders like Doc). We're the ones who still enjoy arcade games!
  14. I liked Latter Days. There was another one but I can't recall the name of it... Yes, Sommerstrom German for "Summer Storm") was good as well and can be found on YouTube it is in German so be sure to find it with English subtitles.
  15. So he means to destroy my house... thanks a lot CJ! lol
  16. Both my sister and mother advised against telling him until I can support myself, which is a couple years yet. My mother, for one, believes that me being gay would kill him. He is tolerant of gays, but beyond that I really have no idea where his morals lie, being raised catholic by a very religious mother (my grandmother).
  17. Funny that this thread resurfaced. My homophobic best friend called me last week and asked the big question, "Are you gay?" Apparently he's been thinking about it for a while and didn't know how to approach me on it. He said that I'm always going to be his best friend in the entire world, the best man at his wedding, and nothing would ever change between us. He pulled the "I tell you everything about me" card since he told me about some unsavory aspects of his life from a year ago. I haven't given him an answer yet, but I suppose he's figured it out for himself. Saturday night I went out with my other slightly homophobic best friend, Trish, to dinner and the movies (saw Changeling, definitely recommend it). While we were sitting in the theater's cafe waiting for the movie clear out so we could go in, we somehow got on the topic of gays. It was on her friend at her school, and our mutual friend in Italy. Her friend barely fits the stereotype (hails from Missouri, going to school in Pennsylvania) but we were disgusted by his lifestyle (has an open relationship with his boyfriend in the sense that if either of them sees a cute guy, they'll try and bring him home for a threesome). Our mutual friend in Italy fits the stereotype perfectly and even crosses his Ts and dots his Is while doing it, and I told her how he FINALLY came out. Anyway, she said that I'm definitely not gay, to which I replied with, "Would it matter if I was?" She said no, then after a little more conversation she put two and two together and said she was surprised, but doesn't care. I never actually said, "I'm gay," but hinted it. So out of three people remaining, one knows, one pretty much knows, and one isn't allowed to know until I graduate and move out to start my career (my dad). So close to total freedom, yet so far. I dunno if I mentioned it, but ALL of my friends at my old school know, and most of them have met JW through webcam now.
  18. It's good to have allies! lol
  19. You I always read the title of this thread too quickly and it winds up being "Public Shaving" and I think to myself, who would shave in public? Who would shave the public?
  20. To be honest, I read this chapter and was left with wondering where the magic of the story went. True, a number of things that needed to be addressed were seen here, but there's been no mention of the General or the Scar in at least a few chapters...
  21. eh, turning 20 is nothing. I left my teen years behind almost 2 years ago and haven't looked back.
  22. Typical...
  23. Already did I went to my friends birthday/Halloween party last night at my old school and brought my laptop with me. Well, I have the first picture I posted of him at the carnival as my background on my laptop, so when I turned it on, my old roommate, Kyle, snickered and said to his girlfriend, Katie, "Come check this out..." knowing full well she would get all gushy with "Awwwwwwww"'s. Luckily I didn't get slammed with "Awwwww"'s because the other two girls couldn't make it. One had to stay home to see her sick uncle and the other was stuck on Staten Island when the bridges were closed due to heavy rain.
