From the reviews: Mark's response: See...now wouldn't that just be such an idea now? Wade's hooking up with Brad now - just what is there to stop Matt from getting in on it? Sorry, Mark, but unless you're going to tell us that you will flat out never write that happening...I don't see the reason for it to not happen. And nevermind just how awful Wade doing so is now...

But, how are we able to tell the difference between parents who will discipline their child with what could be considered "reasonable" physical means, and those who go over the line, until we hear about when those parents who do go over the line, do just that?? I can see where "reasonable" physical discipline won't cause deathly psychological problems. But I can also see the other side of it as well: How do we know which parents can utilize such discipline properly, and which parents cannot, until it is too late? Because even one instance of a parent going too far is too much.

That's peanuts compared to up in my neck of the woods. Today's forecasted high: 9! Be glad you and the younger ones don't have to deal with that. They were saying yesterday that Reagan's first inauguration was like that - only a high of 7.

Not a fan of Wade + Brad. At all.

Crazy stat I just looked up on them: They're 5-0 in Super Bowls (though their last win was nearly two full decades ago). Should they beat Atlanta - and I do like them for it - then I might just like them for winning the big prize, too. But all things considered: When the hell did San Fran become such a sporting city? First the MLB championship, and now possibly this one too?

From the chapter: Unless I'm reading this wrong, he's put Ryan into that category now too. Or at least, he's in the category of people that he's not going to bother keeping an active friendship with (whereas with Alistair, he likely will try to keep it going).

Choking against a team that nearly choked today - that's very funny.
-
Don't sound too enthused about that just yet. That match-up already happened just last month on your boys' home turf - and they lost, 41-34.
-
Meanwhile, Houston does indeed prove that they're still pretenders.
-
Phew...that was a close one, gentlemen - and Krista. But if Atlanta can let Seattle get that close to beating them here, then I'm not going to like them for beating San Fran next week.

What. The. Fuck. Just. Happened. Whoever can crush Baltimore now will make me oh so happy.

I agree, and actually, that's not even what I'm getting at. What I am getting at is that there's been lots of talk about JJ's future skating aspirations, while in the meantime, he placed 13th at the competition earlier in the story. Granted, that was under heavy distractions, but it was still a 13th place finish nonetheless. Now...maybe there's something about the skating world that I'm not familiar with that I'm not factoring in here, but a 13th place finish there doesn't seem to showcase a future tip-of-the-top contender, now does it?

I flat out do not agree that either guns or people are solely the problem, and that the other is not. No, both factor in. But that extends itself to a philosophical discussion that could take up a whole separate space. What works for having/using guns for those out in the country will not work for those in the cities. While guns are very much part of your history, I myself have never even held, much less fired, a real gun in my life. I do, however, have "hunter" relatives. As much as "compromise" is often a dirty word these days, I don't see any viable solution that doesn't involve forms of compromise here. I think there's at least some room for regulation here (some - I am not pushing for great, sweeping weapons bans), but such laws will have to be worded very, very carefully. In any case, however, I fail to see how the current "status quo" should continue to be acceptable.
-
Assuming, of course, that things go that far with the skating career pursuits. What if that doesn't happen?
-
I am decidedly less optimistic about JJ being reined in so easily...

What in the name of all that is unholy...???? :O

It comes and goes in waves for me. Last month I'd have nights where I was up till at least 4 AM, but lately I've been swinging back to closer to 2.

I'm thinking the same way - both with Brad and in general. But, for Wade it seems like it's been lopsided lately with him being the guy grabbing his ankles no matter who he's with, which did put a bit of a damper on what's otherwise a good fantasy coming true. (And no, I'm not suggesting it would have been better going the other way with Brad - that wouldn't really have made sense.) With Will, I get the vibe that he's more of a bottom, period. If anything, I get the vibe that maybe that could be contributing to why he seeks out these "straight"/older guys.
-
More often than not I don't find "power"/"dominant" bottoms to be all that hot to read about. But that's just me. Until this story, though, I would've thought of Wade as versatile. But now in this story, it would be like a race between him and Will for the most frequent bottom, if not for the fact that Will hardly ever seems to top at all. I guess if anything...I wonder where Wade's desire to be the guy who's spreading his legs, is coming from.

One word to describe the end of this chapter: Peachy! It does seem like it's been too long since you've graced us with a true cliffhanger, though. Brad mentioned how Wade likes to be in control...yet why is it that Wade ends up as the Bottom Boy with basically every guy he's hooked up with besides Matt? (The only other one I can think of that he's even topped is Jeff, and even that was after the fact.) Sigh...my first inclination is to think that Robbie's...dinner...is proof contributing to him and Brad headed for Splitsville and him being on the train headed for Exit, Stage Left. But, we don't know anything beyond the snippet that introduces Wade's part of the chapter yet.

Boy, I gotta tell you...that's one sure-fire way to kick off a new book club - setting the discussion date to nearly a year ago. Old years die hard?
-
The GA Stories category is for those stories not from a Hosted or Promising Author, yes? I believe (Un)Masked would be flat out ineligible - but I too wonder about Purpose since it was free for part of the year. There certainly has been a lot of changes as far as the Q is concerned this year...
-
Well...so much for the Redskins. No idea who's going to win the NFC now...I still think it won't end up being San Fran though, whether or not they beat the Pack next week (though it's a moot point if they fail that). However, that said: It has to go to somebody! I'm not banking on the Ravens meeting New England again for this year, because they have to go through Denver next week to do so. Sorry, but that's not going to happen.

New Year's Resolutions: To Blab or Not To Blab?
MJ85 commented on MJ85's blog entry in Comments, Musings, Ponderings, Thoughts, 'N' Thangs
Indeed. I think this can go hand-in-hand with what I'm getting at here. @ the many unfinished tasks though! Hmmmm. This has potential too! Substituting a group of friends in the event one doesn't have "roomies" though. But if you "resolve" to fail...and then actually do fail...doesn't that give you the opposite of what you really wanted to begin with? Another excellent point. Wow, cut a guy down why don't ya? Hardy har har. FWIW though, mine is 1280 x 800. Loving the discussion so far guys! -
Are the entire lot of you plotting his eventual return to the story or something??? Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh, Louise. Why would Will be essentially keeping him at arms length if he still considered him so much of a friend?
