  1. I dunno about them this year. They seem a bit weaker than they did last year - and if they couldn't get it done last year...
  2. Sooooo...how about that NFC playoff picture, eh? Here's the overall playoff-picture.
  3. See, this could be another reason why Tony has a more "fluid" sexuality or could be bisexual. Are we sure it's simply that he blames Sam's being gay and not his flat-out reckless behavior along with it? Either he's held himself back from really being able to know better, or else he's been given at least a better idea...but there's more to it. By now he definitely senses his own general attraction to guys...but what if he's still attracted to women as well? He'll have had no real frame of reference for being attracted to both sexes, and actually that could be even worse, because despite Sam's being gay, Sam did impregnante Tony's mother. That could make him fear that he's destined to be just like his father - is it any wonder that he'd hate any idea of same-sex attraction with that kind of fear? And never mind the bi-phobia that comes from some gay people even today...
  4. My thought is, as long as Will continues to hook up with basically any guy who's hot who even has a pulse, forget about anyone who's even currently on the radar as a long-term partner for him. As for JJ...forget about telling him about any kind of consequences for the way he's acting now, and expecting him to listen. I'd see him cutting everyone else out of his life before even thinking of backing down now. He's the kid who'd make a perfect son for Elizabeth, rather than Wade or Beau.
  5. After this chapter, I feel like we're waiting for that *SHOCKING!!!* moment where somehow they're at the hospital, and Will happens to overhear JJ and Jeanine talking, to the point where it basically reveals that it really is all about total control for JJ. Even if that's not it, I'm sensing foreshadowing for yet another Big Dramatic Event involving Will and JJ, one that doesn't involve JJ's birthday. The hospital thing is just the first thing that came to my mind, even if it's not that likely to be the thing.
  6. LOL...given all that, I think I can. Something like...equally bitchy, if not more?
  7. B1ue: Seeing as the law is rather...specific, I don't expect that anyone who does pursue it would already know the full legal scope of it, until they researched it - unless of course they're already a lawyer. I remembered from reading about ages of consent among states that CA's was 18, but the rest I had forgotten about until looking it up. Jeremy: That's odd that whatever school district your friend was in tried to put her back in second grade. I'm not sure when the cutoff date thing was established (nor do I remember the date for here in MI, though I think it's December 1), but you're right - that shouldn't have happened at all.
  8. California Penal Code, Sections 261-269. Even with all of Will's sexcapades, though, I don't imagine that this will ever actually come up. Not unless...not unless it's a scenario like I suggested above:
  9. Because California's age of consent is 18, and CA's "close-in-age" portion of the law WOULD NOT provide either an exception or a defense in their case - it instead would lower the act to a misdemeanor. That is how. Actually, both Will and Alistair can be held liable.
  10. Another alternative of course is that, assuming Will does eventually settle down, that it'll be with a guy who we don't even know about yet.
  11. LOL...he'd still die! :P Ryan is probably just as you said - just horny, while Gathan I feel like is a little more bisexual, but leaning toward the "straight" side. It's Tony that I don't really get a clear "read" on. I guess that would make him bisexual too by default, but somehow that feels like the wrong way to describe him.
  12. With the way people have been calling this another "potential Billy"...if he were to make a long-term exit in any fashion anytime soon, then his exit would serve largely as a Billy re-hash. And I'm not convinced that that's a good thing. If it happens another time, then...whatever, but now......?
  13. I don't see this going very far or for very long at all. Alistair's still at the same pre-puberty stage that JJ is, and I feel like it's only so long before either Will tires of hooking up with him in much the same way that he did in this chapter, or Alistair tires of Will pushing him to hook up. That said, it's probably better in the long run if this ends sooner rather than later - there's something about hooking up with Alistair that makes me think that Will is treading on very dangerous (legal!) waters there... Just as a "for instance" - all it takes is JJ finding out somehow, toss in a little vindictiveness, and...there you go.
  14. You may be right about this, but I get the vibe that it'd be all too easy for JJ to completely "disappear" from the CAP universe if this happens. That said, about the only way I could imagine JJ willingly wanting to have this kind of separation is if Jeanine had already done an "Exit, Stage Left" - and if that happened, would he even want to be reminded of any relatives, no matter how distant? Who says Tony has to be absolutely gay? I get the vibe that he has more of a "fluid" sexuality, and can be with either men or women as he prefers. While it may not be "widely acceptable" quite yet in 2000/2001 like it is now, the only vibe I get that he'd be totally totally gay is from people's wishful thinking. Along those very same "challenging the status quo" lines, who says Will even has to settle down, or settle down with one partner? P.S. Let me just say that I'm not a fan of the new "quoting" system. Before, I could still quote people on the forums when I had to use mobile-net. Now, I'll hit the "quote" button, and when it takes me to the posting window, I get a blank window instead of the person's quoted post. So annoying...
  15. Happy birthday, JC!
  16. Happy birthday!
  17. See, this is what bugged me the most, because they go through all that negotiating and make it seem like they're going to start a treatment plan that might actually be beneficial...and then they turn around and say that they're going to start with ECT. If they intend to go that route...then why even bother??
  18. Whoops. But don't they seem like a "married couple" headed down that road?
  19. I keep wondering when we're going to hear about a divorce between Brad and Robbie, honestly.
  20. Indeed it is...between just learning of how bad he really had it, and being in chat the last time he was there...I'm just in such shock right now.

    Chapter 16

What? That's it?? Awwwwwww. Seemed like there was a lot of room for more. Still...I'll take nice and short over long and full of angst.
  22. Wouldn't the existence of said confidentiality waiver be proof enough for his point? And it's assuming we ever get there. Millenium, which brought us into 2000, wrapped in March of last year, and at the rate we're going, by the time we get to this next March, we won't be far into 2001.
  23. I have to think that the fact that we've been here and done this once before already, with many of the same personalities involved no less, is a factor in the diminished coverage.
  24. There's something about Marie that sort of annoyed me in this chapter - she struck me as someone who thinks she's the cool one by rebelling and seemingly not "fitting in" while in reality she's really conforming to the mainstream version of "not fitting in". And that's before we even get to the $700 shoes... Oh, and nevermind the fact that it'll be Stef who has the last laugh in the end seeing as it's all about the designer labels these days... With Will already being physically big for his age anyway, should he even be one to be wearing tight jeans anyway? All things considered though, it's more often than not that I'll be wearing combinations that aren't all from one label, head-to-toe. I sometimes feel like I'd be a "label whore" when I do match completely like that. For me, it's more about what I think looks good on me and what I feel like wearing. As for Noah: He's closeted, he and Ferris had a thing, the closet broke them up, and Ferris isn't the type to either get over that or deal very well with gay guys who aren't uber-gay. How far off am I?
  25. Happy birthday Wayne!
