I'm shocked that Don doesn't make the top three. He's obviously losing his touch or maybe he just decided throw in the towel. Admitted, Jeff will take some beating on present form but there's someone else lurking in the shadows who is destined for first place without a doubt. Someone so nasty and despicable that he will make Jeff look like a hero. He's in the same story and will make his first appearance in the next chapter on Sunday. 💥 Any guesses who this may be?

Yes. Definitely one of those. There are some real giveaway clues to the exact year in the final two chapters if you know your movies and pop songs or you can just google them. Pity I can't offer some prizes. It would double the number of readers! 😎

Funny enough I was picturing a kind Alfred Hitchcock black and white type motel when i writing it. The type with lots of squeaky doors blowing in the wind and heavy footsteps. Sue doesn't seem to trust Robbie with anyone even his straight friends which is a little odd but entirely predictable, I suppose. Thanks @Benji

Thanks Tim. The story may be winding down but it's not going to go quietly so you can expect a little drama in the next couple of chapters and maybe a few surprises.

I'm late to the party again Gary but I was always going to finish this story. I like the way you implied Jack was a boy. I enjoy these clever little additions to stories and of course, you did it just right. I enjoyed the whole story but the ending was particularly nice. Another polished work to add to your growing collection. Oh and yes another story with these would be interesting. I would like to see what changes happen in the course of a year. I find Jimmy particularly interesting so that would be cool. Providing we don't have to wait a year as well. Only kidding. However long it takes, I'm sure it will be worth the wait. 😏

Hello Michael. Well I don't know what to say to that but thank you. I'm pretty sure you must be mistaking me for someone else but I'll take praise wherever I can find it. It's our only payment on here of course and your comment is the equivalent of an hefty tip. Probably more than I deserve but it will help insure prompt service in the future. The Cockney Canuck originally should have ended around chapter 54 but it kind of took on a life of it's own and became a bit of a soap opera. I was encouraged by it's popularity which I didn't expect and decided to keep it going. Ever since then I've been trying to work it back to where it should have ended without too many joins. I could have kept it going but there are reasons why it has to finish and I'm not able to move forward on this site until it does. I'm glad you are enjoying the other stories and there are more that I'm hoping to post on GA in the near future providing they get equal billing with other stories. Everything will hinge on what happens in the next couple of weeks but there are a lot of other options available.

I don't know about the States but in Canada "football'" or soccer is considered more of a girl's sport particularly in schools where the boys tend to play hockey, baseball or Canadian football. Even Lacrosse is more popular I think. Rory's dad is from Manchester where soccer players are treated like Gods. Maybe Rory will switch sides right at the end just to throw a spanner in the works. Then Robbie can ride into the sunset with him and leave Nathan and Alex as a most unlikely couple. I thought every town in North America has a Palm Springs Motel?

Nathan's a bit of a darling and no doubt a little camp but Robbie has never complained about this side of his boyfriend's character other than to say he finds it difficult at times to keep pace with him. He quite enjoys the camp side of Nathan who at times has referred to Robbie as being a bit of a drama queen. Alex is different and although there is obviously a natural attraction between them it's a dangerous one too. There's still a few things we don't know yet that may have some bearing but I can't say anymore.

Thanks Steve. I only just see this comment and had to listen to the song again. It would be a great song for this story and it dates from roughly the same period. I think there is definitely an attraction between the two characters in the story although Andy refuses to admit it. Also, although they are from completely different worlds, personality wise they share a lot of the same traits. As you point out Andy may be as big a drama queen as Tyrone. They both feel trapped and there is a certain amount of envy from both although at the moment it's well-hidden. It's a fun story that was enjoyable to write so I'm pleased to see it doing well, even if not all of it makes perfect sense. I think that a lot of what happens in that world desn't make any sense at all.

Thank you @Edward for your comment. It's interesting that you mention their mom. She died nine months earlier and David told Jeff that Simon has been his boyfriend for about a year so it's possible that she knew.

Thanks @Sweetlion Very well put. Despite having Jeff as a dad, Simon is the most vulnerable of the two boys. He told them he had somewhere else he could go but he may have been lying to stop David from worrying. He seemed to be more concerned about David than himself.
