Is Vane the Claggart to Blake's Billy Budd? I think that Pitt is fashioned as Vere.

I just discovered this story yesterday, and I have devoured all 17 (so far) chapters like a starving man! What a rip-roaring yarn of a tale! Recalling the beginning of the first chapter, I hope that ultimately all will turn put well for Burke and Pitt, but I eagerly await further developments until they finally reach their final fates. Thank you for this beautifully plotted, marvelously written tale.

There seem to be a few small issues with this chapter, using the wrong name in places ("Lucas" instead of "Jubal" and vice-versa), but that's understandable considering what you have been through. I'm glad that Karhu is still alive, as he seems to be a decent sort. Perhaps eventually he will be able to assimilate into one of the werebear groups - and maybe Bernie and he will become mates.

This is a wonderful series! I only hope that the author hasn't abandoned it after bring us readers so far along the path. He had already begun a new story, but I look forward to more of this one.
